To be totally honest, I've already had my dream wedding. Yes I've been married before, to my son's father. We planned the wedding in 2 months.
It was in a church, very sweet. I had my dream wedding dress, beaded top & everything. I wore my aunt's wedding veil, & my grandmother's pearls. It really was my dream wedding. I would love my ACTUAL dream wedding, getting married at Disneyland Hotel in the Rose Garden, but that's not possible (money). So I don't know if I really have a dream wedding. I think when I get married again, it'll just be for me & my fiancee, something romantic & sweet. Who knows. |

I want mine inside one of those bouncy houses (that kids parties sometimes have) filled with hydrogen and the ceremony will take place as the bouncy house is being dropped from a helicopter 555 yards over hollywood/highland train station and once we reach 230 feet we would all jump out and parachute down as the bouncy house is automaticly ignited and explodes in a giant fireball with confetti and melted bounce house raining down to announce our union...*sigh*...guess i am just an old fashioned hopless romantic.... |

Can't have a Star Wars wedding without your favorite charrie and favorite ship. (well, the MF and Han are my favs) But that would be neat...like in that scene in "Return of the Jedi", when Emperor Palpatine arrived...nice little isle to walk down if I do say so myself. |

Originally posted by Katana Nah, I'd rather have a crapload of Stormtroopers, along with Darth Vader at his best attending the wedding in a big open space (like one of the landing docks), then be cramped in the Millenium Falcon with a glare-tastic protocol droid who won't shut up, an R2 unit who backtalks and always gets into trouble, a loud stinky Wookie, a princess, a smuggler who has a Bounty on his head by one of the Galaxies biggest crimelords, and a wuss boy who needs a diaper change every hour or so. |

No...no ideas yet... So tough...going from laughing when the kid tells a bathroom joke in class (like yesterday a kid farted, and I laughed my ass off), to talking about weddings... Though the Death Star sounds pretty cool...hmmm....'how 'bout the Milleniumn Falcon?
And Jen...where's that dress?! You said you designed it...so post it damn it! |

Well, I wanted my wedding (when it coems in about oh...some years up ahead) to be on the Death Star, but nooooo...it had to be destroyed! I wouldn't mind it at night (the ceremony), under a full et of stars, and the moon and everything. And a river or something, so it can all reflect off of it. Kinda corny, but it would be quite pleasant and pretty. But then of course, if it's at night, there won't be much time for "afterwards" stuff, other than some late night after wedding partying. w00t. |

Oooh... so it's more of like a party than a ceremony. I mean it is, but there's still some fun in it. I'd like to jump over a broom, lol, but I'm too... I dunno, reserved for that. I would, just not at my wedding.
My mum has a license to marry people, she did something like that, took a cord and bound the bride and goom's hands together. Or something. I wasn't there, but she had a script, and I read it. Looked interesting. And Venom : no. Just no. Come up with anything yet, Katie? |

A handfasting is a Wiccan ceremony. (it might be the same for other pagan religions but I'm not positive.) It can be done in such a way as to be legally recognized by the state. It's a fairly simple ceremony as far as I understand it though I'm no expert and amon other things consists of binding one of the bride and grooms hands together with a ribbon and they also jump over a broom.
There's more to it but Elara or WhiteRose would be able to explain it better than I can my knowledge of it is not that extensive. |

*eyes fill up* Awww... Pockets, you're a sweetie
One question though: I've never heard of a handfasting, what is it? And another thing, my wedding will not be huge, but if any oif my online friends want to come, they're welcome. |
Pockets Posts: 267/838 |
I agree with WhiteRose. The ceremony really to me is not THAT important. It is important of course and I know that it will be a memory that should stick with you for the rest of your life.
Personally I already consider Heather my wife and I her husband. She's mine, I'm her's, that's all that matters to me. A simple handfasting works for me. A full out ceremony works for me. A complex involved beautiful ceremony with a huge guest list catered food flowers and music works for me. In the end the result is the same. Heather and I are bound by our feelings for each other and the desire to spend our lives together which to me is more important and lasting than any ceremony and papers saying that legally we're married. When we plan our wedding I will have some ideas to contribute of course but I say whatever she wants and will make her happy is more than enough for me. |

Honestly, though I am engaged, I never though of a dream wedding. I guess I really don't have anything set. Closet thing would be the same as Elara's pretty much. I would honestly be very happy with a simple handfasting ceremony with a few close friends there and then having a pot luck afterwards at my home. |
