Then again, I only played about 15 or so hours into the game ...

I guess the Laws really didn't bother me, but it was mainly my disliking to the way classes were, and how you gained AP (through equipment). Yeah, it worked smoothly in FFIX, but this was just different.

I just think it took to much time to make your classes better, and to try to switch to a new one, for FFTA to be that great of a game.

See, none of that was the reasoning behind my dislike of FFTA. Aside from the laws, which contributed to the game's easiness if you toyed with them a bit.

First, once you start in a certain class, you're trapped there. Since there's no multipliers like in FFT (where your stats changed just by changing classes, but there was still different growth to consider), if you go from Paladin to Black Mage, you'll still have a Paladin's (lack of) magic power. In FFT, if you went from Knight to Wizard, yeah, you'd be a bit lower on MP, but the multipliers would help you a bit.

Second, there was no one overpowered ability. They were all overpowered, and your opponents didn't have any of them. Therefore, exceptionally easy game.

As mentioned before, the laws make the game easy. You can completely destroy a boss with a low-level Antilaw card. The Crystals a problem? Use a Ban on Charm. Babus being a pain? Ban Target Area and use the Reflex reaction. These cheap combos are everywhere, and easy to get.

Combos? Just another way to overpower your team while leaving the opponents completely helpless. And the enemies NEVER HAVE THEM.

And I found the inability to rename units to be quite an annoyance, but that's just a minor thing really.

Wow, Seven is teh woot, but I am sad at how 8 isn't getting votes. It's kinda depressing. I love 8 and 7, though I haven't finished 8. They don't really explain anything in it. It's a shame. And they are starting to throw in corny plot twists.

Ugh, yeah FFTA is pretty low on my list too.

It was alright ... but, I hated the Equipment = Skills idea, and it seemed to take FOREVER to level up classes. And the whole "Rules" system was just outright annoying.

For a portable game, it's not horrible, but nothing compared to FFT in my opinion.

Syntax, that option is called shutting the fuck up and not posting in the thread. It's a very simple concept. I do the same thing when polls about Mortal Kombat or most MMORPGs are posted at Acmlm's. I simply smile, nod, and avoid the thread except for moderation purposes (catching flaming, spam, etc.)

Oh, and as I see it, you 2 obviously cant talk cause you didnt vote for 9 XD

I would have, but this is FAVORITE Final Fantasy, and my favorite isn't up there, so I will not vote. My favorite, as I said, is FFT. Right behind it would be FFV, FFVI, and FFIX, in no particular order.

The bottom of my list? FFTA, FFX, FFII, and FFVII. FFIV is somewhere in the middle, and I haven't played MQ, FFX-2, or FFXI.

I think 6 had a great storyline. At least in the beginning. The second was something more along the lines of everybody's problems that you had to sit through in order to get them, but a bit less of the story. Other than that it's great. I like 10 though as well. Good graphics and music. I loved messign around with the sphere grid trying to get everyone's filled up. I accomplished that only with Tidus and managed to get more than halfway with everybody else. FFX-2 sucked in my opinion. However, in all seriousness, it is a good game if you like Charlie's Angels. The only thing I like about it is some of the magic and a couple of the music tracks. That's pretty much it. But....I think it was worth playing to the end just once.

FFVI is easily my top favorite. It's the only FF where I liked 99% of the characters, that had the coolest villian, the greatest score, and that made me play through it completely 3 times.

My only complaint is, that it's a very short game. Well, not extremely, but when you compare it to FFVII-FFIX (which I hit over 70-80 hours on each of those), it's about 60% shorter. Took me about 30 hours to beat it on my first complete run through on Anthology, but I managed to hit about 50 on the SNES version, because I became obsessed, and 99'd some people.

Truthfully though, I like most of the FF's games a LOT.

I can never decide which one I like second:
FFIV - Pretty underated actually. Great game, decent storyline, cool characters, amazing music, and fun battling. It was overall just a very solid RPG.
FFIX - I didn't like many of the characters (honestly), but the storyline, game art (backdrops and such were amazing to look at), music, and simple things like the card game (I managed to get them all), made this one incredible game to play, and a classic.
FFVIII - This game had incredible cinema's, incredible characters, and amazing music. I just thought the storyline got a little goofy towards the middle part, the whole "Equip a GF and forget stuff", and so on from there was just weird. The gameplay was too basic also, Junctioning was way to easy to control and overpower your characters with (so basically, this game was extremely easy).
FFVII - A pure classic in my opinion. Completely overated at times, there's way too many fanboys, and all that stuff, but I still think it's an incredible game. The characters were -decent-, but the setting was pretty cool. The post-chaos world of Shinra was a great setting. The music, even though as goofy as it sounded (compared to other FF's, the quality just seemed low) was pretty amazing. The materia system was great, and even after I maxed out all of my characters, I had fun Maxing out Materia, and getting Rare Materia's to split, and so on.

I like those games, probably all equally. Final Fantasy V was alright, but the only thing I thought was "special" about it, was the Job System. I and II were decent, but a little too basic and straight foward for me.

I won't get started with X ... I just, can't stand that game. Whenever I think about it. But, I will give it credit for having an incredible soundtrack. Haven't played X-2, and because I didn't enjoy X very much at all, I probably never will.

Tactics was amazing also. I'd probably rate it #2 on the "Best Character Development" scale after FFVI. It was just sometimes hard to get into, because battles took extremely long to finish.

So, yeah. Guess I'm done.

Pretty much all the FF had the same story line with small tweaks to it. Hero is metro sexual or a chic. There are 2 to 3 uber badguys that DONT SEEM TO DIE WHEN YOU KILL THEM (DAMN YOU SEYMOR AND JENOVA). All the summons are the same guys but with updated looks. Oh, and dont forgot the anti hero/rival that is always hanging around (Like Sepiroth). The only original games in the whole series are Mystic Quest and FFT really... And I liked MQ (you could jump whenever, WOOP!!)

Seven holds a nice place with me cause it was the first one I ever played, not becuase everyone else loves it... I like 8 more then X and slightly more then 7 cause it was the only one to kinda break the general storyline that almost all FF follow.

I liked FFIX.

Infact it was my favorite.

FFVII is overrated, IMO (heck, if you look at it, it has a pretty standard storyline)

8 and below were the best. 9 was a bunch of characters that looked like kids (if I wanted to play a kid, I would play Kingdom Hearts, which is way better then 9 in story and characters). 10 Was okay, it was nearly on level with 7 and 8, but there were some problems. X-2 was fan-boy service (woot), and 11was online (which is kinda cool).

Anyway, where is FFT? That game outclasses the rest here (cause you can get Cloud as a character).

Im not following the path of sheep, if I could vote for 2, I would have pick 7 and 8. 9 could have never been released here and no one would care about it.

Oh, and as I see it, you 2 obviously cant talk cause you didnt vote for 9 XD

That wasn't my reasoning.

My reasoning is that if you're gonna follow the path of the sheep, don't insult those who disagree with you.

Besides, I thought FFIX was a better game than FFVII...

You fail horribly. We're talking F- here.

Where's FFT?

Desroth: Hah, the way I see it, after voting for the most overrated game on the PSX, you are in no position to complain about someone else's votes.
