That's the Great Movie Ride, a pretty meh ride in my opinion. My family did a lot of traveling when I was younger, but once everyone got older and went to college we traveled a lot less. We just went back to Disney World for the first time in 5 years and it was just so surreal seeing everything from a different point of view and seeing all of my memories sort of come to life.

I hear that they are updating that one too... I really hope they don't ruin it like they are doing with so many other classic attractions. I am still pissed at them for what they did to Pirates of the Caribbean.

I was lucky enough for my parents to wait til I was big enough to ride on the rides but my dad in florida took us to Fast Eddies so many times. I still don't remember that pic of me in the go cart passenger seat with my dad. XD But I got to drive my own go cart when I go old enough though.

I did like the Star Tours! I'm a big Star Wars nut and there was NO LINE!

I still have my Rebel Alliance glass from when I went last time :3

The wait time does get rather insane... but I also haven't been since they redid it. What I always liked was the animatronics you got to see... though Star Tours was more entertaining there. But no, I loved Space Mountain.

Space Mountain sucked when I went there, it was a 4 hour wait for what felt like a 10 second plummet... BALLS!

I love Space Mountain though! I realize that the planks are right above my head, so I just don't put my hands up. The best time for Space Mountain was when they played the Red Hot Chili Peppers nonstop all day on it.

There's Frontier Land and Critter Country at Disneyland. Frontier Land consists of the Thunder Mountain roller coaster and Tom Sawyer's island, etc.

I <3 Disneyland.

That was Splash Mountain in the Critter Country section of the park. I remember going when it first opened and I was pretty scared at first but then it became my second favorite ride... after Space Mountain, the indoor roller coaster in Tomorrowland.

Yeah in Florida it's called Frontierland. Seen how the park in Califorina is smaller (Much smaller) than the one in Orlando it had to have a smaller name for some reason.

Did you know that the ride time in California is 8 minutes shorter than the one in Orlando? Kinda funny.

I'm so glad I coordinated Splash Mountain when I worked at Disney. You gotta love that ride. I mean not only is it fun to ride in but the big drop is literally awesome. I remember training in Frontierland and my Trainer was like "Alright guys. Obviously we are not awake yet. So let's ride Splash Mountain". After the big drop we are all laughing. But then he would kinda look at us and say "I don't think we are fully awake yet: ONE MORE GO"! And we would ride it again.

Also Space Mountain is the scariest fucking ride when the lights are turned on. Trust me. I did that once during park after hours and EVERYONE never rides that ride after they experience the ride with the lights on. You have planks and shit literally a foot away from your head.

Don't ride it

I remember going on the Alien ride years later at Disney World, I don't remember it scaring me much though!

I thought the alien ride was cool. But we had NO idea is was supposed to be a little scary, so my (at the time) 4 year-old cousin was with us. I was 12 then...it was the first REAL trip I had gone on, to be honest. We've gone to the beach in Jersey (Stupid Jersey Shore TV show ruining things nearby) but that was about it. But I remember taking a swing at my uncle for yelling at my cousin for freaking out.

In fact. I remember the whole trip.

Haha.

Honestly our trip to Disney World wasn't the best, although I have a lot of good memories of it (the Indiana Jones play rocked), there was this one ride where you end up at 3 enormous screens at the very end, and that made me brutally motion sick. Motion sickness is really rare for me but when it happens it's bad, lol.

I think some of my favorites memories of the Disney trips were just the fascinating environments. Like the cool hotels we went too, the beach, Disney's highways haha, the tram systems and all. Awesome cool stuff I never see around here. I dunno what it is but I have a good memory when it comes to settings/environments, in real life and in TV shows and such. Haha, weird.

And I know what you mean about the traveling, vacations went from every other year to every 5-8 years once I hit the teen years. We would go to Disneyland every October for the company night at his work... then nothing. I liked going to those nights, it was cheaper, the lines were WAY shorter, and the only things I didn't have access to were the Island, the ships, and the canoes... and you really only need to do those once to be over them.

