So we have finally gone back to the movies. Saw Multiverse of Madness... it was good, even if it was starting to get more crowded like the beforetimes. Still, not a bad experience.

I still need to watch both the new Hocus Pocus and Munsters. I've heard just as much good as bad, and the "bad" stuff doesn't seem to hold much water.

Just watched the new "Hocus Pocus." Since it was more about the witches, I liked it, generally. Certainly more than the original when it came to the scenes that were just the kids. When it comes to the original, I can only watch scenes that have the Sanderson Sisters in them. The Omri Katz and Thora Birch stuff is unwatchable.

My FB is full of people bitching and moaning about the Rob Zombie "Munsters" movie as well. Apparently no Marilyn or Eddie Munster is a deal breaker for some people. It's a corny movie that has its moments, but yeah, it's just a fan-made prequel as far as I'm concerned.

Still haven't gone back to the movies, but I'm kinda tempted to go see "Jungle Cruise" at the end of the month. *Awkward sweat drop smile emoji*

I saw the latest things Disney and Pixar dropped, "Luca" and "Raya and the Last Dragon" on their streaming app. Yeah, they were OK. Not my favorites, though.

Yeah, I haven't been back either. My boss at the center was telling me that they separate you by two seats on either side of you, so he'll buy four tickets so he and his wife will have a row to themselves. *Shrug*

Watched the newest "The Conjouring" movie yesterday since it dropped on HBO Max then. It really plays up the fairy tale bullshit that is the Warrens.

For some reason, the staff at my center are REALLY into watching those movies at the end of the workday since we don't have clients coming in and there's not much to do at the moment. So yeah, "The Conjouring" on Wednesday, "The Conjouring 2" on Thursday and then "The Conjouring: The Devil Made Me Do It" on Friday.

Since I have Disney+, I actually finally got around to watching Hercules and Hunchback of Notre Dame because somehow I have never seen either. Hunchback holds up better between the two. Also finally saw Tangled.

If we're talking last movie in a theater, for me it was "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," and I only saw it the once (as opposed to TLJ, which I saw in theaters like 6 or 7 times. )

Still on the horror train. Ended up starting a subscription for Shudder.

If I have to recall the LAST movie I saw in theater...

It would be Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that came out in 2018. Before that, it was Ready Player One. I haven't watched any movie as of lately, so if we want to be general about it, I think the last movie I saw was one of My Hero Academia movie that came out.

And as for the horror film, I think my last horror film I saw was "Sweet Home", a Japanese film (and a video game), which inspired the Resident Evil series later. I also remember Parasite Eve as well, but find that one more of a psychological thriller than as a horror.

I recommend Jacob's Ladder for a weirder one.

I thought Hellraiser II was pretty fun, really cool locations and set designs. It's like the adult Labyrinth haha.

The slashers are always good fun... you know what you get with them, but yeah. I like most of the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street movies.

Halloween III is probably the most insane (funny) one I've seen, you should give that one a look.

Ever since I started therapy and medication, I've been watching the shit out of horror films. I'd avoided that genre almost entirely my whole life and suddenly I'm all gung-ho for movies that would have made me shit my pants.

