Honestly, when I first saw the thumbnails of the story going by on news sites, I thought it was someone bragging about the size of some huge jawbreaker.

Totally an alien eye.
Or a mermaid. Whichever you prefer. On a serious note, I'd probably put my bets on it being an eye of a certain species of Squid. I honestly have no reason why, really, other than it looks like it'd belong to a Squid in my opinion. |

So like the subject reads, this eyeball washed up on a beach in Florida and scientists have no idea what sea creature it belongs to.
