As much as I love the ground-breaking PSX game, I do like the Twin Snakes better... but not by that much. It's only a few minor things, like being able to shoot while in first person to make more effective shots and the amazing graphic overhaul. Seriously, after being used to the newer games then going to the first one, It was a bit hard to see.
And Xeo, the music didn't bother me a bit. |

I can't really decide, as I love the original because it was the original, and as you said the sound tracks were brilliant. Plus, the voices sounded better on this one. They replaced half of the voices on TTS, especially Mei Ling's.
The Twin Snakes did have first person shooting on any weapon, better graphics and whatever, and had the cool little Mario and Yoshi figures that revived your life during the Ninja battle. Although I would say sod them both, MGS: Special Missions (VR Missions in the US) was way better than them both. |

Well, I recently got my hands on a nice copy of the original MGS for the PSX. I owned it years and years ago, but traded it in a long time ago, but now that I'm real big on collecting ... and I wanted such a classic again, I'm playing it again.
But, before I got it, I bought the Twin Snakes maybe a month ago or so. I honestly could not get into it, and I just don't know why. I'm usually a big fan of remakes, because of the newer graphics and everything, but I just couldn't seem to get into TTS. One of the biggest reasons why I really don't like TTS, is the new music. I just wonder why they completely changed the old OST, which was by far one of the best OST's on the PSX. So, recently I've been finding myself playing the original, and loving every minute of it, and I don't think I'll be going back to play much of TTS anytime soon. Which version was more fun for you? |
