They don't believe in karma, that's how they are so guilt-free through all of this!

"Hey, what you're doing is bad karma."

That idiot has passed his fifteen minutes... WBC on the other hand... well... I don't know why they got it in the fist place and I really wish that all of the bad karma that they have earned would come crashing down on them at once.

I can't wait for somebody to get irritated enough to hire an assassin to off this douchebag and everybody else in that church. If his life was the one that was in jeopardy, I'm positive that he wouldn't have done this.

That is an absolute fucking shame and I'm sorry to hear you're going through this, especially over some religious zealots seeking attention.

WBC clearly wanted a reaction. The only thing was. Announcing that they are not going to do it doesn't help any. I have seen a huge increase in attacks to the US Embassy here. Yeah they can't aim for shit but it's crazy every 3 or 4 hours you have the CRAM go off.

Yes, we totally do.

Yeah we need to let terrorists know that WBC is their enemy. Not us.

I don't normally take the Huffington Post very seriously, but they make a lot of great points in this discussing both situations involving Islamophobia: Quran Burning Story: This Is How The Media Embarrass Themselves

EDIT: I laughed so hard. Um.. Westboro now says that they're going to burn the Quran. But wait, they're upping the ante... and an American flag!

Attention whores.

Apparently this guy went down to the site of the new community center to burn a Quran.

And that pastor in Florida, didn't burn them. He's comparing himself to Abraham now.

Sometimes the world is funny like that.

Here's hoping no terrorist organizations take this seriously and attack our troops. Be safe out there.

Burning the American flag is how it is ceremoniously retired, but using that to justify a hippie or someone on the other side of the world joyously burning it in the street doesn't make anyone feel any better about it.

Stories are rapidly updating that this guy is determined to hold the Quran burning. I'm more convinced this guy is all about getting media attention and that's all. I mean his reasons for holding the burning keep changing up.

And, True, can you please tell me where it says rape is OK in the Quran? I just spent the last hour searching rape in the Quran and haven't found anything other than a bunch of sites that discuss people's misconceptions on reading it saying that the Quran stresses chastity.

I can see marrying 9-year-olds since Muhammad married a girl that age and in that era people were married much younger.

"Okay we're sorry, let's give the community something."

Quran burning canceled after Pentagon calls pastor

Word has it he's reconsidering and might hold the event anyway.

Apparently he feels lied to because someone told him that the controversial community center was going to be put some place else up in New York. He believed it a sign from God.

But now that he hears they aren't moving it anywhere, he says he's going to have it anyway.

You don't know what kind of damage that would do to the soldiers here in Iraq and Afghan. There were several attacks on the FOB I am at and towards the US Embassy killing a few people in the Embassy.

These type of acts are the kind of things that do make us Christians look bad, but they also endanger the soldiers still stationed here.

Along with that, we had received a request to cover a story about a baptism going on in the Red Zone. The chaplain will be baptizing islam converts in this FOB in the middle of the Red Zone around Sept 11. Our XO said no of course because that's sending out a bunch of people to their deaths.

Fun stuff... fun stuff...

Can you believe even though the Pentagon called him personally, that Gen Patreus (Operation Enduring Freedom General) even said that it wouldn't be a good idea? If a FOUR STAR GENERAL IN AFGHANISTAN SAYS IT'S A REALLY BAD IDEA you should've stopped the idea to begin with.

I talked with my grandmother about this and she said that he was demonstrating his freedom of speech. She was all for it. I mean come on your own grand daughter is in Iraq getting mortared for this crap?! Wtf.

However... burning the Quran is one of the things Muslims do to get rid of it.

However... I do believe that Islam is well... wrong. Why? Because I have read the Quran. It's very graphic as far as it teaching you how to marry 9 year olds and teaching you how to rape them. Along with that the women in this religion have noooooo word what so ever. They are taught to walk behind men and they are traded for being married.

AND The prayers here are very annoying. I really don't like the idea of praying more than 8 times a day. Jeez they pray so much here as it is. During Ramadan, it's even worse.

Let's not forget the fact that there were islams that died during 9/11 too. NOT THE RADICALS. I'm talking about in the twin towers. You wouldn't believe how many there were. So all this hate and what not is totally uncalled for.

From the Quran:

" The prophet said to the Jews, " Islam is a religion of peace or you will die"."

Someone posted this on Facebook and you would not believe the comments that come from this.

The Christians and the Muslims have been at war for many years. This is a war that everyone is just now noticing? Come on everyone. All this grudge is totally uncalled for.

Quran burning canceled after Pentagon calls pastor

WASHINGTON -- Under tremendous pressure from U.S. officials all the way up to President Barack Obama, a Florida pastor on Thursday called off a Quran burning he'd scheduled for Saturday - the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks - that had drawn international condemnation and posed a potential threat to national security.

