Gamepro mentioned it was probably someone from Nemesis ... Carlos or something?

Eh, I don't know about that. I've played RE1 and that guy does somewhat resemble Chris, and I've heard a LOT more sources hint that it is him, compared to someome from RE3.

That is freaking Chris!

Anyone whos played, slaughtered, pwned, or just bought Resident evil 1/remake/Code Veronica would know how Chris walks, holds his gun, sheaths his knife, and how he looks.

I'll even freakin bet money on this too!

Trailer

It's not much at all, but enough to get the blood going.

I'm really excited to see they're keeping the same gameplay style from Resident Evil 4, but judging by the short plot analysis, it seems like I'll need to play most of the other Resident Evil's to get the most out of this one.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to this one.

(I'm sorry, I know I'm not suppose to double post, but I just had to relay this info)

Takeuchi talks Resident Evil 5

Main character of Capcom's project still unidentified. Next-gen hardware means real physics, meticulous detail, 60 frames per second, and nonlinear gameplay.

In an interview published in the latest issue of Famitsu Xbox, Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi revealed new information regarding Resident Evil 5. The game is currently in development for Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360, and does not yet have a release date.

Takeuchi began by emphasizing the level of detail that his staff has put into the development of RE5's trailer, which was shown at Sony's PlayStation meeting and Microsoft's Xbox Summit in Japan. The trailer depicts a lone man exploring a desert city, and a silhouetted group of assailants, presumably zombies (although much more fleet-footed than past Resident Evil games), bearing down on the character.

Takeuchi stated that his team worked especially hard on the character's face. He said that each strand of hair of the man's beard was made out of actual polygons. The development team went as far as to actually create the muscles in the man's face, which resulted in natural-looking movement of his skin and realistic facial expressions. The developers apparently also painstakingly detailed areas of the character that aren't normally seen, such as models for each of the man's teeth. However, Takeuchi said he was unsure if the actual game will be able to feature that much detail.

While the appearance of the mystery character may be incredibly detailed, his actual identity is not. Many speculate that the character is Chris Redfield, the hero from the original Resident Evil. Takeuchi avoided revealing the character's identity, but did mention that the core developers of RE5 include members of the original RE team, and that the character is someone that the developers are fond of.

When told that the unshaven man looked a bit too old to be Mr. Redfield, Takeuchi said that the Resident Evil timeline has continued on, and the hardware capabilities of the next-generation consoles are finally allowing characters to look as old as they're supposed to. According to Takeuchi, his staff hasn't accurately represented the age of characters in previous games due to the limited performance of the platforms.

Takeuchi confirmed that that RE5 will be an authentic sequel to the series' main plot rather than a side story (as Resident Evil 4 was), and the developers are considering some kind of a conclusion to the franchise's storyline. When asked if the game will also feature some closure between Chris and Wesker's fiasco, Takeuchi said that Resident Evil 5's production is still in its early stages, so many of the details in the game are still up in the air.

As expected, Resident Evil 5 will take advantage of the PS3's and Xbox 360's high-definition graphics. Takeuchi hopes to use real-world physics in the game so objects will react realistically when the player shoots them. Takeuchi said he is considering adopting third-party middleware for its physics engine, such as Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3.

The gameplay of RE5 should be similar to Resident Evil 4, which adopted an over-the-shoulder third-person camera. According to Takeuchi, Resident Evil 4 stirred a lot of excitement at Capcom, since director Shinji Mikami had successfully made major changes while still keeping the essence of the series intact. Takeuchi also said that he plans to run the game at 60fps, which is double the frame rate of previous installments in the series.

Takeuchi commented that he recently played "Half-Life 2," and he was impressed by how the game's storyline progressed without the need for the player to raise any conditional flags in the game. While he didn't say that he'll take an identical approach, he did say that RE5 is a "next-generation game" and should reflect that in its gameplay. In addition, Takeuchi emphasized he doesn't want RE5 to be too linear, where all that the user does is clear a stage, watch a cutscene, and then follow instructions to go to the next stage.

When asked about its release date, Takeuchi explained that next-gen projects easily spend three to five years in development. He added the title is Capcom's current priority. He added that additional information on RE5 wouldn't be released until next year. Gamers can get a glimpse of the work in progress by watching the game's high-definition trailer at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show.

RE1 or RE 3.
RE 2 was the oddball one, but it is definently worth checkign out.

And for the record, theres a major diffrence between RE 2, and RE 2- Dual Shock.

Dual Shock gave you an unlockable Battle Mode, Rookie mode (gives you unlimited ammo with a machine gun) and makes life easier.

Original just gives you normal or Hard, and gives you Hunk, and Tofu as secret `Mission` (not modes)

Yes, Tofu is a walking bar of tofu (Imitation Meat), holding a knife.

So is RE2 perhaps the best of the older ones?

Haha good ol' secret RE 2 characters, HUNK was a lot easier to play as and is a lot more kick ass than Tofu. If you can beat that level with Tofu, kudos to you.

