I'm not saying that English is a random language, but I have a word that's one of my favorites.
Defenstrate- The act of throwing someting or someone out of a window. Yeah, "they have a word for that?" |

Okay, I guess I should have specified my intentions.
By selecting a random word, from a random language, I meant picking a word that's definition would make you think "they made a word for that?" Not so much the stupid translation of "shithead" into another language. That's not the purpose of this thread. My word, that's a perfect example of creating a word for something as trivial as a look shared by two people. Another example: Zenzizenzizenzic -- the eighth power or exponent of a number. For example the zenzizenzizenzic of 2 is 256. It was suggested by Robert Recorde, a 16th century Welsh writer of popular mathematics textbooks, in The Whetstone of Wit, published in 1557, although his spelling had the last letter of the word as 'k'. |
