Maybe you should try reading the posts yourself as well. I know you got the Mt. Everest question correct, but I'm not acknowledging any of the other answers as correct or incorrect until I post the answers to them. Since I've been forced to post: There are five apples on a table. You take away two, how many have you got? Answer: You have two. I'll give hints for the Japan one later on. I'm trying to motivate a different way of thinking...thinking outside the box...away from the norm. I'm hoping you might discuss things back and forth (especially the Japan one) before just waiting for me to give up the answer. Have fun! |

Answer is Mt. Everest. Even though it wasn't discovered nor named, it was and is still the tallest mountain on the planet above sea level. There, two questions eliminated, only four more to go! |

How many letters are in the alphabet? Correct answer is 11, there are eleven letters in the phrase "the alphabet". Remember the title of this thread. The answers may be obvious, but only if you're thinking in a different frame of mind. Besides, why would I give a question as easy as the first one if it was meant to be a riddle/brain teaser? Well, you might need the internet for the Japan one, but the rest should be pretty easy. |
