Oh... I forgot Crude... aka the sneaky game that teaches you economics. |

Yeah pretty sure that Dead in Winter game my friend picked up was $60 or more. I'd rather buy videogames lol... |

Yeah. The main reason that I have an issue with Ben buying so many of them is that normally it is just us playing them... maybe our friend Kaleb when he can come over... just because the rest of our gaming group blows.
There are a few other games that I do want though... they just cost so much that we won't buy them. Seriously, who pays $70 for a boardgame? But, I would like Alhambra and a few others. I've noticed that we tend to favor cooperative games. |

Hmmm, Carcassone, Smallworld, and Ticket to Ride are the ones I've played out of those.
Seems like a risky hobby financially. But more power to those who love it and put the money into it haha... I'm not sure I could justify too much here if this stuff only gets used once or twice a year, lmao. |

Heh... so... Ben has a mild board game obsession. And by mild I mean spends all our money on it.
Let's see... Exploding Kittens just arrived the other day, haven't had a chance to play it yet though. Formula D, Eldritch Horror, Carcassone, Smallworld, Brewmasters, Civilzation the Board Game (so fucking complicated), Acquire, Rise of Augustus (think bingo but Roman theme), Ticket to Ride, Divorce, Pirate Loot, and Pandemic are some of the things I've played recently. |

That awkward moment you're supposed to set a good example for the youngins but are struggling to hold back the laughs? haha... |

Stitch brought it over to my house to play it with my cousin's teenaged daughter and her friend (who resembled a preteen boy, but was actually 16), who were both staying with us for a month. Then he brought it over again to play it with them and the guy's mom, who was also with us.
The kid kept playing all the big, black dick cards, which his mom kept picking as the ones to win. Yeah, it totally wasn't a disturbing night. |

I don't know about you guys... but I can't believe my sister played Cards Against Humanity with my parents. That crosses the line for me haha, too awkward.
Good ol' Jenga, can't go wrong. I'd like to get the Tetris one. lol |

Well, I've been playing Jenga and matching card games with the clients...
And yeah, playing Cards Against Humanity whenever Stitch decides to cart it around and insist people play it with him. |

We need a board games thread, though there probably has been a few before. What are you guys playing lately? Besides Cards Against Humanity! My friends are slowly getting me into Magic... just need the finances to start buying my own cards. Pretty excited to build my own deck. I think that'll feel special compared to using a friends haha. We played Dead of Winter this last weekend. Took a few hours to really get going, but then it was smooth sailing and went quicker from there. Seems really cool. I used to be a big fan of Thunderstone... but I'm going to joke that it feels like the Monopoly version of Magic. 9 times out of 10, my friends and I would end up just quitting because it'd be 4am haha. This game can go on a bit long. I definitely dig that Magic is faster paced, even with 3-4 people playing. I've played lots over the years, but unfortunately I'm terrible with remembering the names of games. But maybe you guys can describe some stuff that'll ring a bell. |
