Posts: 6170/11918		 Just when I thought I had given up on humans I started watching a video that's been going around Facebook of soldiers surprise reuniting with their families and significant others. And I realize the world isn't all bad.

Still I'm sure whatever judge this lawsuit gets handed to will laugh in her face. At least that's what I hope.

Teen Charged With Vehicular Homicide Sues Victims' Family

(Aug. 16) -- What started as a teen romance gone wrong on March 19, 2009, turned into a horrific car accident. Then 16-year-old Justine Winter of Evergreen. Mont., was having a disagreement with her boyfriend, according to her text messages. She indicated she was on a suicide mission.

Instead, the crash killed pregnant Erin Thompson and her son, Caden O'Dell. Winter first pleaded not guilty to two counts of deliberate homicide. Now, she has filed a lawsuit against the victim's family, ABC News reports.

On Aug. 1, Winter and her father, Randy Winter, filed a lawsuit against Thompson's estate and three companies that helped build the U.S. 93 overpass, the site of the accident.

Winter says Thompson "negligently operated her vehicle in a manner that caused it to collide" with her vehicle, the Daily Inter Lake reported.

The prosecution says Winter was driving at 85 mph into oncoming traffic without her seat belt. He text messages before the crash make it seem as if she was motivated to commit suicide. However, a forensic linguist, testifying for the defense, said Winter likely didn't mean to kill herself that day.

Winter will be tried as an adult. She faces life in prison if convicted.

I really don't know what to say. I'm seriously having trouble understanding how anyone can be this stupid and arrogant about it enough to sue the victims saying the woman she hit "negligently operated her vehicle," saying that even though she was driving the wrong way with intent to crash (and die) it's the woman's fault for not swerving.

I hope her conscience is killing her, and that her dreams are plagued with their deaths. Their blood is on her hands, and she has the nerve to try to sue to appear innocent.
