I saw this movie with a friend and I thought the first 30 minutes was nothing BUT A BUNCH OF CRAP but then it got into becoming a total bad ass when kong was taking on so many rex's it was freaking sweet I give this movie 10 thumbs up if I had them. |

Even though people are saying how much WotW sucked, I still recommend that you see it. I didn't like it, but I'm still glad that I can say for myself that I don't like it.
Anywho, sorry for going off topic there... I'm going to try and see Kong next weekend or quite possibly this Tuesday...not sure about Tuesday, the movie is like 3 hours long isn't it? **shrugs** |

You should hurry to see this Katana, it's definitely something that needs to be seen in theaters! |

I have yet to see the movie. I have high expectations for it though, Peter Jackson is really giving himself quite a name as a director...but I have this thing with not seeing why the re-makes can't stick with the original. Like, why re-make a really good movie that was made years ago, add some cool special effects, but change the movie? Like "War of the Worlds"...the original kicked ass! 'Least I thought it did...I would've been extremely pleased to see that very same movie only with the technology that we have today. Don't get me wrong, I do understand that things really have to be changed sometimes, but there's a way to do it.
So...biggest reason for my high expectations of the film...when I saw the trailer for "King Kong" when I saw "War of the Worlds", I knew it was Kong not 15 seconds into the trailor. Why? Because I've seen the oringinal dozens of times and from that trailer, it was VERY close to the original. Gah...I hope I made some sense there. |

Why 9.5/10? Given the fact that Ann ditch the other guy (the writer?) for King Kong and he risked all of HIS life through out the movie. Sure, I can understand the relationship between King Kong and Ann, but look at the writer! Not only he have to find a path for raged-filled Gaint Gorillaz, he also "saved" Ann from being the main dish for the unknown world. And in the end, just when he "drove" Kong to Ann, Ann didn't care about him! Talk about Ann being a little *itch. Show more feelings, people! That and that ugly shaman who flipped everyone off. (I'm not kidding. She does give the middle finger.) |

I have it, beat it, got all the unlockables, got the other ending, loved it.
In some cases, the game was just as an amazing masterpiece as the movie, but overall I kinda prefered the movie. |

Dude, I saw Kong today. I more than agree that is an incredible movie in all aspects.
This was the second movie I've ever felt truly sad for. That is an accomplishment. Kong didn't deserve that fate. Also, the action sequences were 'effin amazing. I have not seen crazier stuff like when the worm ate the chef's head. O.O 11/10 Said Xeo. I fullheartedly agree. And guys, it's a fantasy. Cut it some slack. |

Originally posted by The Politician Said the giant angry penises with teeth. Hear, hear! Originally posted by The Politician Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa... In the shape of a skull? Okay, if I remember correctly, based on physical layout of the island and with the detail they provided, there wasn't two large lakes, most of them are mountains-terrian, there are a huge forest, and a river.. Did they even show the whole physical layout of the island? No, they just say it. And the word you are looking for is "Skull Island". Just because they say it doesn't make it a island that is shaped like a skull. Skull Island is just a enchanted tropical island where that ugly woman (who give the audience the bird) preformed daily traditional. Overall, it is a good movie. If Kong has grabbed Ann and ran in the forest with her, I see that Ann would already died due to blunt force to the head. Who the hell she is, Wonder Woman? However, the storyline (desprite of some inaccurate stuff) may be different, but it kept true to the animal-human relationship. Man, that guy who just took Kong to Ann... I can't believe Ann. She didn't say how rude to Kong when he friggen risks his life just to calm him down!!! |

I know everything wasn't kept true, but the Dinosaur fight, basically was.
Also, Dinosaurs? It's a lost, ancient island in the shape of a skull. It's full of wonder and mystery. The dinosaurs are just one of it's wondrous things. Look at Kong. He's a GIANT Gorilla. Where do you see Gorillas that size? Look at those bugs. They're GIANT bugs, some of them, might not even be 'real'. So, Dinosaurs are just part of the fantasy part of the island. Also, it's the 1930's. Not 1830's. |

The problem is... The Politician, they didn't kept every part of the story true. Example: King Kong wasn't suppose to be dead. I think they kept him alive and sent him back where he belong. Also, didn't King Kong suppose to pick a lady who was playing a paino inside the building too?
And there are some part in the movie that disturbing like those giantic angry penises with teeth. Oh, and it was good too. However, there was so many questions that would bring the movie to no sense mode. Example.... When King Kong grabbed Ann and marched into the jungle with her, the amount of passage including the tree branches and the amount of strength Kong have was just unexplainable. I mean, the girl would already died by the time King Kong made his first stop! I don't know when it was set in (1830ish) but... Dinosaurs? |

For those who have not seen the original, the fight between him and the V-Rex's, they kept true to his finish.
Spoiler:
Kong played with it's broken jaw, then poked it a couple times. he did exactly the same thing in the original. Oh, and Bombman is dead. Get over it. Although in the new one, there were a couple "classic" fight scenes missing. Oh well. |

The female actress was gorgeous too.
What? But honestly I can't think of anyone else who would have fit that role as good as her. |

I liked the movie itself, and how incredible the creatures and surroundings in it were, but the later third or so of the movie seemed dragged out, and jack black was getting less funny and more stupid. The main reason I looked forward to this movie though was to see a a giant ape 'wrassle' a dinosaur or two, and that's exactly what I got. |

Kong - Sad fucking movie. Saw it today. It was great, awesome fight scenes, good visuals, and freakin' emotional. Man I felt so bad for Kong.
I give it a: . The mixed feelings while watching it. |
Xeoman Posts: 2752/11757 |
I'd disagree. It leaves room for a lot of character development and such. Plus, this movie is 3 hours long, so I really didn't see a problem. |
天国JOE Posts: 636/2999 |
I'm hearing great things about it. But apparently the beginning drags on? You know, the intro goes a little too long? Maybe I'll have dinner, then go to Kong half an hour in. Nah, I know I gotta see the whole thing. |
Xeoman Posts: 2751/11757 |
I'll try to put in words, just how incredible this movie was.
You all know how obsessed I was with Episode III. It made me make a temporary Star Wars forum, I made an announcement, and so on. It was better than that. Batman Begins was not only one of my favorite films of the year, but favorite movies ever, and easily my favorite Superhero movie. It was better than that. But saying King Kong is the best film of the year, is giving it too little credit. King Kong is one of the best movies I've seen in my entire life. I saw it last night, and the movie was so impressive I wanted to cry. Not only at the end of the movie, but through several parts of the movie. You will become so attached to the characters. The music, from the beginning to the end takes this movie into an adventure. The special effects are by far unsurpassed. Easily one of the most dramatic and emotional movies I have ever seen in my entire life. 11 out of 10. |
