alright, so a day after the suggestion of Ouran High School Host Club, i DLed a couple ep.
the theme song got me worried about the animation style, as i only watch things based on the style. so yeah, it got me worried, but the show was nothing like that. next thing, the plot and character got me worried again. but the second ep remedied it. so i'm hooked. i just finished ep 11 a couple hours ago  |

Orphen is like a major cussword in my book...
I saw like 5 episodes and noticed theres no actual plot to the show. In my opinion, I diddnt like it. There are better animes out there. Monster Rancher was better. And I finally got the DVD's.... |

Has anyone ehard of the Orphen series?? I Have read all 5 books and its pretty good. Anyone know if they have any movies for that series. |

Ouran High School Host Club!!!! I came across it searching for new anime. You can dll it as a torrent. It just came out this year and it is so funny! If I'm feeling down, this anime always cheers me up. Even if comedy high school romance isn't your think, I think anyone would still enjoy it! At times though, it is like a bad train crash, you just can't turn away! Highly recomended. |

Are you talking about the new movie thats out? Or the new series? Because I remember watching a movie where Ken would jab a dude's throat and make his eyeballs explode... It was awesome...but man, Where are they getting the anatomy of what it looks like when you blow someone's head up? At least its not like the classic Fist of the north Star, where when their head's explode, the background turns white, and the character turns black..... |

And have you seen the New Fist of the NorthStar?
Probably the goriest anime ever. At least one with the most detailed guts, intestines, etc ... Now I'm just making the series sound bad. 
I thought it was hilarious when Ken first showed up in the original movie to save that girl that "screamed" for him. When he just walked through that building falling on him.  |

as for i... you cant beat genuine comedy. when you're just wanting to watch something to pass the time, or with friends, Full metal panic can't be beat. or even fruits basket. most of the suggestions are great. but from my personal opinion, if you're gonna watch something, dont start with the first ep. i'd like to watch some random ep before i get into something when i first started watching anime. yeah a lot of people hate that approach, but i think if you're new to the game, it's best so you dont waste your time watching the first couple eps of something that you'll hate later on anyways. |

I'd hate to recommend things that are already played on Cartoon Network, Fox, Jetix, or anywhere else on television (Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Full Metal Alchemist, One Piece, Naruto, Furi Kuri, Kenshin, DragonBall, Yuyu Hakusho, Inuyasha, etc). I mean, what's the point of cramming those down your throat if they're so mainstream anyway?
Rule of thumb. If they sell products for it at Hot Topic, it's too mainstream. I haven't been watching much anime myself lately, so most of my recommendations have become licensed since I've been watching. Since I'm not sure what you're into, these are really general suggestions: Foundational anime that you MUST watch some time, even if just to lay a foundation for your tastes and such): - Akira (Duh...) - Blue Submarine No. 6 (Exposure to Mahiro Maeda is GRRRRRR-EAT!) - Ranma 1/2 (Time was back when I was first into anime, there were only 3 main titles: DragonBall, Sailor Moon, and Ranma 1/2.) - Ghost in the Shell - As much of Studio Ghibli as possible (My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, Grave of the Fireflies, etc) - Lupin III - Ninja Scrolls - Patlabor Just for the sheer enjoyment, I guess: - Tenjou Tenge - Elfen Lied - Cromartie High School - Vampire Hunter D (and Bloodlust) - Samurai Champloo |

Kinda what Makura said Trigun, Hellsing, and Cowboy Bebop are a must see. Fooly Cooly is okay, but I wouldn't recommended to anybody I see. |

If your into Romance animes like me, then I would suggest Love Hina and Chobits...THey are funny yet sweet at the same time!
