I've gotten a lot of hours out of my PSP, so I'll no doubt pick up a Vita. The only issue is when I'll actually have the money to, I haven't had a job in about a year... :/

Oh you are gonna be super pissed at this: Most of the JRPG's that are out on the PS3 in Japan are only getting a release in America on the new PS Vita.

Supposedly NIS is publishing them. So i'm not that upset with this myself. Definately picking up that sweet TV and the Vita when it hits the market.

Apparently the controller is VERY comfortable. Soo, I have no idea what to think anymore.

I don't really play video games anymore, but I hope these new series are good so I can WATCH people play awesome games.

I wish I could wake up someday this week to hearing that the Wii U was just a dream, no ... a nightmare. I'm sorry, but I am not impressed at all with Nintendo's showing this year. The 3DS lineup is getting stronger and stronger, but as for the Wii U all they showcased was the hardware and that was basically it.

"Hey! do you guys remember Dreamcast?"
"Yeah... that thing SEGA made... like ten years ago?"
"Yeah! That one! That was awesome."
"It had those little screens in the controllers..."
"That totally enticed developers to make use of them when porting games over!"
"Plus it was REALLY powerful when it came out!"
"AND it came out BEFORE the other next gen systems!"
"INORIGHT? So that by the time developers were ready to fully embrace the new generation, it was already outdated!"
"Plus it didn't have a hardrive!"
"Did anything back then?"
"No... but things do now... Do people really need them though...?"
"Nah... it's a fad."
"HEEEYYYyyyyy.... Let's make a Dreamcast 2! It doesn't need a Hard Drive either!"
"That's an awesome idea. Dreamcast was such a success!"
"But we're Nintendo..."
"Pfft... So? Let's make the screens GIANT... annndd.... umm... I'm sure developers will port the games well and take advantage of this technology!"
"So... like a 2 inch screen... IN the controller...?"
"NOWAI! Like... TWELVE INCHES! IN YOUR HANDS! AND TOUCH CONTROLS AND BUTTONS!!!"
"That's a lot... plus what about battery life... and people will have to buy regular controls for other games..."
"What other games? REDNECK JAMBOREE is an AWESOME game for this system!"
"Aren't we completing alienating our current retard party game user base...? In addition to further distancing ourselves from more devoted and intelligent gamers...?
"NOWAI!!! The retards who can barely play 'M&M's Beach Bash' will love a super confusing giant DS in your hands that you would need four hands to properly use! INTUITIVE!!!"
"... and our all but extinct 'hardcore' users...?"
"Throw in some footage of games also being released for current systems that is really violent. I'm sure those developers with stick with us! Just like Capcom did! You know... back on the Game...Sphere? Pyramid? Square? That one thing. And everyone else."
"I can't wait till we release it in one year!"
"I can't wait to be completely outclassed in two!"
"After all, out 3D dongle thingie is doing SOOOoooo well."
"INORIGHT!"
"BECAUSE IT'S EXPENSIVE!"
"OOPPSSS WE FORGOT THAT RETARD PARTY GAMERS CAN'T AFFURD EXPENSIVE THINGS!!"
"AND DUN CAAR ENEWAY CUZ THEY RETARDZ WHO THINK 'CATZ N' PUPPIES GERBIL PLAY PEN' IS GUD GAMEE, AND IT ON UR PHONE FOR EVEEN CHEEPER!! SO DEY BUY IT THRERE NOWW!"
"OPPS! MY BAD!!!"
"SO DAT'S WHY DEY BOUGHT ALL DOSE WEEESSSS!!! BUT DUNT BUY OUR THRREDEE WUN!"
"DREAMCAST 2 IS GO!!!"
"MAKE SHUR MOSTT OF ARE LUNACH TITLEZ R PORTSS!!"

...and the Wii U was born.

Not to mention Sony updated their systems and isn't just letting themselves get decked in the face constantly.

Maybe on PSN.

However, it was NOT a one-time thing. If they neglected to update all of their services after the first time, then they are fucking idiots.

I can tell you that it isn't easy to update systems of this size. Seriously, it isn't as simple as getting a good programmer (or a good team of). It sure as hell isn't going to take a week, or even a month to fix that.
Yet no apparent effort has been made beyond PSN. That's what annoys me most about this. Bad security that gets fixed later company-wide... well, it should've been better to begin with (SQL injection? Seriously now), but at least an effort is made.

Bad security that's fixed in one place with no apparent effort made to fix the exact same problem in several other services?

Sure, a big player like Sony getting hacked by a SQL injection is unforgivable.

