But, if it was an American traveling that took the pictures and brought it up, then what reason would they have had to do that in the first place.
They should just leave the affairs of other countries alone. Oh wait, I forgot. It's America's job to police the world, so we've got to keep our eyes open for racists. Fuckin' tourists. |

The ad is away from the Americans. It's not being run in the US. It's being run overseas, but people do travel, and people do have cameras, and internet access...so it's only a matter of time before some American somewhere brings up something from some other country because Americans have this mindset that we're better than everything out there. We're not. |

Hellz no, those squirrels were awesome.
Even though it is stupid to be so PC, Sony should have counted on it and kept the ad away from Americans. |

That'd be an awesome commercial... o-o
a white PSP dressed up as colonel sanders, white a black PSP capping his ass and then stealing his stuff... ... Speaking of which... was anybody else offended by the squirrel's? Hellz ya... |

The ads were in the Netherlands... yet it gets pulled because people in California got offended. I'm not racists, and I have awesome black friends and all that... but seriously the NAACP and all the PC people needs to shut the fuck up and realize that not everything is about race!
Those ads could have been shown in Britain and I am sure no one would have cared, and you know why? Because black people over there are not always harping on race issues like they are here! The rest of the world resolved thier issues and moved on while we are still in the back bickering with each other over skin color! Personally, I think the ad looks cool. It personafies the product because let's be honest, if two PSPs were having an intimidation contest it would not look as cool. |

the man in the billboard on the post on the top is a woman?
... very nice. *feels stupid* "According to the Sony representative, the company had only received a single complaint about the ads from within the Netherlands." I love the USA. |

The posters are more to appeal to men (straight men) no offense Zabuza, if you really look at it. Two hot chicks fighting...
People read too far into these things, The fact is that PSP is started black and now sales rates have probably dropped so Sony said, "Hmm maybe more people will by PSP if its white." TA DA White PSP. Nothing to do with racism. |

I mean, I have no reason to own a PSP...I just work for Sony.
But, while they are contrasts of black and white, the problem really only became an issue when some American got ahold of the images. And, that's it. People are just overly uptight about things. |

Argh
*Kills Self* I simply loathe the PSP, I really, really don't like it as a system in general. But nonetheless, these commercials and ads are most definitly not racist. They are advertisements. Sure if it showed a white guy beating the piss out of a black guy, and all the ad said was "PSP better when white, like everything else" Sure, that'd be racist, but not a simple comparison of light and dark using photo-editted images. |

It's a PR thing. Of course any company is gonna pull anything that attracts so much attention, but since it already has gotten the attention it intended...whether good or bad, I really don't think it's going to affect Sony sales worldwide.
People just need to learn to stop being so militantly PC. |

Meh, you all are probably right, but the complaints did do something.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6153816.html Strange, because I thought that it wasn't run in the United States. Also, my original comment on it going prejudice was intended not to be completely serious. |
Stitch Posts: 1908/2785 |
They're both women.
But, I guess they could still be getting some...considering that the posters are in Amsterdam. |

I laugh at anybody who even looks at that AS racist...
I think "Dizamn, the black man's gettin' some." Sexy bitch. |

Exactly. And people whom claim it as prejudice need to grow up and embrace the 21st century. We need to stop being overly sensitive to things. |

I can see that this is clearly not prejudice. It simply showing that the PSP has been black all this time and now becoming white so be afraid. |

Except there is a black person doing that to a white person ad. We have it at work. We have mostly all 100 images at work, but I can't release them if I can't find them online.
And, it's not racist. It's meant to attract attention on the contrast of the white PSP to the black PSP and nothing more. |

After seeing all the wtf and stuff... I want one. XD
I see it as a creative way to hit the nation. It's too bad that the United States takes everything as an insult though. |

Some people were deeply discussing this ad in a few of the communities I'm in on LiveJournal.
I think people feel the urge to say it's racist/prejudice because our society has programmed us to try to be PC, but I don't see it here. Would that it was the black girl, doing the same thing, I doubt it would be labelled racist. In our world, the converse of that ad is universally accepted like two black people calling each other "Nigga," but a white person can't, even if they were within the community and had no ill will. It's funny that it went through Europe without a peep, but the moment it hit here, there pictures of it flooding the Internet. Anyway, here's one of the main discussions that was going on: http://community.livejournal.com/wtf_inc/3009158.html One way or the other, if it garners any attention (like it's doing right now), then the ad did its job. |
