Sounds interesting.... I might join, just not now.
Neat stuff, though. I'd hate to see how many keys I type a day.... I work at a call center and take orders over the phone and enter them into the computer. Then I have my laptop on which I do my side jobs, uploading my images online as a photographer, and I have to type descriptions... hehe, then there's my LiveJournal... AKA - I live on the computer |

Trust me, my computer won't slow down but my connection will from the occasional upload. I'd rather not have that, even if it is just a few kilobytes. I can go without, since I'm still on (forced) dial-up. |

Unless your computer is really old, like from the early 90's, it won't slow it down. No more that 2 MB gets installed, about that much. A game of solitaire would most likely cause a lag problem before this would. |

This is...rather wierd.
I have to agree with Zabuza, It probably will slow down your computor and seems rather pointless, although it may seem neat to see the amount oif keystrokes you actually make, simply by going to these message boards or something would be rather cool...I guess... |

I joined awhile ago ... just to have the nifty image, other than that, whatever.
I'll probably join your team in time though, Cyro. |

Hehe, it'd be a bit crazy obsess getting millions. The whole concept is just a fun thing to statistically see how many times you stike a key. Some people just take it too far is all. |

As much as I'd like another process slowing down my computer and uploading my keystrokes to some server somewhere in hopes that I can obsessively obtain some million things per day or so, I'd have to pass.
Interesting thought though, but I'll just pass this time. Maybe I can secretly install the program at school... |

Some of you, about 2-3 years ago, may have known about a site called Project Dolphin. For those who didn't, what this site did was create something that could keep track of how many keystrokes you've made on your keyboard and "pulse" it to a cool program on the site that recieved and stored each amount according to your username. So you had people there with thousands, and even millions of keystrokes recorded.
A neat thing they included was the option for teams. A registered user could create his or her own team and have other people join it. What this did was tally together the total amount of everyone's keystrokes conbined and display it, along with the number each person contributed to it. Sadly, after only a year of being up, Project Dolphin was shut down. But, I've recently discovered that they are back up and running. Many people have already joined, and I did only a few days ago. I don't know how long it's been that way, but people already have millions of keystrokes (some of which I'm sure cheated in some way). I thought it would be a good idea to have a team of my own, so I went ahead and created one, wanting people from across the Acmlm communtiy to join in an attempt to be one of the top ten teams. The name of my team is "Surreal Future", and I was hoping that some of you here at Xeogaming wouldn't mind doing so. What you have to do is register first, which only requires your name and email or something of the sort, and then download the Pulse server thing. The whole process should take less than two minutes, depending on your clicking speed. The Pulse thing automatically starts up when you install it, so you won't need to do anything else. If you'd like, Here is a link to the register page: Register From there you can easily figure out what to do next, or simply click this link to go to the download page. Dowload After that, log in to your account and click on "Search/Join a team" and type in "Surreal Future". Once there click on "Join". I thank anyone who feels like joining. You don't get any prizes or anything for having the most keystrokes, but it can be fun to build a grand amount of them. |