XD

HUNK... thats all we know for his name.

He was a secrect character from Resident Evil 2. HUNK is part of the Umbrella Bio Hazzard and Rescue Squad. (Or just Virus retreval, for the simple minded.)

Hunk is simply one of the most badasss SWAT-liking guys you'll see.

Wesker was pretty hard to get.

Trying to beat the water level with Leon seemed almost impossible, once those giant guys with the double Chainsaw's came out, it was over. The pistol and shotgun just seemed worthless. But then I finally beat that level with Ada, I was sniping a lot and was able to get a lot of distance from those huge guys, and took them down with the rifle.

Also ... who the heck is HUNK?

And anyone know of any Resident Evil 5 info? I'm totally getting it the day it comes out.

Weasker is my fav ^^;

Weasker is like a mix between Leon and Krauser. He has all the guns you need to slaughter your foes, and when you get the chance to 'stun kick them' he does a matrix plox driving punch that takes the enemy accross the screen, and anything else with him XD

Well I unlocked everyone for The Mercanaries.

It was actually kind of hard at first, but once I got Ada, it was all over.

Playing as Krauser is really fun since he has that powerful attack, and same with Wesker since he's got a nice little Magnum.

Looking up Resident Evil 4 for images, I sadly stumbled upon this:

Unlock the mercinaries in RE4, and you can play with Ada's red dress in that, lol.
bet you just wanted to see up her skirt when she flips up rocks

Cought

RE0, as stated before, tells the story of Rebecca Chambers, and what happens to lead her to the Mansion. RE 1 dosn't even show Weasker at his fullest.

If you want the Full Respect for Weasker, play Resident Evil Code Veronia.

Weakser is the only man I know who can knife down 12 zombies, 5 hunters, and however many dogs without taking a hit, and making it look easy o.O

Last night was a very depressing night, yep I beat the game.
I so wanted to tear in joy.

I beat Assignment Ada, I was somewhat disappointed with how short it was, and to see that you didn't get to play as Ada in her red dress.

And so ...
Spoiler:
Some of my questions were left unanswered. Is Resident Evil 5 going to take place almost directly after this game? To settle the conflict with Ada, and Wesker, the rebirth of Umbrella, and so on perhaps? That would make it seem like we'll be playing as Leon yet again, and with that I'm not complaining.

I have got to give this game a 9.8 out of 10. One of the best freaking games I've played in a long time.

So now I should probably go back and finish RE1, that or start up on Zero.
That is of course, unless I'm not pulled into playing RE4 again on my 2nd round, and Professional mode.

Krauser was only in this game. So you're not missing anything on his backround.

Wesker is badass extraordinaire. You get to play as him in Mercenary mode. Yay!

Looks like I need to go back and finish RE1 then.

(after I'm not obsessed with RE4 that is. )

O.O DUDE!~
Xeo, thats the saddest thing I've heard...
Spoiler:

Wesker IS teh big time bad guy. Buy RE1, play it, beat it, love it. You will learn that Wesker is teh reason everything goes wrong with the Virus's. he betrayed everyone to get the killed. He is the one who helped develop the T-Virus.

He is also in Code Veronica.

Buy the games. Beat them. You'll understand.

Spoiler:
Wesker is my fav badguy in the game. He ranks up there with Sephiroth ^^;

Hmm, well in that case next time I go to the store I'll probably get RE: Zero, since I usually see it for about $15, I wouldn't say that's bad at all. I also always see tons of PSX copies of RE2, maybe I'll just go ahead and get that too?

On a side note: Resident Evil 4 is beyond awesome. Salazor just threw me down into the sewers of the castle, where I have to fight his "right hand man". A part where you're constantly dodging his tail when it pops out of the ground and ceiling, and so on ... it's pretty freaky.

And what other RE game is Ada Wong from?

Resident Evil 2.........where I first fell in love with her.

Does this mean you haven't played 2!? Her reappearance is supposed to be a humongo plot twist.....

Gah, now this is disappointing.

In other words, yeah, I haven't played Resident Evil 2, so ...
Spoiler:
With her appearance and Krausers, I really have no idea what's going on. Nor do I have a clue who this "Wesker" guy is, he just sounds like a big time villian.

But oh well, I do plan on going back and playing all of the series since it really does seem interesting. Does the first one have much of a storyline though, compared to the others? I've played a good bit of RE1 and it doesn't really seem like it has that much of a plot.

I can't put into humane words how much I'm loving this game, every day / night it usually sucks me in for a solid 3-4 hours.

The storyline seems to be really heating up now, I don't want to say much, because I don't want anyone to tell me how much more of the game I have, or even hint it. I'd like to experience this game until it ends for me, and not expect it to end at some point.

Side notes: I bought Zero a few days ago, for about $15.
And Shuyin, there can only be one man in Ada Wong's life, and it must be me!
