That's very true! No Sith whatsoever on that list.
I wasn't a fan of it, but it was better than bleedin' War of the Worlds, for fuck's sake. |

Originally posted by ~|Kyo|~ Most definitely not. The list leaves out movies like Kung Fu Hustle, Proof, The Aristocrats, Steamboy, Serenity, hell even March of the Penguins... the list goes on... any of these are better than most of the list. The problem with the site that produced that list is the fact that they are so easily swayed and aren't neutral media at all. They get invited to movie sets and so on, so they play favoritism with whomever gives them the sweeter deal. I'm surprised Fantastic Four isn't on there with how the site plays favorites with Marvel. |

I just saw Wolf Creek today. One of the worst horror movies in a long time........in theatres that is.
War of the Worlds and Aeon Flux definately don't deserve to be on there. V for Vendetta? Ha! |

As I was going through critics' top lists, I was noticing a lot of anomalies...
Here's Father Geek's list: 25. WAR OF THE WORLDS 6-26 24. AEON FLUX 12-2 23. LAND OF THE DEAD 6-21 22. HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE 4-26 21. KISS KISS BANG BANG 10-20 20. WALLACE & GROMIT: CURSE OF THE WERERABBIT 10-4 19. HOOLIGANS 3-18 18. WOLFCREEK 10-8 17. HOSTEL 10-9 16. DANNY THE DOG 2-23 15. WALK THE LINE 11-17 14. SIN CITY 3-21 13. SYRIANA 12-5 12. BATMAN BEGINS 6-6 11. MATCHPOINT 12-21 10. NOBELITY 8-15 9. CORPSE BRIDE 9-22 8. HISTORY OF VIOLENCE 9-27 7. BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN 11-29 6. HUSTLE & FLOW 3-17 5. MUNICH 12-20 4. GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK 11-2 3. KING KONG 12-10 2. SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGENCE 12-10 1. V...FOR VENDETTA 12-11 First off, V for Vendetta won't be out until March '06... gah! Corpse Bride before Sin City?! Corpse Bride wouldn't even be in my top 10. |

Originally posted by Cairoi Well for one its a good movie. I think its hard to judge if you haven't seen it. Granted I did find it a bit overrated, but it was still a good film. It takes a lot of commitment to be completely heterosexual and involve yourself in such a role. Especially from both actors who are known as heartthrobs. I agree with most of the movie picks however i'm very dissapointed in there television picks. Nip/Tuck is a better show than all of the ones listed. It should have at least be a nomination. |

40-Year-Old Virgin was definatly worthy of that spot, but I'm angry about the whole Brokeback Mountain thing.
I'm not homophobic, but I don't think that anyone movie that "dares" to tread onto homosexual stories should instantly thought a better movie than regular ones. I mean, the term equality cannot be justified with minoritys getting better treatment than the majority because of their sexual preferance, race, sex, etc....Equality is equal, dumbasses, not a password to wealth or respect. Anyhoo, I am very happy to see King Kong and Munich on there. Also, Syrania is very deserving to be placed there, but yes there are very many great movies that were excluded from that list. |

The American Film Institute put out their list of films they felt reflected the best of the year. Though I feel some films like Kung Fu Hustle (though made and released in China in 2004, it was released in the U.S. this year), House of Flying Daggers, and others should have been included, I wasn't surprised considering the AFI tends to fall on the most typically dramatic or critically-acclaimed for over-played scripts, actors, and so on. Anyone blown away by AFI choosing the 40-Year-Old Virgin? I'm just surprised that they declared it so when they normally don't chose comedies or anything like that. |
