If only I've had video camera during some of failures I've seen. At least I now know what it's about. The whole Rickrollin' got old after the first couple weeks.
I was watching a video about the cat last night. Apparently that video was made 20 years ago. The cat's name was Fatso, or something to that extent. I don't how somebody got a hold of the video after all these years, and even more perplexing is why it caught on so quick and became such a hit. |

I honestly would like to see this replace Rickrolling. It makes for something a bit more original, other than "Check this cool new video out...? Probably a Rickroll..." *drums* "Yep." *closes video* |

Originally posted by Cyro Xero That's pretty much it. It's pretty much a play on vaudeville (and particularly a couple of Family Guy characters). If the crowd wasn't enjoying your act, or you fell on your face, or even just exiting the stage, playing music was supposed to be enough of a distraction for you to get off and not look even more foolish. I guess just walking off the stage looks a bit pathetic, but walking off to music isn't as bad. Also it may mask the boos and hisses you get if your act sucks. Better that than them pulling out the large wooden hook to pull you off the stage with. |

Oh man! the one of the black reporter and the bug in my mouth had me dying! Dude swears up a storm, even when Keyboard cat is playing. This thing is a little bit the rage at the other board I go to.
So I gotta ask since I didn't quite get this meme, what does it mean to "play someone off"? Is it to take the audience's attention away from massive failures? |

So there's a new meme out there finally replacing Rickrolling (which has long since jumped the shark, but now that adults know what Rickrolling is, it's getting further and further done to death).
It's inserting the Keyboard Cat in after a rather unfortunate bout of fail. Just like on Family Guy whenever those two vaudvillian characters would appear--one doing a dance, stunt, or joke that would fail, then asking his partner to "play him off" with a quick piano tune. Obsoive... More sightings of Keyboard cat: Want more? http://playhimoffkeyboardcat.com |
