Cyro, don't pull the sci-fi scenery going on... Chances are, I see it as someone going to look at it... so long... so boring... going to... skim the whole damn... fricken... pages... can't... handle... it!!!

The only problem the way I see in the Role-playing declining are most likely that good idea/storyline are collapsing or everyone set their own standard. In order word, many don't want to stick with something so new, something they usually play the most. Such as The Bouncer, or Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, something we can compare to what we already know, are usually the one we would join in.

Also, it seem to me that popularity also have it effect to it as well. Example, if True Flight / Sparda seem to make more popular RPing thread while everyone else isn't worth while to show off, many are probably going to skip out some good RPing and focus those who are very well-known.

I also assume that limited people (probably a person who made the thread) want it to keep it true to the story line and other people set their own standard. What's a good role-playing when you got as least one people who screwed it up in the end?

Just think what RPing is setting for people who wish to role-playing:

- Standard. Who the hell want to play something they don't know, or if the title suck? Or while roleplaying, you found out that there is someone who mess up the storyline. Or they want to stray off the storyline... The worse part is that everyone has their standard, meaning it is most likely for them to be a god.
- Popularity. Instead of having to role-playing with someone else, how about popular people!? This is the #1 addiction where everyone want to be noticed and thus, play in there. It doesn't matter if the storyline was bad or not, popular people make you feel honored. (Like how having sword is much better than any other weapon.)
- Creativity. Surely, many people would considers the creativity of person's mind. But if you role-playing saying so plain and straight out, where the fun is that? I notices that many are just lazy and go: "I did this and that. I say this and that." Soon or later, it is going to collapse quickly until another spark or interest come up.

Of course, it would be nice to have a theme music where you can heard the one time the RP started it all. For example... Would it be nice to have a Wild Arm Introduction Theme (Into The Wilderness) in a RP where certain characters chose their own destiny/have their own storyline to stick with? Just my bluntful opinion.

I've read the whole thing and I love it. It's actually fascinating to me. Your thinking of this RP is a lot like mine in the sense that I like to imagine multiple universes and an "outer-verse", instead of the one we're in being the ONLY one. It's thinking beyond what could happen. I happen to enjoy those kind of crazy ideas.

I'll participate should you ever start.

Ah... I'd like to have an RP that has humor, but the thing is that too many other people don't. When I do my posts in my RP's I add a bit of humor, but sometimes too much of a good thing is a bad thing, and I get the feeling people might lose interest if its too comical. But one day we'll all lighten up and do one just for comedy's sake. As for now, though, we should probably stick to more... actiony, dramatic stuff, with just a dash of humor.

I guess I'll post my idea. I have no idea how it will fly with people, it may be good or bad, but its one of the only starts we have so far.

Here goes:

This RP, (which will eventually need a title of course) is set in the not so distant future, but far enough for the occurances that happen within the story to seem plausible. Earth hasn't changed much since the present day we currently reside in. The little things, like architecture, style, communications, entertainment; those haven't changed much at all. It was in the other, more important and defining points in the civilization of humans that has begun to change drastically.

It is the future, but technology isn't all robots and rocketry. Those exist, but do not play an integral role in the actual RP (meaning, if you were expecting the RP to be about giant robo-suits, cybernetic war, hacking supercomputers and "man conquering machine"... sorry, this RP isn't really about that). Instead, humankind has developed a program for the study of discovery-making technology, and the study of the discoveries in which it finds. Man focuses more on reaping knowledge of the universe, instead of ways to create methods for war...

But! It isn't like that for long. With what the humans find with their new technological advances spawns a new age of mankind.

In the cosmos above the Earth, man has found what they call The Creature God. Those who look into the beings massive, slow beating, dying heart see the truth of their planets' people. This being is called "The Creature God" because, it is believed to be, in fact, the very same God as that told in Religious tomes and prophecies.

The Creature God seems to be very real. It doesn't take the exact form of a human, but nobody knows what it really is due to is external decay from its years of being in orbit around the Earth with such a lack of activity. This Creature God, though, isn't the holy being the God of Religion puts himself out to be. Science has proven one thing correct; human life is created not by the magic of God, but by the division and reproduction of cellular and molecular... molecules. God is the being that gave the world Religious order. So was it this being from on high, this Creature God that sent down his word?

The real question is, why would a being do this, play the role of what its specimens below call "God"? To guide a species with holy word, and yet never show its face.

Specimen are exactly what the being called them. The Creature God above is indeed the one that caused the Biblical stories and ideas to be spread, and to actually happen. The Creature God had intense intellectual and physical strengths over the humans. A mere look at this being would cause the humans to grow entirely incapable of making their own thoughts. Its own mind could take easy control over the people. In its true form though, it would annihilate the people who witness it, so it took different form, the form of Prophets. It took no human form, but instead created experiments that involved the humans.

