Originally posted by Elara Oh, no doubt. Supposedly it goes for $100 a bag, though it seems to be running between $60-80 on Amazon, and I'm sure at that price they want to make as much of it back and then some. I want another one of these. Maybe when I'm up to spending another $9 on it: |

Knowing how things work, it's probably the little espresso sized cup... kinda like what Starbucks used for Chantico when they had it. |

I don't know. I only realized this place in Artesia (in Little India, no less) had it a few months ago. I called them to ask, heard the price, and being broke I just figured I'd try it some other time. But now the place is out of business.

Ah civet cat-shit coffee... so disgusting a concept yet people love it. Though wow... $30 a cup? Was it at least a big cup? |

I'd actually been curious about kopi luwak for a few years now. It's pretty much these berries this weasel-like animal in Indonesia eats and as they go through the creature's system, they ferment.
Apparently it makes AMAZING coffee, but with it being hard to acquire, since it needs to be found, it costs a shit-load. I think what they show there is what it looks like before they're cleaned and roasted. I'd found a place a few blocks from my house that sold it, but for $30 a cup, and they're gone now. |

Weird foods are typically delicious foods, hence the reason why people eat them. I've heard extensive tales about the bird nests... definitely seems odd, but for how much that people are willing to pay for them, it definitely seems legit. |

Heh, a friend brought a bottle of alcohol back from Vietnam with two dead seahorses in it. It was so smooth it was like drinking water.
I've had rattlesnake and rabbit meat together in a sausage. It was gooooooood eating a predator and its prey in one go. |

I've had Snake and Scorpion wine; it's not gross it's BADASS. My dad brought some back from 'Nam. It's a fucking snake and scorpion fighting each other inside a bottle of booze. Shit yes. |

I nearly dry-heaved looking at the sheep's head for some reason, and I freaking dissected a cat in high school without thinking twice about it (I don't think I could do that these days since I've become a cat owner, though). I mean, I've seen whole pigs' heads on the table before, but for some reason that sheep head. Huh. |

Balut actually comes from my culture (being half-Filipino), but I still refuse to even try it. |

I have a pretty strong constitution and I ALMOST found myself dry-heaving looking at this.
