or maybe he had to because of the rules like...

I don't think they made fun of Wicca yet. Did they?

I haven't watched South Park in awhile, so I don't know if they've made fun of Wicca yet, but even if they have I'd watch it and laugh.

And you make a good point THJ, and it's a good addition of the child molester thing... makes it funnier.

Here's why they didn't overtly mock scientology:

1) Tom Cruise has clout in Hollyweird.
2) Viacom owns Comedy Central.
3) Tom Cruise Had recently finished Mission Impossible 3.
4) The film studio that made MI3 owns Viacom
5) Old Tommy said that If Viacom doesn't pull the Scientology episode off Comedy Central, He won't advocate MI3, the lack of publicity could cost them millions.
6) The episode was pulled.
7) The creators couldn't satirize Scientology without consequences. So Scientology = Super Adventure Club!

This is just a theory, but it's most likely.

That's not the point. This was like an official death of a character that had somewhat of an importance and is not coming back. I mean, they really killed him bad this time. Chef is not going to randomly reappear like Kenny does (did).

Anyway, the ending to that South Park episode:

I saw the episode last night, ya'll. It was a little forced but funny as hell. They did a good job whacking him in the end. I kind of wished they resolved theis, but Isaac had it coming.

That was amazing. I still don't know why he didn't have a problem when they made fun of scientology as blaintology or the stuck in the closet episode.

Sorry, that it isn't the whole episode. There's sections on "Chef Returns" on YouTube, but they don't have the end scene that I posted.

If you don't want to bother looking for videos, but are stilld interested in finding out how it all led up to this point:
Spoiler:
Chef joined the Super Adventurers Club to get away from his dull life in South Park, but came back brainwashed. It's so blatantly obvious that his voice is done by soundboards.

Anyway, Chef comes back brainwashed and looking to molest him some little boys. The boys break him of this habit by taking him to a strip club to make him interested in women.

Eventually Chef is recaptured bythe Super Adventurers who divulge that their cult is solely based on being the first to have sex with the little boys of a particular area, spoofing the explanation of what Scientologists believe in the episode which initiated the controversy in the first place.

You know...Seen how Issiac is leaving, how much you wanna bet that they are going to use soundboards to replace him?

While doing so, he wont be an "Active" character in south park...

Edit: like anybody is gonna read this...

I heard about last night's episode of South Park...

Spoiler:
Chef Died, I roffled

Edit- 2: Oh wow...Rogue revived this thread 3 hours after I made the spoiler...how awesome

Watched Matt and Trey on David Letterman last week. When the subject of Isaac's leaving came up they mentioned that while making the episode they already had an inkling that he was going to leave because of the subject matter.

So it isn't as though they were shocked by Isaac's sudden change of heart.

They did also mentioned that in recent years, he hasn't really been a major part of the show any more, so the transition isn't as tough as one would think.

yeah seriously, the guy who plays chef is an ass. isn't one of the rules as a Scientologist is that you're supposed avoid ppl/ leave ppl who make fun of the religion?

but yeah... i hate people who are all, "oh, they're evil for making fun of religion" but the fact is that he isn't standing up for all religions, he's only using it as a front because they made fun of his -.-'

**nods** I would look at it in a completely different light if he was trying to defend all religions. But then again, that comment about cashing the checks is a good argument against his sudden actions toward them.

Like others have stated already, the show makes fun of EVERYTHING it seems. I see no discrimination there really. Humor is something the world needs. It takes things that happened or is happening and makes us laugh. You'd be suprised how much more people see when they can laugh at it.

Lol... What can I say... I agree with everyone who agrees, and I agree with the quote itself... Hell I agree with everything that the show "South Park" has ever stated to be true. (well y'know, unless they were kidding or having a stupid person say it)

It's one of my favorite shows, because it allows me to laugh at the idiocy of the world around me. ^^; *points and laughs at the next person who says they agree, because they're such a sheep*

Screw Isaac. Replace the intolerant punk.

I love the show, so it might not be the same.

I am very suprised. South Park has always had comedy in making fun of religious groups and current events. Isaac Hayes leaving is a huge disappointment. I hope this is only temporary and that he decides to come back. Even without Chef, South Park will still be hilarious, but this is still a huge disappointment.

"South Park" co-creator Matt Stone responded sharply in an interview with The Associated Press Monday, saying, "This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology... He has no problem - and he's cashed plenty of checks - with our show making fun of Christians."

I dont think its just Christians, its almost every religion in general...Coming from me, everyone needs to learn that its just a comedy show and religious people need to laugh at their face on the whole matter and dont take everything so seriously...

I was never offended at the show nor will I ever be... (if you havent guessed, im a heavy Christian )

I laughed a bit when Kenny had the Golden PSP and controlling God's army...

I could quote everyone like they have been, but I was too lazy to click the quote link thing. Anyways, I do agree with that he's pretty much holding double standards on that.

I don't watch South Park very often, but from what I see, their pretty equal in making fun of everything they can get their hands on (not that it's a bad thing usually), so I don't see them being unfair and Hayes is being perhaps overly sensitive to it.
