Oh yes, this is an excellent game. It took me a couple of tries to beat the 10K HP final boss at the end, but it was worth it. I like the battle system, it's very original (at least of the games that I've played). Yeah, this is a long game, there's plenty of cutscenes and towns to see and plenty to do, you will not be bored. I think I bought this game on sale, so I was lucky. Also, for people that have beaten the game, you get to see all the cutscenes from the game.

Cyro: It came out over here in 2004... not that old. The graphics are great, anyway.

Kaijin: I wanna play the first game, but it's hard to find... Not even Ebay has it in stock. Meh.
BTW, Anastasia is adorable. It's neat that some characters are based on historical figures.

This is easily one of the best games around for the PS2. Personally my fav PS2 RPG.

The game takes place with Yuri once more. Karin is just a side character, but with a larger plot then the others. This game is the first game to acctually want me to play the first game again, and make it feel like I'm continuing it!

The real story at the end of the game will blow the socks off your feet, fore chances are you will never guess the real backgrounds to teh characters. x-x.

And yes, theres two endings to the game.

Spoiler:

Whent he little girl in your soul askes what your Happiness is, that will decide eithe rhte Good or the Bad ending. [\spoiler]

I've seen an magazine cover add for this at my friend's place all the time. I pick it up and take a look once in a while. He's says people say it a good game and I can believe it. It must be pretty old though. 2 years, maybe??

This is a little-known RPG for PS2. I bought barnd new it for a mere £6:00... and it's fucking awesome. The direct sequel to Shadow Hearts, you really don't need to play the first one to understand it, heck I didn't and the story makes sense to me.
It's not set in some fantasy land, the future or anything like that, it's set in Europe and Asia in the early days of World War One, 1915.
Yuri, the hero from the last game, gets cursed a secret society, making him lose all his powers he gained. The other characters you gain are not your standard RPG fare- a female German army officer, a weird old puppeteer with freaky female puppet, a wolf who's smarter than anyone else in the party, a washed up superhero who's also a vampire and a pro-wrestler, etc...

The plot is excellent, and is always twisting to keep you guessing. The characters are believable and have realistic personalities. At first glance, Yuri seems like your standard emotionless "Squall" guy, but he's a lot more complex than that. He's sarcastic, jokey, perverted, angsty, funny, short tempered, and belivable. He's the most likable RPG main character I've seen.
The game is very serious and dark, but also laugh-out loud funny at times, with some genuinely hillarious dialogue.
The battles are the best bit though. They're turn based random battles, but to raise it above standard the Final Fantasy affair they're something called a Judgement Ring, which is used for everything, attacks, spells, items, you name it. Basically, when you select an action, a ring turns and you need to hit specific areas in order to be successful. Hitting smaller bands on the ring results in getting stronger attacks. You can upgrade the ring to get more attacks (but this makes it harder to hit), make Hit Areas of the ring larger, and customise it to suit your needs. (For example, there are easier rings for beginners)
It's large, too. I'm 30 hours in and only on Disk 1 of 2. Anyway, what more can I say? Just buy this game! Buy it now!
