I remember that comercial!!!
He made me happy. I'm on a roll here, with noticing random things about politicians...(Like how Biden's wife is hawt)...but...Take away any bias. Whether you support the guy or not...is he not charming?! Like seriously! |

It's really funny to me how people keep talking about how he's a representative of black people everywhere.
He's a representative of MY people: the bi-racials. People think being half-and-half makes it so you're "accepted by everybody," which is FAR from the truth. At long last I see a president who collected comics and probably had to check the box marked "OTHER" whenever he had to write in his ethnicity, just like I do. *Loving sigh* |

Are you going to let the what the media says influence your opinion him? I don't care if it's there job, the news needs to stop trying to find little hiccups in everybody and blowing them up. How many people actually care about that stuff? |

There were over one million people at the inauguration. Not one person was arrested. I hope that tells you something.
And because the oath wasn't said correctly, he re-took it, so there would be no controversy. |

All I have to say is that I think it's great that we have a non-white president in office and that I really hope things go the best for him in running this country and dealing the with problems at hand. He came into office at a fairly severe time. However, I said it to a few of my friends IRL and I'll say it here: one thing he'll have to be very careful about is assassination attempts Lot's of people who dislike blacks, let alone muslims.... |

Apparently there's a sudden demand for Aretha Franklin's giant bow hat.
Guess it's catching on. |

I thought it was funny that the chief justice messed up the presidential oath. Obama caught it and paused for Roberts to notice the error and correct himself.
The correct Presidential Oath of Office can be found here in Article II, Section I of the Constitution: Constitution Page 2 |

Calling him the "black president" repeatedly, is going to further segregation ideals. Ever since I read that during the 1800's, the black people actually WANTED to be called "Americans" not "African Americans" I've been slightly more gungho on respecting how people are refered to. Not saying that I don't have my jokes...but...that's what they are. Jokes. And jokes ONLY to be used among those who see the humor and will understand that it's meant for humor (and I can take what I dish out. Those who can't, don't deserve to even JOKE about anything)
Other than that...I'm still not politically savvy...not in the slightest. But that's okay..."politics" started as opinions of the heart, so I'm sure starting off that way myself isn't so terrible... But...I think it's neat. I have no political reasons to back up why I'm proud to call Barack Obama my President. I have nothing factual to support my opinion...but...It's worth giving him a chance. I really do think his administration will be capable of changing a lot. If anything, all of this has really fired up the youth. Two women. A guy old enough to be my GRANDFATHER'S grandfather. And a Black man. It doesn't matter who people supported. While you all can disagree on who you wanted to be in office and why...I'd like to think we can all agree that it got our attention. I've never seen so many young people into this type of thing as I have this time around. (And for the record, no, it doesn't further segregation to announce their genders, race, and age. It acknowledges the segregation that exists, and the barriers that were broken. Adding this disclaimer might be a bit much, but I don't ever want to intentionally contradict myself.) |