One human child was to be imbued with his intelligence and abilities to sway the masses. One human was greeted by one of the numerous human forms of The Creature God, what humans call Angels. The Creature God could break away parts of itself to create smaller, not-so violently powerful form of itself. These two human Candidates, what he called his son, Jesus, and the other, Muhammad, came to spread the law of God around the world.

But still WHY the hell was the Creature God doing this? BECAUSE! These experiments were to better his own race. Each being in the Creature God's family visited different galaxies to spread their knowledge and influence of order. They viewed the ways in which civilizations grew, and documented them into massive libraries. (this is just coming out of the blue now, so bear with me and tell me if none of this makes sense.) Like the oceans to humans, space is simply a way to travel and find new lands for intergalatic beings.

I'm totally fucking rambling now, so I'm gonna get down to business. The humans find out that God is not what they thought he is. They find that he has been using the human race as lab mice in order to see what they would do.

Thus, religion is abolished from the planet earth, and primal life ensues. After riot and war from the conservative religious people of the world against the scientific and what is known as the "enlightenened" community, the decision to destroy the Creature God is founded. It is then executed.

THIS... *Phew, goddammit, this is taking way too long* *pant... gasp...* Okay, THIS is where the RP and YOU come in!

The Creature God is destroyed through methods of human technology. Unbeknownst to mankind, God was far too close to earth for them to attack. It is shattered in millions, billions of pieces of itself. God rains down upon the earth. Remember how I said that God could incapacitate the human mind with a simple breath of its existance being in the mind's presence? Well, when the Creature God is killed, he is not completely dead. His pieces, his "Angels" fall down from on high. Their presence causes Global Mindloss, a condition that spreads across the world, causing many of earths inhabitants to go completely "insane". NOW WHEN I SAY ANGELS, I DON'T MEAN "HUHUHUH YEA LOL ANGEL'S AND DEMON'S RP K!!" I mean, beings from God... not nessicarily winged men.

This is the apocolypse. What God said was true, so maybe there really was something to him.

You, RPer's, are the Sane. Your character must have a story that somehow explains why they are able to withstand the Influence of God. Some of your characters may know why (technology could explain this). Others importance to the story could be the fact that they are trying to figure out why. They can be anyone - they don't have to be the pope or anything.

As for enemies in the RP, it is the Fragments of God that you fight against. God shattered into millions of grotesque beings that will try to destroy you out of fury for destroying God's body.

What are you in search of? A way to get off the planet, or find shelter from the chaotic, post apocolyptic world. Maybe a way to do that is to... I dunno, ask God?

Remember:
The wrath of God is his appearance upon the world
The mercy of God is his absence.

Hm... Maybe the RP could be called "Wrath and Mercy"... or somehwere along those lines.

I seriously commend you if you read the whole thing. GJ my reader. GJ.

Yeah, go ahead and tell me about it. More or less, I might not get to my RP for a while because I have to run with the SBC. I had to make a decision a long time ago about whether do that or the RP because at the time I didn't I'd be able to run bother simultaneously. You may as well go ahead and start yours, J.

I liked your idea Cyro, but I could see what you mean by not wanting to post it incase it gets too inactive.

If you don't do it, I have an idea, but... it deals with religion, and I really don't know how that will fly with some people. I like the idea a lot, but it may be a bit um... I guess suggestive is the right word for it. I have no problem with it, but if you gimme the word, I'll tell you about it.

Cairoi, you lost faith in your own RP? I was waiting on you or someone to post something!? You had a good idea (granted it was spoofed in the movie Johnny English, and I would have liked going that route instead), and a good foundation of people, but ... lost train of thought.

RPs are no good if the creator loses faith and drive to keep it alive. I'm a better writer than I am a creator of RPs. I've only had one good one that I had to kill at the last moment (LBCC), and Soldier was a failed attempt at trying to create an RP out of a really good story.

It's the holidays too, and there are other priorities above keeping an RP going. I'm sorry that Mercenaries died, but meh. Guess, I'll go back to writing.

you say We, when I never said specifically.

Laying money on a manga
Hentai Concept art
Continual Badering to freaking post.

I'm sorry, but when I'm constently plauged, ever-fucking-second to post, I lose intrest.

Lets keep this in mind when creating an RP, people, to not bother everyone every two seconds about it.

That's why it was in Xeoland. Besides; admit it. That was funny. I just wanted shock value XD
Calm down, Kaijin; quit acting like we "ruined" it. It's not our fault; we're fanboys.

Hey, the Fan Story thing is just me practicing my writing, man. I have no plans with it. I just had a cool story and decided to write it...

Calm down, man.

Also, the manga I think is pretty cool. I mean, I wasn't completly gung-ho on the idea cause I thought it was kinda overdoing it a tad, the characters look awesome and I'd like to see where it goes.

