... But what about swimming?

walking uses muscles that hurt way to much to just run on.

Why is it awkward? Sounds like standard ass-covering policy, and it isn't like you asked for it.

You'd think the swim would be the preferred alternative for ankle injuries since it doesn't put weight on it. Weird.

for the army APFT you need to do the push ups sit ups and run. if you are on a permanent profile you can do a swim, bike, or 2.5 mile walk. Most of the time with ankle issues the alternate event is the 2.5 mile walk. Which is just awkward.

I know she doesn't want it, but fate might leave you with no choice in the matter. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Now I am just curious... what exactly is a walking profile?

Thus why I put this here Bitmap =P

I'm not getting to that mindset believe me I'm not. I haven't shown these guys my ankle for quite some time and I know it's pretty much fucked. But a walking profile is just sooooooo omg owch.

True, don't go for any discharge. Period. You don't want this. I know you don't. You worked hard for this and I better damn well see you walk out on your contract without a discharge. You can do this.

if I know you well enough I know this isn't what you want. I know for a fact you want to make something out of yourself and which is why you got there in the first place. No one said it was going to be easy and I am sure when you first put your first foot in the door they even told you it wasn't.

Why put yourself in a situation like this? You are better than this.

Is there an honorable medical discharge?

I got til May 13, 2014. I'm thinking if the carrot they wave at me isn't big enough about just cutting my ties anyway. It's just I hate going through TRADOC(Reclassing schools) crap. Not like they really care. Yeah the grounds for not renewing my contract isn't going to be around til 2013. So just a little longer.

Thing is if things get worse with me I probably will be chaptered out. It's not that I care or anything, just I want an honorable discharge instead of a general discharge.

How much longer is your contract? If it's something that's not effecting you now...there HAS to be some sort of middle ground between what you need to do for yourself, and what you HAVE to do for the military...

It IS tough being in the military. Not that I would know personally, but still...props to you for everything you've done for the country thus far. I'm glad you see the benefits that that you're making it work out for you.

It's just how the military is sometimes. I have other things to do other than an APFT but since I already failed I have to take it again and then work on the other stuff. That's the stuff that's going to cause me to get a profile and not be able to take the test to begin with.

Like I said before it's not affecting me now. I'm not injured but after some check ups if surgery is necessary I have to go on profile.

Personally I don't like the whole "militard" personality that much either.

Nelrith I love being in the reserves. It's tough and it's expensive considering I don't get all the benefits of the active duty guys. How ever... I love the schooling and being able to go to Los Angelos or other places to help out other BODs (a detachment I fall under). Plus my foot is in the door for a job at the Grand Ole Opery in Tennessee. So I don't think I want to quit just yet =P

I would have suggested fuck school and the military altogether if your health were potentially at risk, to put it bluntly. Tests can always be retaken but you only live once!

I hope things all turn out alright for you!

Ah the joys of stress. Well, at least it is only a week delay, and I am certain that you will pass it. Though at the same time I think it is stupid that your superiors are making you put a stupid retest (for 22 fucking seconds) over your health.

Yeah it isn't much of a fail I know that. It's just these things aren't causing me the issues now... however I have taken into the consideration of the many causes of cancer.

I take my PT test next week. I will know when I pass it then and have all this stuff checked out. I already know that I will have to schedule any possible surgeries for the weekend and just come right back to school. That's how it always is anyway.

I realize it is difficult, but your health is paramount and you really should go to the doctor. Nothing else matters if you end up dying of cancer because you didn't get things checked out. Talk to the doctors and see what you can work out, maybe you can find a way to get them done without messing anything critical. Growing moles are a sign of cancer that should never be ignored, nor is the possibility of HPV which can turn into cervical cancer if left untreated.

If doctors cannot help you work out the scheduling... how long will it take you to pass PT if you bust your ass? I mean, 22 seconds isn't that much of a fail right?

I've broken into two arguments with my husband due to health issues that will cause me to be put on profile in the Army. We have constantly recieved phone calls from the women's clinic stating that I need another check up to make sure I don't have HPV along with that I have a mole that has grown in size (if it were to be chopped off I would not be able to do sit ups).

Right now none of that is bothering me. The main problem I have with these arguments is that Eric constantly tells me that I need to miss class and what not to get these check ups done.

That's fine and dandy here's the issue:

1. I'm an APFT failure. I missed my 2 mile run by 22 seconds.
2. My classes are now 11 days each... I can't AFFORD to miss any days. These are some really hard classes too. You're talking 3 years of college all smashed down into 6 months. Not fun.
3. Judgement from my NCOICs here is not that pleasant. I don't like it one bit. I have constantly been told that I have a bad abrasive personality for the Army on several different occasions. Here's the thing. I haven't done a thing other than not talk to the females in the unit. Why? I just can't deal with military women. It's just that. I don't like other women in the military. Why? because I have a bias that they all use their feminine qualities to get by and not have to pull their own weight (Which I have witnessed on several occasions.).

So the solution I have come up with is pass my PT test and take care of the medical issues. Simple? no... I don't think so I have been working my ass off with hard PT sessions in the morning and the evenings. It's not fun taking about three showers a day: 1. to wet my hair down in the morning. 2. after pt in the morning. and 3. after pt in the evening.

Now I'm doing pt over the weekends to for remedial... duh. lol it's understandable and not a stitch in my side really.

E: On a side note.. I have heard a really bad cover of self-esteem today.