Yeah I went to Disney Land when I was 4 or 5 with my grandparents, and they documented the whole thing with tons of pictures and whatnot. I've actually still got some memories of it that I can recall, I think the pictures and stories my grandparents have told me over the years helped keep some of that in my mind:
- I was scared of every costume until Tigger.
- Once I warmed up to them, I still stayed away from the Beast and my grandma took a picture with him. Hah.
- There was some "mountain" named ride I think that my grandpa and I went on a ton, I absolutely loved that one. It was supposed to be kind of dark and scary, but I loved it. Think it was a water ride of sorts too.
- My grandpa pulled out a 50 dollar bill when we ate once and it was like the coolest thing I had ever seen at the time, saying "Wow you're rich grandpa!" haha...

A lot of it is still very vague though because of my age. I've also been to Disney World and a bunch of other states throughout the years, but yeah it's all kind of fuzzy. Especially when I was 5ish and went to Texas to visit my dad's side of the family... on second thought I remember marathoning the Star Wars OT back then -several- times, lol. I had to stay in the whole time we were there because that's when I got the chicken pocks along with my sister. Other than that the only other thing I remember was that it was mindblowingly hot outside in Texas.

The one missions trip I went on in grade school was pretty terrible. All I remember was that my group leaders were these young adult/teenage assholes. We ended up going to one of those caged blown up bouncing things and we played a game where we all had to try and get by them... and they literally hurt most of us, I think my best friend with me even got a bloody nose or something. It was hilariously stupid and not a fun experience. My mom even remembers my story about them. Yes, that's what I remember most about this missions trip.

After that I remember most of my trips in greater detail. Disney World, Wisconsin, Chicago, etc. It's honestly kind of depressing how much I got to travel growing up, because it's been several years since our last trip... I can't even remember when or what the last trip was.

I remember I went to the Milwaukee County Zoo once but I can not remember anything about the trip including the ride home. They only reason I know i was there was because of the hat my Dad bought when we were there.

I've always been really thankful that my parents didn't start our big trips until I was at least 8. But that's probably due to the fact my parents traveled outside of the country with me, not inside. I've been to 20 countries and 3 states. The states are Nevada, Arizona and Colorado, hahaha.

I have a few vague memories of being three, more from four and an onward. Luckily Disneyland was a yearly thing, but my parents said that the first time we went, when I was about four or so, I cried when I saw the wicked witch in the Snow White ride and I do not remember it AT ALL.

But yeah, I am a huge supporter of the" don't take your kids places until they can remember them"... especially amusement parks.

Yup, I have had some of those moments too. Visiting New Orleans and Georgia... Many camping trips. My dad worked for the gas company, who would do their company picnics at Disneyland. We went a few times... I don't remember any of them.

I know exactly what you mean, but not so much about Disneyland/World as traveling in general.

Seemed like my parents traveled a lot with me before I could really retain memories. We went to Hawaii a few times, around when I was 3 is when I start to remember some of it.

But when I was 1, we all went on a roadtrip up to Canada for the World's Fair in '86. There are hundreds of pictures of me on that trip and absolutely no recollection of it on my part.

So after visiting my mother's house the other week we both flipped through the old photo albulm and continued to mention on how precious I was and how adorable I was as a kid. Maybe when I can get my hands on a scanner I might share a photo or two someday.

But there was one thing that really pissed me off. Pictures of me hanging out with the Disney group as a kid.

There were pics of me crying at the ferris wheel and the dumbo ride they -still- have to this day. Why was i crying? Hell if I know I was only like four years old at the time.

I mean there were like fifty photos of me at the parks. Me feeding animals, chilling out with Mickey, being in a racecar with my dad, and more. My reply?

"I don't remember any of this"... (Mind you this was my first time looking at these photos)...I do remember the ride home though.

The only thing I remember basically is the ride home. Which was possibly the worst memory I could actually think about the whole thing.

Do me a favor Xeogamers. If you ever bring your kid to Disney world. Make sure they are old enough to remember it. FFS