And yeah, the hentai thing was too much. we didn't need to see any of that.

e---GADS! Was it that popular? I only saw two people posting most of the time. I have to admit I sort of wanted an ending to it but mostly I wanted to keep it going and people kept on slowing it down... I'm still debating on reopening it, but I've got a couple of demands that have to be met. If you're interested pm me.

yes, I loved that RP, i had fun. But having a damn Rp FRANCHISED killed it.

The Manga
The Fan Story
The freakign HENTAI CONCEPT ART

Common, it's a damn rp, not a way of life. That alone killed my intrest in it... After seeing all the "Vibe" that happened, it just ruined the whole point of it being an RP, and not some stupid Religion.

Cyro, I think that's a badass idea. If you make the group, I'd be more than willing to participate. Also, if your RP was interesting enough, people'd be more than willing to dedicate themselves to it. If I like it, I stick to it.

Well, that's just me, but hey, there's got to be more like me out there.

I have to admit that the inactivity inth eRP forum is exactly why I'm so hesitant to start my RP here. I'm afraid that if I begin it, people will lose interest very fast, despite the fact that I've spent a year on and off working it, makng things from monster lists to movies. The fact that I believe it's an RP that can blow others away doesn't guarantee that participants will stay with it all the way to the end. I don't want to start someting if that's going to be the case.

Not too long ago I did come up with the idea to create a group of members that are dedicated to participating in RPs. The purpose of this group would be to pick somebody's RP to play in and stay with it all the way to the end. Even if a member on the team starts to suffer from a little bit of boredom he would continue to participate. People in the group would be required to have the dedication to do this. That would be the hardest part. The RP's to play in would be picked base on its acitivity. The lower it is the more likely the group will pick it. The group wouldn't have to necessarily ave everybody go into one RP. The purpose for this is that it would bring more activity to the forum, and ti could possibly get other board members to start participating in RPs. Members could be distribute to more than one RP,.but maybe one RP wojld be better. Who knows. This group could have a little fame by makeing people from other know about them. A cool little side thing. And this is a wild idea, but maybe there could be incentives for the group after completing an RP. That could vary. And who knows? Maybe a rival RP team could form

But like I said, it's JUST an idea.

I have to agree with the school-type RP things. Those look totally boring... I've never been in one, but I dunno if I'm even willing to try it out. Usually, I'd try to search with something that has a little more action than my everyday life. Maybe that sort of justifies my reasoning for why I don't really like video game based RPs. I can see how they become good with the added imagination of the writer, but I'd rather just come up with something on my own still.

Sparda, that's kind of why I made this thread. I wanted to make a new RP with everyone's ideas together, with a lot of creativity going into it. I want to make a new RP with everyone's hand in it so more people will cooperate.

And, I stopped Mercanaires due to a few reasons:

People kept trying to make each other more important. For example, Zabuza's skipping around the country in 1 or 2 posts, doing everything he could to level up was one thing that made lose faith.

Also, Few people stayed true to their assignment. I was trying to emphazise we were only humans, but people wanted to be the best...

That's I quit that.

Xeo Emblem, though based on a good idea, left no room for creativity. It was just kind of move, attack, try to describe.

Also, Everyone has their own opinion. I know some people like video game RPs, others don't. And so, I was trying to see what the majority liked, and base something on that.

Another thing, if there is one thing I do not like, it is RPs based on school or stuff like that. They bore me so fast.

And Sparda, yes, it's only an RP, but that doesn't stop it from being fun and meaning something to us. We lead normal lives (I think, at least I do ) and we still enjoy stories. Why can't we take interest in things we enjoyed?

A little sad? Seems like you were destroyed from my point of view. But regardless, like I said before, if you're desperate for another hit RP, then why not attempt to start your own? You've seen something you like in Innocence Gone. Why not try to absorb it and make it your own work but creating something that's unique yet does justice to its predecessor?

Huh? Where did suicide come from? I was just a little sad because we didn't get a chance to finish the story; I personally loved the story so much, that my friend and I are working on a webcomic, as I must've stated a million times now.
Also, apparently, the RP must've meant something to the bulk of the RP community, or else it wouldn't have gotten as far as it has.

Admit it though, Sparda; Innocence Gone was the best one out there. It blended so many genres, and had a few cult followers (myself included) that weren't even from this board. It was insanely popular. Yes; the whole "rebellion"theme is getting kinda old; people tried to emulate the Innocence Gone vibe, and failed miserably. Now the theme seems to be wars (which I admittedly kicked off). My only wish is for Innocence Gone to be properly finished, like it should've been, and not killed off so ungloriously.

I'm sorry, but that's just scary. It almost seems to me that you're going to commit suicide because that RP was closed. You seriously may want to think it over. It's just an RP. RPs come and go. Killed off so ungloriously? Perhaps every single one of my RPs were killed off ungloriously. At least 60% of them were great if not good RPs that could have gotten somewhere. If you're so desperate for another RP like it, why not just make your own?

Oh, and I refuse to admit anything. =P I took one look at that RP and hated it. ^_~
