Bumping the sh*t out of this.

So, the kid who started this thread with all of the hype finally went out of his way and purchased it. So far, I like it a lot. It seems like they went all out with the morality in the game this time, and it affects so much more than in the first two games.

Before, it was just "I'll go kill everybody in this town because I want to buy the houses" and nothing would change. Now, every action changes the game. *shrugs* I just like how they improved on it and gave the morality system a meaning.

BUT WHY THE FUCK CAN'T I SEE MY HEALTH BAR?! I don't want to find out I'm dying when I'm near death. Healing beforehand is a good thing. Also, no inventory. God damn it all...

Beat the game, got the DLC, honestly I enjoyed the game. The lack of GUI was kinda annoying, though the red glowing around the screen worked as a replacement health bar, though the lack of inventory was something I never really got over.

I went 100% good, and in retrospect I should have kept the alcohol limit the same (neutral judgment) instead of removing it (good) because I am tired of everyone puking from drunkenness all the time. My continuing problem is the dog AI... I love the dog, but it is a fucking moron!

Also, there is a glitch that affects some people where having your spouse in the castle randomly kills them... and I am one of the lucky ones that is hit with it. Only have two kids, but records say 8 because I have had to re-adopt them several times... finally gave up and stuck with a damn nanny.

At least you didn't drop $120 on the limited collector's edition and the collector's edition strategy guide...because I did and I played the game for about 2 hours and haven't picked it up since.

Basically, Fable III is "Press (A) to win the game" to me...no real skill is involved, other than trying to figure you how the fuck to navigate the "menu" room.

I find great failures in each game in the series. But different failures each time. That, at least, is rather new. Fable was fun despite the horrific lack of challenge and linearity. Fable 2 has been amusing enough from time to time, but I greatly dislike the magic system.

My issue with Fable 3 begins with the COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE GODDAMN GUI.

What the fuck.

No health bar, no fucking menu other than one small one that's only used for a few specific functions, no motherfucking health bar seriously people what the fuck!

Sorry. I haven't played enough to comment on other issues, although the removal of the menus leads to many of the others - like the irritating replacement for a sane levelup system, inability to view your own goddamn inventory, and the lack of a fucking health bar in a goddamn action RPG no I will not let that bit of retardery slide.

But I'm still having enough fun to justify the price I didn't pay. Ah, Christmas.

Another minor annoyance is the need to literally hold an NPC's hand for them to follow you. It was justified in an early mission where you have to lead a small child out of a cave - less so in another one where you have to escort a trader. I wouldn't care as much, but it slows you down noticeably.

I've generally heard it's a lot better than 2 myself, but yeah. Need to play it still.

Haven't played it still. I thought you said it was good, Cairoi? Elaborate on its imperfections.

Haha, not good? One of my friends really liked it...

So I don't know if anyone ever got around to it, but this game is a humongous ass waste of time, and it deserves to be shot.

Five times.

So, I just started replaying Fable II, and I've got to ask...

What's this about combat not being fluid? I can quickly go from shooting my gun, to casting a spell, to swinging my sword with almost no lag in between. Sure, doing area spells is a bit annoying, but combat is still just as fun as always...

I just need to not get fat this time around. If I have to spend another week doing nothing but sleeping and eating celery, bad things will happen, xD.

Seriously though, like, one pie and I turn obese.

I agree with this, but it might be better this time around. From everything that I've seen, it looks great. Instead of making this an RP, he talked about how this game is more of an Action/adventure game. Now, if he packs this game full of pointless cutscenes, I'll be a bit adamant.

In any case, i started playing The Los Chapters again. I seem to have forgotten some of the bogus dialog in the game

I never only got married once. They ended up divorcing me because I wasn't around enough, and my dance expression just wasn't cutting it anymore. So I ended up killing them.

Kinda why I hate Peter Molyneux. He's a great developer, and one of Microsoft's only associates with a soul and emotion, but he's just... He's like how Christopher Walken is to the film industry. He does everything great, just... bloody weird.

Why should I go around wooing a lady, farting to make her laugh, flexing to make her attracted to me, then just give her a ring and TADAA wedding done, 1500 gold dowry, sorted. Besides the money, there's no other reason to do so.

And this weapon thing. Changing appearance compared to fighting style? Seems somewhat pointless. It was like how your character's appearance changed depending on what you do, like drinking loads of beer/eating loads of food made your character get a little chubby. It's a clever feature, but it adds very little to the actual gameplay, and until Peter can fix the gameplay problems with Fable, he should lay off a little with the pointless side-features.

I love Skorm's Bow... but yeah, I am really looking forward to this game. Glee!

My first playthrough of Fable II, I played a pure good character, dedicated to being the greatest hero I could be. But when
Spoiler:
dog + family died,
everything changed. Instead of choosing the "save everyone" ending, I chose the "ressurect your family" ending. However,
Spoiler:
The VERY moment I returned home from the tower, my wife left with my kids. All I was left with was the dog, and everyone looking down on my decision.

Oh, and
Spoiler:
they released DLC to get the dog back no matter what ending you chose.

Heh, the Sword of Aeons was better, and much more evil. My favorite melee weapon from the first game was probably the Katana Hiryu, and Skorm's Bow the best in ranged.

I agree about the free roam capabilities in the first game, though. The map gave you a set path and you had to go down it. Fable II was a bit more lenient, but I still would have liked to go a bit farther, and I'm hoping 3 brings what I'm looking for.

Remove the "eter" from his first name and the "M" from his second, and put together what you have remaining.

I was never a big fan of the second one, although the first was pretty damn good. Its free roam is pretty pathetic though, it'd be nice to see an even more expanded game world to traverse.

I don't like the sound of the weapon system... Sounds like one of Pete's many strange ideas that he bigs up a lot but it adds very little to the game. Like the character changing appearance from Fable 1, or the whole more involved marriage feature in Fable 2.

I loved finding my Wellow's Pickhammer and just owning the shit out of EVERYTHING with it! Had to chow down on ten baby chicks to get that damn thing, but holy hell was it worth it!

More or less.

I'm just really excited for this. I love Fable. I never really became a gamer until around 13/14. So Fable to me is like Final Fantasy to you guys. This is my gaming series.

Yeah, I'm not keeping my hopes up on any customization. King or not, the only way I'm going to be able to reshape a town is my killing everyone in it. I think Will is taking a tremendous down slide, but they're trying to save it. What boggles my mind is that they made it seem as though anyone could use Will in the first game

Oh well. I kind of want the Guild to return and have some sort of competitions within it. But this game is about change.

Yeah, Peter Molyneux (Not Polyneux, xD) definitely has a tendency to promise more than he delivers, but I thought he was pretty honest about Fable II, with each of the features he described really being there, really being offered.

And for those wondering, yes, I'm getting this game. No question. It might not be as great and awesome as promised, but it'll still be good fun if it continues to make farting a minigame.

In all seriousness, it should be good. The Fable games are never as good as they originally look (or how Polyneux says they're going to be), but they're certainly never bad.

Seriously, I'm not reading about this game at all. I don't think Polyneux actually converses with or watches his team actually work. When the dude opens his mouth, it sounds like you'll be able to create God in his games and build cities bigger than Coruscant with character customization that's beyond real life.

I dunno about that. Fable III will probably be solid though.

Sorry, but I had to laugh at that one! I am also looking forward to Fable III. I love Fable 2 and Fable 1 was pretty good. I can't play Fable 1 anymore, since my XBox 360 doesn't read my copy anymore.

Can't wait to get it!
