I can't see this working. The whole symbiote saga with Spidey, Venom, and Carnage is really my favorite part of the series. But i'm having serious doubts on how well they're going to pull off the Venom storyline.
Sandman and the Green Goblin have already been confirmed to be in it. So how the hell are they going to juggle those two, symbiote spiderman, and Venom? The whole symbiote storyline could be a movie in itself. I just hope they'll be able to do it justice. |

Yeah, but symbiote suit is solid black with white symbol in the Ultimate universe, so I guess they want to change it for Spiderman 3, since it follows a different storyline than that of the Ultimate universe. |

I read over the picture again and the site says "You may think you're looking at a black and white photo. Look closely, Spider-Man wears a black suit in Spider-Man 3." So I guess that sums up our questions. I'm sure they'll make it look cool, but I'd rather his costume look like the original Symbiote Spidey. |

Yeah thats the poster. People have been saying that its not just dark and that hes wearing the symbiot suit. If that IS the symbiot suit I dont really like it. The Spiderman Symbiot isnt supposed to have the web design, its just supposed to be solid black with a white symbol.
I think in 3 he MAY get the suit and this is just something like a symbol for fans. Its just an off color picture thats planting the seed in fans minds that Venom might play a big role. Just my speculations. |

Maybe it's just me but I think the only reason the Spidey suit looks dark is because of the background. In my opinion, the dark Spiderman suit effect in the image is simply a result of excessive shadows and such, to perhaps symbolize a darker plot this time around, rather than contact with the alien symbiote. |

Ultimate Spider-Man, the videogame, is based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics in which Spidey is only about 15 years old, still in high school, and is battling (among other things) Eddie Brock and the venom suit.
When Brock wears the suit, it buffs him up. But when Spidey has the suit, it just appears like a black version of the Spidey suit. Ultimate Spider-Man 2, the videogame, is supposed to cover this area a bit more. And, the comics, well, they cover a broader topic than all this. I hope they're not mixing universes in this movie. It wouldn't make sense to mix different universes together for a movie, it's best to stick to one specific timeline than to try to please all Spiderman and Spider-Man crowds by mixing or screwing with timelines. Kind of like the way Enterprise screwed up the entire Star Trek timeline. P.S., if you've played Ultimate Spider-Man, my name is in the credits as a QA Test Team for Activision (Lee Almodovar). |

Spider-Man becomes black not from a virus, but from an alien in space. A 'symbiote' which attaches to folk and buff them up ('course Spidey found out it was evil, and got rid of it via FFs sonic gun. Which it then attached itself to Eddie Brock).
Zabuza also pointed out the Ultimate Spider-Man way, which is basically the same thing, but not an alien (at least that's how it was in the game.) So...yeah. Cool, nonetheless. Very cool. Spider-Man never sucks though, so it's what I expect. 
(Hobo, wasn't the multi-armed Spidey known as "Doppleganger"? Or was that just some clone-like enemy? Either way, I have a toy of that whacko Spider-Man.) |

Actually, that's quite interesting. I just watched Spiderman 2 this morning. It was on HBO and I had nothing better to do. But yeah... you should see that one before you see 3. |

It's almost like their trying to follow the Ultimate universe storyline, since the Venom suit is just a symbiotic suit in that universe. (Been playing/reading Ultimate Spider-Man too much.)
I don't remember 2, but I don't think I watched two. We'll see about three. But if Brokeback Mountain makes a sequel, I'll be watching that. |

The images won't show for me. So I will say this. When hasn't Spiderman been awesome? I mean of course this one will be better since he's gonna have a black suit, but I don't remember Spiderman ever sucking. |