The Rev. Terry Jones announced the change of plans to a media circus outside his Dove Outreach World Center in Gainesville shortly after Secretary of Defense Robert Gates called the pastor to make a direct appeal. Gates told Jones that burning Qurans would inflame Muslim sentiment and endanger U.S. troops abroad.

Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said that Gates had weighed concerns that making such a call could encourage copycats who want attention, but felt that "if that phone call could save the life of one man or woman in uniform, that call was worth placing."

Gates' call was a highly unusual outreach to a civilian that showed how concerned the Obama administration had become about the potential ramifications of such an insult to Islam.

It also reflected the triumph of national security concerns over freedom of expression. Only weeks earlier, Obama spoke out to protect plans for an Islamic cultural center two blocks from the World Trade Center site in New York, arguing that the nation's First Amendment principles were paramount to the sensitivities of Sept. 11 victims' families. Jones' right to burn a Quran as a matter of free expression didn't get the same backing.

Well, I know Obama has spoken out against it... at least that is what I heard on the news this morning. I really hope that they don't go through with this, I mean, it is just stupid.

Interpol is warning that there will be an increased risk of terror attacks if the burning goes through.

Apparently if Obama or the Pentagon call them, they're likely to cancel it.

It's to the point that presidents from other countries are calling up Obama telling him to intervene. Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country and a friend to the U.S., seems to be the most vocal about asking Obama to stop this.

Even the Pope is condemning the burning.

Top US commander: Burning Quran endangers troops

KABUL, Afghanistan The top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan warned Tuesday an American church's threat to burn copies of the Muslim holy book could endanger U.S. troops in the country and Americans worldwide.

Meanwhile, NATO reported the death of an American service member in an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday.

The comments from Gen. David Petraeus followed a protest Monday by hundreds of Afghans over the plans by Gainesville, Florida-based Dove World Outreach Center a small, evangelical Christian church that espouses anti-Islam philosophy to burn copies of the Quran on church grounds to mark the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States that provoked the Afghan war.

"Images of the burning of a Quran would undoubtedly be used by extremists in Afghanistan and around the world to inflame public opinion and incite violence," Petraeus said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen echoed those sentiments Tuesday, saying any burning "would be in a strong contradiction with the all the values we stand for and fight for."

Muslims consider the Quran to be the word of God and insist it be treated with the utmost respect, along with any printed material containing its verses or the name of Allah or the Prophet Muhammad. Any intentional damage or show of disrespect to the Quran is deeply offensive.

In 2005, 15 people died and scores were wounded in riots in Afghanistan sparked by a story in Newsweek magazine alleging interrogators at the U.S. detention center in Guantanamo Bay placed copies of the Quran in washrooms and flushed one down the toilet to get inmates to talk. Newsweek later retracted the story.

Responding to Petraeus' comments, Dove World Outreach Center's senior pastor Terry Jones acknowledged Petraeus' concerns as legitimate but said the church still planned to go ahead with the burning.

"We are at this time not going to cancel it. We're still considering it and praying about it," Jones told The Associated Press. "We are also just also concerned and wondering, when do we stop? How much do we back down? ... Instead of us backing down, maybe it's to time to stand up."

The church, which made headlines last year after distributing T-shirts that said "Islam is of the Devil," has been denied a permit to set a bonfire but has vowed to proceed with the burning. The congregation's website estimates it has about 50 members, but the church has leveraged the Internet with a Facebook page and blog devoted to its Quran-burning plans.

The American's death brings to at least six the number of U.S. forces killed in Afghanistan this month, along with at least four other non-American members of the international coalition.

Engagements with insurgents are rising along with the addition of another 30,000 U.S. troops, bringing the total number of international forces in the country to more than 140,000.

At least 322 U.S. troops have died in Afghanistan so far this year, exceeding the previous annual record of 304 for all of 2009, according to an AP count.

Petraeus is asking for 2,000 more trainers and field troops for the international force, NATO officials said Monday. It was unclear how many would be Americans.

Also Tuesday, authorities confirmed the ambush killing of a district chief by suspected insurgents in the northern province of Baghlan on Monday afternoon. Nahrin district chief Rahmad Sror Joshan Pool was on his way home after a memorial service for slain anti-Soviet guerrilla leader Ahmad Shah Massoud when rocket-propelled grenades hit his vehicle, setting it on fire, said provincial spokesman Mahmood Haqmal.

Pool's bodyguard was also killed in the attack, and one militant died and two were wounded in the ensuing fire fight with police, Haqmal said.

Five children were killed and five wounded in Yaya Khil district in the southern province of Paktika when an insurgent rocket fired at an Afghan army base hit a home Monday evening, provincial government spokesman Mokhlais Afghan said.

Kidnappers also seized two electoral workers and their two drivers in the western province of Ghor, according to deputy provincial police chief Ahmad Khan Bashir.

Insurgents have waged a campaign of violence and intimidation to prevent Afghans from voting, especially in rural areas, while some pre-election violence has also been blamed on rivalries among the candidates.

Stupid, fucking zealots. All these people are doing is continuing the cycle.
