That was really freaking cool! I love Doctor Who and Tesla Coils, so this was perfect! XD
Tesla Coil music is really much cooler in person, though. Maybe it's the added danger factor? |

So, these guys (Arc Attack) have dual Tesla coils cone speakers built using transistors so they can rapidly turn them on and off to emulate the motion of speakers producing sound. That way, they can blast sound-infused lightning sparks from both coils and create awesome music. This is one of many videos I took at Maker Faire on Saturday. The guy in the middle is wearing a chain mail suit, to conduct the sparks through his suit to the grounded chain mail below him. Also, he's plugged directly into the lead guitarist so that the sparks actually sync with the music. |