Since quarantine has started I've watched:
The Amityville Horror original
The Appearance
As Above So Below
Bitten (Jason Mewes movie, more funny than scary)
The Blair Witch Project
The Bloodsucker Leads the Dance
Candyman
Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh
Carnival of Souls
C.H.U.D.
Child's Play original
Children of the Corn
The Conjuring
The Conjuring 2
Crimson Peak
Cronos
Cub (Belgian film in French and Flemish)
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba (All of the anime series that is currently out)
Doctor Sleep (The sequel to The Shining, which I've seen)
Don't Breathe
Embrace of the Vampire (Not scary at all, just really bad)
The Exorcist
Friday the 13th
Fright Night (1985)
Fright Night (2011)
A Good Marriage (Stephen King story, not really scary at all)
Green Room
The Haunting (This was legitimately what I would have considered the scariest movie I'd ever seen in high school. It terrified the shit out of me and gave me nightmares for years. So when I watched it again recently, for the first time in 20 years, my god it was so easy to laugh my ass off at how bad it is. A demon defeated.)
Hellraiser
Hereditary
House of 1,000 Corpses (Seen it before, but not since it came out 😊)
Insidious
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
It Chapter 2 (Had seen part 1 before quarantine)
It Comes At Night
It Follows
Let Me In
Let The Right One In (Swedish)
The Lighthouse
The Little Stranger
Lo
The Lodgers
The Mandela Effect
Marrowbone
Mermaid: Lake of the Dead (Russian)
Midsommar
Misery
A Nightmare on Elm Street
The Nun
Odd Thomas
Opera
Orphan
The Others
Paranormal Activity
Pet Sematary
Pet Sematary remake
Poltergeist
The Purge
Queen of the Damned
A Quiet Place
Rabid
Ready or Not
Rubber
Rosemary’s Baby
Salem's Lot
Saw
Shark Exorcist (Just don't ...)
Sinister
Slice (Definitely more comedy than horror)
The Stuff
Therapy for a Vampire (Austrian. More funny than scary)
Thirst (Korean)
Tusk
Twilight Zone (Season 1 of the Jordan Peele reboot)
The VelociPastor
Winchester
The VVitch
Wrinkles the Clown

Yeah I definitely want to see it! Might take my nephew out to it if he's interested. It sounds pretty solid all around and I've heard similar thoughts about Jim Carrey being classic Jim Carrey, haha.

We went and saw Sonic The Hedgehog. It honestly was better than I expected. Still aimed more at kids, but a lot of nods to the original fans of the series that I appreciated (like chili dogs). Jim Carrey was almost 90s level again and it was both a bit freaky and amazing at the same time... I definitely think he did well in the roll. I just hope the promised sequel will be as good if not better.

I also went to see Rise of Skywalker. I really enjoyed it and appreciated the way the 9-episode saga was wrapped up. Definitely a rollercoaster ride and the visuals and surround audio really added to the climax. Definitely see it in a theater with good sound!

Went and saw Rise of Skywalker. I have mixed feelings. I mostly liked it, but I'm also going through some depression. Fun stuff.

Saw Frozen II twice over the weekend (once just me and the wife, second with the kids). It was WAY better than the first, IMO. Excellent character development, beautiful visuals, and fantastic music (Kristoff's song is legit the best!). I ABSOLUTELY recommend seeing it in a theater if you even remotely enjoyed the first one. Only warning for little ones: the climax is a feels train followed by a "scary" bit, SPOILER:but immediately following those two is the resolution and happy times return.

Went and saw "Terminator: Dark Fate" last weekend. It was OK. I mean, it's still no "Judgement Day," but it had its moments.

Every Terminator from "Salvation" on essentially likes to pretend T3 didn't happen (at least that's what McG said about it when I was at the panel for it at Comic-Con.) "Genisys" essentially re-writes the first Terminator movie and "Dark Fate" takes over immediately after "Judgement Day."

I'd pretty much order the franchise:
"Judgement Day" (T2)
"Terminator"
"Dark Fate"
"Genisys"
"Salvation"
"Rise of the Machines" (T3)

I wouldn't really rank "Sarah Conner Chronicles" in there since the show was its own thing, but then again that's the way of things from T3 forward. It would probably fall around "Dark Fate" or "Genisys."

I actually haven't. Will have to check them out! Especially since I absolutely Karl Urban, all the way back to when he was in Hercules and Xena.

As in, lovingly/good fan made? Hehe.

I finally hit up the John Wick's last year! Loved them. So yeah I'm stoked for the next on.

Hah!

Brandon and I were in a fan-made trailer for "Alita." The guy who shot it heard there was talk of a movie (again) and really wanted to make his own film, thinking it might fall through again. Even though the guy has a wide array of professional credits in TV and film, this was his little passion project and ... it definitely looked fan-made.

I just remembered the third "John Wick" movie is coming. Yup, looking forward to that.

This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
