That actually might be cool.
Golden Palace does all sorts of stuff to get their name out there. I heard somewhere that they pay you if you get a visible tattoo with of their name. |

Parents Sell Online Casino Right To Name Baby
TORRINGTON, Conn. -- When Melissa Heuschkel couldn't decide what to name her fourth child, she turned to the auction site eBay. Earlier this year, the Torrington woman sold the right to name her unborn baby to online casino GoldenPalace.com for $15,500. Golden Palace Benedetto was born at 3:34 a.m. Wednesday at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Heuschkel told the Republican-American of Waterbury that she'll call the baby Goldie. "It's different," Heuschkel said. "It's definitely unique, but I wouldn't say it's totally off the wall." Bidding started in February at $1. A week and 38 bids later, the naming rights were sold to GoldenPalace.com, which last year paid $28,000 for a grilled cheese sandwich supposedly imprinted with an image of the Virgin Mary. The site has paid a 400-pound South Carolina man $4,550 to put a GoldenPalace.com tattoo on his stomach for a month. Two pregnant women received about $5,000 each to put the same tattoo on their stomachs for the duration of their pregnancies. The company also has forked over $156 for a giant Frosted Flake and $650,000 to name a new species of monkey discovered in Bolivia. "This has truly become a phenomenon and has changed the way people think about marketing," GoldenPalace.com Chief Executive Officer Richard Rowe said in a news release about Goldie's birth. "It seems like there are no limits to what can be advertised." A 33-year-old Tennessee woman legally changed her name to GoldenPalace.com in March, and another baby due later this year will be named GoldenPalace.com. Heuschkel says she'll use some of the money from the auction to buy furniture for the baby. The rest will be put into a trust fund. She also says she has no plans to call Goldie anything else. "I can change it any time I want, but I'm not going to," she said. "That's what makes this crazy. The whole thing was about looking for a name. I got one. And if I was to sit here and try to come up with another name, I still couldn't." I don't know whether to applaud the money-making effort or advise the kid years down the line to hire an axe man. |

Originally posted by GuardianOni You know, that reminds me of this girl in a kindergarten class that my friend taught. Her first name was Imunique (pronounced, of course, as "I'm unique"). My friend got in trouble with the girl's parents for calling the the child "Niquie" (Nee-kee). It also reminds me of a friend of mine who said he'd name his daughter "Majority" so that whenever anyone took a vote and said "Majority rules" it would imply his daughter's name. Heh, there are thousands of ways to screw a kid up. What's more creative and pre-disposed than giving a hilarious name? |

I know someone who named their kid Abcde. This is pronounced Ab-cee-dee. The mother was fairly strange herself. She was cool.
I had a friend who was named Rusty. Rusty Carr. But we called him Scott. If I should ever brake several laws of nature and breed I want to name my son Jack Daniels Moore. Should he ever fill out government forms it will read Moore Jack Daniels. And some ppl wonder why I shouldn't have kids. (Should anyone wish to sign the partition barring me from having children it is now up to 498 people.) |

Well... as least it is not worse than Cormag, Elara... That is one of the HORRIBLE name I ever heard.
Cougar is much better than just hearing Cormag, you know. (I died of hearing that over and over...) Plus, it doesn't really matter how worse it is, because some of them thought it would "A nice ring to it" and sometime, they feel they have "resemble" of someone. |

I went to school with a girl named September Archie. I'm sorry... of all the months, why September? There was an August as well, but at least that one makes more sense than September!
Oh, and a girl legally named Sugar. I also knew a girl who's name was Elizabeth God. Her parents decided when she was born that they wanted her last name to be God, and they kept at it until the hospital put it on the birth certificate. Why? That is all I want to know, why? |

Yah...I do see the point in naming children after months of the year or something...though I do think the name April is pretty. **shrugs**
Sometimes though, a name is weird, but there's so much meaning behind it or whatever...that those cases are okay I guess. **shrugs** Even with that, parents should really consider what they're naming their kids. |

Plus, it's not the fact that whoever doesn't LIKE the names April, OR May OR June, just the fact that the girls in the family were named after the months of the year. It's like you're trying too hard.

It seem some parents are just out to ruin their kids lives with bad names...
However, there was this guy who legally had his last name changed to "Nigger" to desensitive people from the word. I'm not sure if he was black or not. Heh, I'm at a convention right now and I ran into a girl from San Diego named Suk Mi... first name pronounced "Sook." |

You know Gilgamesh is an old Babylonic poem about the King of Uruk, not exclusively FF anything. There's a TV producer named Norm Hiscock. Full name, Norman Hiscock. Try growing up with that. |

Only in the movies is the son of the devil named Damion (nice name btw). I think it mentions that his name is Memnon in the Bible or something like that.
I say if you have a daughter name her Rosemary, lol. |

I remember a story of one of my dad's co-workers having the last name Putrice, a substantially ugly name. One of the worst names for our day would be Ludwig, it just doesn't sound human anymore, or if anyone decided to name their kids after assorted Pokemon.........."Charmander, GO! You'll be late for school!" |
