Bump to say that is insane that the largest star is a BILLION times bigger than our sun, that makes us so tiny compared to the rest of the universe, its that insane. |

I also love those two channels, but only when there is something good on (Ice Road Truckers is NOT good, nor is any other "reality" show besides Deadliest Catch).
And Mike Rowe is a badass. I want the History Channel to have him narrate something too... I can just picture him talking about the Battle of Salamis... "And while the Spartans were being slaughtered at Thermopylae, the Athenian Navy was just off the coast of Salamis, kicking Persian butt and ensuring the security of western civilization as we know it. Where is the movie about that?" E - It would be followed by a special Dirty Jobs segment in which Mike spends the day as a rower on a trireme. |

He is one of the offical Narrators for Discovery. And a damn good one at that. I love his narrations
E- Discovery and History Channel are my two favorite channels. Besides Poker and the Anime channel. You can't stop those two. Sorry. |

Actually, the star's name is Betelgeuse (weird, right?). Anyhow, yay, Space! Now we can all feel tiny!
Was that Mike Rowe narrating? |

But that's not all. One of the coolest pictures ever to surface the web came from NASA. And it's a joy to behold.
Never seen this? You should! It's the freakin SUN! Now imagine Beetlejuice's Sun or the next step higher. Could you imagine the gravity on that thing? Or even the HEAT coming off of it? We are NOTHING compared to these things. |

Joke is from Portal 2.
So I watched a pretty cool video and after watching it I felt inadequate. Let's take a look at the Sun. And in comparison with other suns out there. The largest star ever discovered. Is a Billion times larger than our own sun. If you were to have a spaceship fly all the way around that star at 900MPH. It would take 1620 years to circle it!
Source That is freakin insane. I love space. oh yeah. Where the joke came from: Portal 2 Spoiler:
