I just looked at the target. That miss was up against the hair on the left, so while it wasn't a headshot, it was closer than I thought.
Anyway, I still only consider myself a beginner. There were people on the range who were so terrible and stupid, they shouldn't have been trusted with anything more than a BB gun. I'm glad we made it home. |

Here come the pictures:
Breakfast at Canter's. Had the Monte Cristo and a plate of rugala. 
Hiking to sandstone caves in Tarzana. 
Inside Vanalden Cave. 
Visiting the bridge over a flood control, off which the T-1000 drove a truck while chasing John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgement Day. 
Visited the LAPD Museum. Here's the full-body armor worn by the North Hollywood rampage shooters. 
Shooting at zombie targets with an AK-47. 
Me with my target. I had one miss (by about an inch), one in the chest, and the rest were all headshots. 
Dinner was just Scottish bridie with whiskey gravy. It was a pretty OK day, overall. |

Yes, the Facebook has provided us an avenue to already wish you a happy birthday, but it just isn't the same as having your own thread. Also, you now have a new place to post pictures of whatever awesome thing you did today so that we can all live vicariously through you. ... you know... if we wanted to. .... which we don't. Honest.
