Those rules are posted in my school. I found it pretty funny. Especially the last one. The "cool" kids act so dominate and put down the nerds, but once it gets to out of the school, it's the nerds that are in control. AND being succesful.  |

Overall these are good rules and it would be wise for people to learn this before they graduate high school. It makes life a little easier in my opinion. |

I believe I have it somewhere an article quoting Bill Gates, he used those rules once in one of the speeches he gave out somewhere.

Those are actually good rules to go by. There are of course some things that aren't always like what was list, but for the most part it's right on the money. But you know, if you think about it, maybe those rules apply mostly to people living here in America. I'm sure there are other countries that are relaxed about a few of statements listed. |

In his book, he talks about how the feel-good, politically correct has created a generation of kids with no concept of reality, which has set them up for failure in the real world. The following is a list of real-life rules tha tyou might want to share with your kids and friends.
RULE 1: Life is not fair; get use to it. RULE 2: The world won't care about your self=esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something, BEFORE you feel good about yourself. RULE 3: You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president. RULE 4: If you think yoru teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He dosn't have tenure. RULE 5: Flipping burgers, is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a diffrent word for burger flipping; they called it oppertunity. RULE 6: If you screw up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes. Learn from them. RULE 7: Before you were born, your parents wern't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying yoru bills, cleaning yoru clothes, and listening to you talk bout how cool you are. So before you save the rain forest from the bloodsucking parasites of yoru parents' generation, try delousing the closet in yoru own room. RULE 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers but life has not. in some schools they have abolished failing grades; they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This, of course, doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life. RULE 9: Life is not divided into semesters. you dont' get summers off, and very few employers are interested in helping you find yoruself. Do that on yoru own time. RULE 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life, people acctually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs. RULE 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one. |
