A French magazine just published a naked Muhammed cartoon.
People are worried this is going to stoke the fires more after the latest set of attacks on embassies. They're stepping up security for the French as it is. I respect the publisher for showing his face and doing interviews, especially after his office was previously fire-bombed for publishing pictures of Muhammad in the past. What a way to show that you aren't afraid of other people's bullshit. |

I had a long ass response typed out yesterday...but then my internet shat on me. Probably for the better. It would have sounded stupid.
I am by no means saying that the level to which this is being taken is right. Not in the least bit...but we go apeshit too when we're insulted. However, when I was forming this opinion, it was only after the first attack, I'm catching up on most of the reading this morning, actually...so for now I'll just second Astrophel's sentiments. |

I don't necessarily believe that "Jews did 9/11", like most of the trolls on the internet spout, but I find it funny that a Jew was root of 9/11 eleven years later.

I just don't know what to think. I mean, the guy has freedom of speech, which includes his ability to make art and it wouldn't be in keeping with our ethics to just throw him to the lions, with whom we swear we will never negotiate.
But at the same time, the guy made this thing and he's hiding like a pussy. I'd respect him more if he stood by his beliefs and was out in the open. No. He's a cowardly troll, and people are dying in other parts of the world, thousands upon thousands of miles away. .... I just now told my dad about the guy being in Cerritos and my dad goes, "You really believe that shit? This was ALLLLLLL planned. They couldn't get us on the 10th anniversary, so they think they got us now." He then went on a tirade against Islam.  |

They're protesting at U.S. embassies in 17 Middle Eastern countries, because of this piece of shit, obscure movie that this guy made who's now gone into hiding. People are getting KILLED because of a stupid movie that no one watched. The Onion has parodied this situation with this rather graphic image poking fun at the fact that whenever the prophets or deities of other faiths are depicted, followers of those religions don't lose their shit and massacre innocent people. I just cannot fucking believe this shit. |
