Weather has been CRAZY here. It'll snow a couple inches then it will all melt and the next day it will rain and all of the roads will be covered in ice. |

Wow, are you guys buried in houses? |

20~25 inches of snow in the last four days.
Plus tons of rain. God this is horrible. |

It's been pretty cleared up and nice here for awhile now, we did get some rain last week too which was a nice change.
That honestly felt like the quickest winter ever... |

I am kinda interested by the news of it snowing in Burbank during that last week of February... figures it would wait until I leave SoCal before it does it's once a century snow event.
We had a lovely little blizzard awhile back that I had to go out in... at least I was not driving. I have to admit that it is sad when the California transplants know how to react to the weather better than the natives do... who the hell slows down before going up a steep hill in a snowstorm? You cannot make it! Now we are getting alternating snow and rain these last few days... rain today and tomorrow, with wind and flood warnings. I am really looking forward to spring... I love the snow but I want to be able to run around outside and explore without wearing several layers. |

Palm Springs, actually, but close enough. |

Are those the windmills by Cabazon?
Yeah, I was in Arizona this past weekend and it was insanely windy. On Monday the sky was brown from all the dust. |

Photos!
Sorry for the bump. There were some really intense winds yesterday! I went out to a lookout point in town with my brother, and as we were walking, I noticed we were both walking a nearly 45° angles to stay up! |

Seems like it's going to rain this week. I hope so.
I showed up to work today wearing a hoodie under my coat and my boss gave me one of those, "Are you crazy?" looks and asked if it was going to rain. Seriously... didn't know it was going to. I just wear layers normally. |

Oh, us Northern Californian's are in total hellll. It's almost always in the 70's, and at this point, low 80's. Sunny, gorgeous. It's hell.
In reality though... I'm not happy with the weather. It feels way to much like doomsday for me. This is more like summer than last summer was. |

The groundhog didn't see his shadow?
I thought that would never happen again, with all the lights and shit they throw on the poor guy. I'm waiting for headlines of him biting the shit outta the people who drag him out of his home like that. I'd be pretty pissed myself. But, it's apparently "nice" here. Cold is cold. I shiver in 60 degrees, so it doesn't matter to me that it's "up" to the 40's here. But it IS sunny today, and was yesterday. And I could hear birds outside yesterday. THAT'S what makes me feel like it's spring finally. So, I too am suffering a major pump fake (cuz it's supposed to get colder againt his week.) despite not being fooled by the sun and 40-something degrees. **shrugs** |

We didn't get too hard by the storm. We did get some pretty heavy snowfall for a few hours, but that was about it. Looks like I survived Snowpocalypse 2011 |

Yeah, when Phil doesn't see his shadow, it's supposed to mean an early spring is on the way.
And yeah, it's silly, but it's cute. It's kitschy. It's tradition. And honestly, it looks like a lot of fun. I look up the poem/proclamation every year and giggle about it. Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow, but other poser groundhogs (and a llama) claim to have seen a shadow. |

Originally posted by Rogue I thought he did... I remember reading the prediction of an early spring. But then again... if you really look up the whole event it is just a bunch of silly men in Victorian-ish garb "listening" to a groundhog "speak" to them in "Groundhogese" (I am not making this up, go google Puxatawny Phil and see what I mean). But yeah, that is one scary looking storm. |

That is hilariously epic. Wonder who's getting hit the hardest?
Supposed to be like -6 tonight or something, yikes. Please don't freeze over... |

The news just put up these images NASA got of the U.S. from space:
It pretty much covers everywhere "going as far west as Arizona," the news said. More from NASA: http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/snowstorm_feb2011.html |

Ugh yeah this storm was terrible over here. We've got mountains piled on the side of driveways everywhere, haha... just hoping it doesn't freeze over too much. |

The rodent didn't see his shadow so there's hope for you yet, Rest-of-the-country-that-isn't-California. |

Oh trust me, I moved here with full knowledge of what I was getting into. Honestly it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be... but since I have been sick the last week it isn't like I have been going out much anyway. |

Rock salt...all. over. my. store. all. the. time. vacumning. is. hell.
The Hoth reference makes me like the idea of snow. Almost. But...I. Hate. Snow. And I have a feeling I'm going to be taken in for "assault" again if someone pisses me off on the road again. Anger management in pill form would help immensely for the time being. Elara, I am deeply sorry that this sort of winter is your first experience with the East Coast...but at least it's breaking you in early. Because it doesn't get better. :p |