However, according to LulzSec (dude(s) who hacked Sony about 4 times), Nintendo is also vulnerable (apparently got into their system). But he likes them, so he won't do anything more.

Let's face it, even if Sony had the same amount of security than Nintendo or Microsoft (hell, maybe they do!), they still would've gotten hacked. Maybe not as easily, but still would've. At this point, it's more of a "pretty much everyone hates Sony" so hackers target them (and they can even pretend to be the good guys!)

(because releasing the personal information of milions of people to the general public sure is a good act, right?)

Do what I do and buy those PSN cards that are available at just about every retail store on the market.

Also for those that were effected (Me) that got information stolen, like a credit card. US law states that you are entitled to a credit check and automatically receive the money taken from you. Not to mention Sony updated their systems and isn't just letting themselves get decked in the face constantly. They are taking steps to improve their system. So no, it's not like it was before the network was broken into. It's improved.

I have a hard time supporting a company that stores its customers private data in plain text on systems vulnerable to simple SQL injection, which has been demonstrated several times recently.

Hell this group is attacking Everyone. Just reciently they broke into Nintendo and they were quick to the punch to fix things. PBS was also broken into. no security system is perfect.

E- However I can say that Sony goofed up in saying that the Vita's offical 3G supporter was going to be AT&T. Ugh. Even the audience boo'd the hell out of Sony for that one.

Just stick with the Wifi

I can't take Sony seriously anymore. Their hilariously bad security and overly arrogant management have made them a joke in my eyes.

I'm keeping my PS3, and I'll buy more games for it if I find more of them I like, but I've no real interest in paying any further attention to them, or in purchasing a Vita or the inevitable PS4. I have a hard time supporting a company that stores its customers private data in plain text on systems vulnerable to simple SQL injection, which has been demonstrated several times recently.

I've no interest in Kinect either, but that's for different reasons, as follows:

1. It's all casual kiddy games so far anyway, far as I can tell. Hey, that's fine, there's a market for it, but I'm not part of it.

2. It came too late in the 360's lifespan for me to expect much development for it. Motion controls for the Wii have continued to develop because they were a selling point of the console. This isn't the case for the 360, and I'm not expecting any particularly deep games involving it. Besides which, I never use the Wii's motion controls.

Whoops, I got even my own date wrong. It actually starts today! Microsoft is starting now, Sony late this evening, and Nintendo is all by itself tomorrow. So looks like we are off to a good morning! (Cept I have to work this evening)

Also, if this is true I will crap my pants!

WOAHWHAT!?!?!?!?!?!

According to Blizzard's offical application panel. It's actually pretty reliable

Wow....

E- Also Minecraft announced for Xbox. With Kinect support!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH

Remember Tim Schafner? That guy who made brutal Legend? He was bought out by Microsoft and is making a freaking Seasame Street videogame. As soon as the video is uploaded on Youtube you guys have to watch it it's hilarious

Kinectame street.

Sony's Big news

First off. Biggest news of the conference. The new PSP, also known as the Playstation Vita. has a price! $249.99. Nintendo now has a serious contender in the handheld department. Comes equipped with party chat features, Full 1080p dual touch screen support (Front and rear screen), and the majority of the videogames that you can play on your PS3 will also be playable on the Vita. So when you are out of the house you can just reach in your pocket and continue to play on the go. Literally. PS3 in the palm of your hands. And at that price it's nuts!

New 3D TV at again, a reasonable price. $499.99. 24" 1080p 3D TV, also comes with an HDMI cable and a copy of Resistence 3 when it arrives. THIS FALL. So if you don't have a high definition TV and you want to experience 3D. At that price it's a steal. Also the TV is also DTS sound equipped. So it's not gonna sound like crap when played.

God of War. Origins announced. Using the same engine as God of war 3. This PSP "Remake" is arriving on the PS3.

Other than that. That's it from Sony. Nintendo is up tomorrow. HUGE competitor and the industry's biggest gaming company has the whole day tomorrow.

Yeah I officially lost all faith in Square and fell in love with NIS. They are making RPGs right and incredibly addicting. FF13 pretty much was the last nail on the coffin.

I said last year that if they did not announce Twisted Metal that I would go apeshit (I said it in the E3 2010 thread over at Jul) and lo and behold my wish was granted.

Now let's see if lady luck still has me and what game do I want to see make a comeback? Not Final Fantasy 7 (Or any Square game for that matter).

Hmmm...let me sleep on this.

Year Konami won last year's E3 from that alone. Never laughed so hard in my life.

Also no love from skiddles? You know, that Kinectamals game where an imaginary tiger was licking on a little asian girl? "Oh stop it skidles".

Ouch

I really hope we see Tak Fujii again!
