For Best I'll say the Animatrix...

For worst I'll say Gungrave... I've no reason to say either, they're just what I liked and what I didn't like. ^^

Kaena was awesome! I watched it on Stars and practically freaked out!

Rock-A-Doodle....I love that Cartoon...How dare you...:: Runs off and crie in corner :: I was RAISED on that movie!

And Heavy Metal...I diddnt like the Nudity and big boobs, but Blue Oyster Cult ROCKED that movie...

I also wanted to point out...that I found not only the worst anime, but the worst animation anime....Speed Racer....

It monologs WAAAAYYY more than DBZ, and its repetitive...You can see the roads shift back and forth while a character is driving at this so called "200 MPH"

I'm actually amazed of what didn't make the bottom list. I mean, I've seen some really crappy animation over the years.

I'd add to the bottom:
- Quest for Camelot
- Aladdin sequels, most especially Prince of Thieves
- Rock-a-Doodle
- Cool World
- both Heavy Metals (though they might be enjoyable at points, I doubt most people like them)
- Kaena: the Prophecy (the animation is AMAZING, but the story is terrible)
- the Swan Princess sequels (how does she keep getting changed back into a swan?!)
- the Land Before Time sequels (they're leading up to the extinction of he dinosaurs, for crying out loud. Just end this insanity!
- Yu-Gi-Oh! (What was that you said? You-Gay-Hoe?)

I'll post more when I think of them... or at least remember and then wince.

I own two versions of Mononoke-hima: "Princess Mononoke" the English DVD version, and the japenese version on my computer. It's my favorite animated movie, and 2nd favorite movie in total.

Fantasia is great, but it doesn't appeal to me that much. Visually stunning, yes, but too incoherent to me.

In terms of story, Miyazaki has amazing stories. But in terms of animation alone, it's debatable.

Here's my Top 4 animated series/movies:

1. Princess Mononoke
2. Fantasia
3. Final Fantasy VII: AC (Amazingly realistic, flowing, and flashy)
4. Cowboy Bebop (don't argue with me on this)

Great Animation....Hmm....I agree with you Voltron with the Miazaki films...but im going to have to say Katsuhiro Otomo, the Maker of Akira

And the worst animation....any disney movie that has the number 2 at the end of its title not only sucks in its title, but the animation is just.....Ugh, seemed to be made by people who cheat animation by skipping multiple frames....

There's a list there to spark some ideas about what I'm about to ask.

In your honest, humble opinions, what was THE greatest animated film of all time? And while we're at it, why not tell us the worst animated movie you've ever seen?

Now, I agree with that list in the sense that almost all of Hayao Miyazaki's movies are on there. I'm not even an anime fan, and I can definetly say those are some of the most incredibly pieces of art I've seen. I don't even catagorize them as anime... even though they are since they are from Japan... But... his movies are only second to one; Fantasia. The original Fantasia (meaning, not Fantasia 2000, though that was awesome too) was such an incredibly film. The order in which they put the cartoons in was perfect; ending with A Night on Bald Mountain was THE best ending to any movie, ever, animation or not.

Well, anyways, whats your choice?
