It takes the complimentary color (the EXACT opposite color from another. Example: RED is the opposite of GREEN. BLUE to ORANGE. YELLOW to PURPLE.) of the color that's in the picture when it's in color, and your brain takes that and when placed on a white surface, sees the opposing color (the one the picture's creator wants you to see) and since you're concentrating so hard on the dot, it keeps all the color lined up on top of each other.

That's all it is.

he takes all the black and white out of the picture, then has those weird colors, you stare at it, then when you change it to black and white, its overlayed over it, so it looks like color.. but when you move your eyes, its not overlayed anymore...

On a side note, I like the tricks where they have you stare at a dot for a minute or so, then WAAAAAAAA, you hear a large scream and the screen flashes or something. The first time I saw something like that I jumped.

It seemed like it has to do with your eyes to me. Something with the colors your peripheral vision sees or something.

Seeing how your eyes are like the best visual gadgets in existance, I think they'd notice colors changing instantly.

you stare at a picture with rlly weird colors for 30 seconds, then you mouse over the picture, and it changes to black and white, but until you movie your eyes its in color
