It's didn't, but I got it. And, my buddy that's in Iraq actually told me that it was okay as long as I didn't hit on him. I told him he was way under my league.

Not quite the looker, he is.

Anyway, I need to put some pants on and get out of the house.

I think a lot of people are just insecure. When I find out someone is gay or bi, it's like "oh, ok,. cool." not "Oh, ok... as long as they don't hit on me." People who think and say that are just insecure about how this person will act now that they know the truth about their sexual preference.

And like you said, Zabuza, you're not (all) out to constantly hit on people because you're gay or bi, but some people like to make it clear that if you were feeling like you needed someone that they didn't like you in that way.

I don't know if that made any sense or not. Heh.

Watch out boys, I'm making advances on all of you! Ha!

I mean, only ignorantly stupid people think that because one is gay or bi, we're constantly out to hit on people. What? Just because you're straight, you're not out to hit on people either?

Several of my bestest friends are straight and guys, and they have no problem around me because I'm not the flamboyant, dance around them, all hugs and kisses, gay man. I'm just one of the guys...that happens to like other guys. I don't hit on them (cuz they're my friends, and that's ew...) and I don't talk about other guys in front of them. I respect their wishes. And, we're all still cool. One's in Iraq, the other is my shooting and government buddy.

Besides, I'm taken as it is...and I'm not even thinking about sex all day long. Stop trying to stereotype your friends.

More and more of my friends are popping up gay and bi... and I really don't have a porblem with it aslong as the don't make any... shall we say... advances... *glares at spartan*... course... as long as I'm careful about what sweatshirt I wear... I should be safe... but it does seem like some people have problems with finding out that the people around them are gay or bi... something about being decieved or... frustrated... *glares at Shaddow*... but In general it doesn't bother me...

Yeah, well, I'm not your typical flamer gay man. Hell, I don't even know what category I fall into. It's just a sexual preference, it's not my entire lifestyle. I'm still a man, I still go to work, I still go about my life. Gayness is just an aspect of my life.

If it helps me get jobs and scholarships, then woo-hoo.

Coping? What is there to cope about?

Heh my brother would always says that too. Another one of his quotes is "I hate fairies and queens make us look bad." =P It's been said all the time in this house all the time whenever my gram and gramps aren't around.

Well, I was away for the weekend, so I couldn't comment until now.

I'm doing fine. We (me and the friend) would still be talking, but we're almost never online at the same time anyway, so... yeah. It was just a bit of a surprise then, but I've gotten over it by now.

During the 1984 quake in California, being five years old, I was locked in my closet because a bookshelf had fallen across the door. When I was five, I knew I was different but I didn't know what it was. Years later, I validated that I knew I was gay from a young age. An hour or so after the earthquake, I was able to come out of the closet. Years later, I officially "came out of the closet" to mostly everyone except the elders in my family. My mom strictly forbids the older generation of knowing. Devout Catholic family.

But, "Closet are for clothes, not people."

I can understand how you'd be a little shocked, but not enough to alter your friendship in any way. Also, I too have never had any friends who have proclaimed their homosexuality.

Oh, I hate the term "coming out of the closet." I think it's not really fair to the homosexuals who it refers to. But, eh, what do I know?

Heh. I remember the first time I was going to meet a bunch of friends at the local bowling alley. As we were approaching, Ryan turns to me and says "Kevin, Blarg (we know him as Blarg online), is gay, so try to refrain from saying anything that might offend him."

I was nervous. I'd never met a gay person! I didn't have anything against them, but I didn't know how he was going to act. I got to know him, and now I'm not bothered.

I don't have any friends who just "came out of the closet" after me knowing htem for a while first, so I don't really know how I'd react. Just give yourself some time to get used to it, and hopefully you'll feel comfortable sooner rather than later.

Wasn't expecting that, were you? Yeah, I'm gay, but it doesn't rule my life. I just happen to like men and sleeping with men, and the male form. Tis all.

I'm glad you're not doing the whole freak-out thing either. But, hey, to each their own. Homosexual marriage is gay.

Hey think on the bright side. Atleast you got someone who can help you with your more emotional problems.

Unless your friend is more of a butch like my brother, then you got a problem. That was a joke.

Having a gay friend is not a bad thing. Yes, it can be very surprising to find out something like that, but it shouldn't change the friendship status you have with him. As for who it is, I'm not completely sure. I do have a guess, but I don't think that's who it is.

Well, seen how you wont deal with the whole "Oh my God your friends GAY!?!?!" thing...I'd just like to say....Deal with it

If you havent forgotten, alot of males and females here on this board is gay...so what?

well, I know how it feels to have one of your friends to be gay. All I can really say is that respect the fact that he is and just move on with life...

...in fact thats really what ANYBODY would say here...but meh...its just me...

Hmn... well, it is always a surprise when someone comes out of the closet and you had no idea before hand. One of my best friends from middle school came out of the closet and before that I had NO idea. I was more shocked that I didn't figure it out than anything out.

At least you're not doing the whole "omg, my friend is gay... *freaks out*" thing

Title speaks for itself.

And while I'd love to say it doesn't matter, it is still a little of an awkward situation. Yeah, we only talk online now, but we had been offline friends before we both moved (same month, actually)... I'll also point out that he's somewhat active at a couple boards I go to (this one not included), but I'm keeping further details quiet (one more and Cyro could easily guess, I'd bet) since I'm not sure how open he's being about this right now.

But yeah... awkward situation here. I'm trying not to be bothered by this, but some things are just a bit too much of a surprise to just accept immediately.

((I also post this in warning to everyone. Gaybashing will no longer be met with a friendly "please don't say that" from me... not that I ever was that nice to begin with.))
