Personally I don't really care if Tomatoes are veggies or fruits. All I care about is that they taste really good sliced thin on a chicken sandwich or diced and tossed into a taco. *shrugs* |

Well, since it's pretty much been said, Tomato is a fruit due to all the reason mentioned, but I think part of everyones mind will always consider the tomato a vegie.
BTW, who says you can't snack on tomatoes. I like to slice them up and put salt on them. Yum! |

You can't really go by seeds anyway. There are a few actual vegetables that have seeds in them- peppers, pumpkins. Cucumbers, was was mentioned before. Are you guys goign to consider those as fruit? I heard long ago that a tomato is considered a becuase of where it's seeds are, or something to that extent. Deep down I know it's a fruit, but I like to believe it's a vegetable. |

Get off the Seed idea, guys. Your missing a valuable point.
Veggies grow from the Ground. Fruits grow from Trees. Yes, a Tomato grows from basically a mini tree. So it's a Fruit... (Don't ask me about Corn. x-x ) |

My favorite fruit is a cucumber.....
I like to consider tomatoes vegetables. I'm fully aware on what they really are, but it satisfies some odd part of me to label them as a vegetables. Same with cucumbers, corn, and all those other vegetablish fruits. |

The tomato is a food with seeds which are encased in a pulp. THat is a fruit if I've ever heard of one. |

fruit, all fruits have seeds tomatos have seeds so therefore they are a fruit. People are just use to fruits being citris fruits or core related fruits, if you've grown up seeing a tomato as a fruit it would be a fruit and you wouldnt have any doubt, just how you see things i suppose. |

The whole thing with the seeds of a tomato is where they are. In the inner core of the fruit itself. Also, like other fruits it grows above ground and comes from a flower that needs to be pollenated. I think there are some other reasons as well, but it is a fruit even though I sometimes still think of it as a veggie. |

As someone before me has said, tomatoes are fruit. Plain and simple. Why? They have seeds. But this sorta gets you thinking..what about beans? What about corn? Are they fruit as well?
But yeah, tomato is fruit. No doubt about it. |

I think Tomato's are in the catagory of fruit because they are berries. But they are mostly considered by people as veggies. |

it's really a fruit... the only reason why it's offically considered as a veggie is because back in the olden days, there's an import tax on fruit... so to get around it, congress, or someone, offically made tomatoes a veggie... what punks -.-'
but anyways, i associate fruits as being sweet and snackable... a tomatoes arent any of that =/ |

I say its a vegetable, because i wouldn't normally associate it with fruits. |

I wouldn't say it's that debatable...
Anyway, tomatoes are a fruit, pure and simple... I used to think tomatoes were a vegetable, but then I looked it up in my favorite dictionary and it was referred to as a fruit... Now I'm a believer. |

Do you consider a tomato a veggie or a fruit?. I heard they were a fruit because they have seeds in them... where as veggies don't have seeds
I put this in here cause it's a debatable subject, so what do you think? |
