Man, I wanna travel to temples on my birthday.

The columnist's reasoning for changing the word to fruit fly was actually kinda sweet. He said he'd rather not call the strong, beautiful women of his life hags, so he created this term so it wouldn't be offensive to them.

Honestly, I prefer fag hag. I don't consider it an insult at all, even in dissecting the phrase.

When Stitch and I ran away to Northern California for a while and crashed at my aunt's house she called my mom concerned saying I'm a fag hag and she should be worried. My mom thought that was funny.

Not much of a gay community around here, just old racist retirees. I'm still pretty new when it comes to any sort of slang of any type.

Honestly, I think fag hag sounds better than fruit fly. Both work, but I seriously doubt that a change for PC-ness will really work when the gay community on the whole is fine with the original term.

Well, a fag hag is a chick who hangs around gay men. Fag-hagging's pretty much just hanging out with a gay man, painting the town, talking about our feelings, having corndog eating competitions, and so on. :-P

Odd thing about it. One of the columnists at the paper a couple months ago wrote that we shouldn't be called fag hags any more, but rather fruit flies. Well, what can one expect when his column is seriously entitled "That's So Gay!"

Sounds like you had yourself a busy birthday!

By the way, what in the nine Hells is "fag-hagging"?

Hey, thanks again for all the birthday wishes.

Well, my sugar daddy's not as rich as yours, Shuyin. No garish trips to anywhere cross country for us.

We went hiking/rock climbing then had Cajun/Creole for dinner with my parents on my birthday. The next day we went exploring around L.A. Went to the Coroner's office, this temple that was straight out of National Geographic, wandered through downtown just looking at old buildings and watched people living. Lunch at this hipster place. Friends took us out for dinner in Little India, then bowling, then yogurt in the middle of the night.

It's been an odd few days.

A couple days ago, I interviewed this professor from my university who has this rare, debilitating and fatal illness that's made her blind in one eye and making it harder to walk on her own. She climbs mountains and scuba dives and ballroom dances with her husband. She's getting ready to climb Everest in June before the disease fully takes hold.

I still have to write the story. And another one that's going to be a first-person narrative about the time Brandon and I had to be saved during a hike.

It's almost been one of those focusing on mortality birthdays. Unintentionally. I'm not trying to be deep or morbid or anything like that.

Well, gotta write those stories. Then it's off to fag-hagging with Stitch around San Francisco.

EDIT: Heh, forgot to mention that Brandon and I had gone drinking with friends the night before my birthday and when it hit midnight, Brandon told them all and we all ended up taking turns singing karaoke to a crowded bar. Brandon and I CLEARED the people standing around singing Metallica's cover of "Whiskey in the Jar." Kinda crazy. A few people had too much to drink.

The KFC's around us changed their menu's and recipes around (maybe everywhere?), also did a cutdown on some of their meals. For instance they had a few that came with two sides, now for the same price you only get one side.

So the food got worse and you get less for the same price.

I want Popeyes right now!!!

Oh yes, happy birthday!

Anything major happen? Cool presents?

Hear fucking hear. KFC is so over-rated as far as I'm concerned.

One of my yuppy cousins on the Filipino side of the family has this saying that you know you're in a bad area if you see a Popeye's.

Oh shits...25....We're all getting old.

In all seriousness though, Rogue, you've done more cool shit for being only 25(as of today that is!) than most people could even fathom.

So, besides "Happy Birthday!!!" I have one other thing to say.

Badass.
