Yeah, it's really only my mum overreacting. From what my FRIEND'S parents have told me, I've done pretty well.

Yeah, basically if you can't get into a 4 year school, the 2 year ones will automatically take you. You get a whole clean slate.

Even if you still get a 2.0 gpa with the clean slate, if you have enough units to transfer, they'll still take you, provided you dont go into one of those special majors like nursing or something that's too full.

But if school isn't your thing, then why bother? Go get that apprenticeship or whatever and earn that C average paycheck the rest of your life =/

Honestly, the only real way to make it in this world nowadays is with a 4 year degree.

You can get a job without that "4 year degree", its all about social networking and having the skills. Yes that piece of paper is nice but not required....

And Ryan, don't fret to much you've got another year of school prior to you going off to college if I recall how the British Education System works. Pretty much just crackdown if you want to head off to a university...and if not come to the US the pound is stronger then the dollar schooling here would be cheaper comparatively. Plus you get a chance to study abroad and most of the Game Design/Tech Sector is located here in the US, especially California.

C is average, why so upset? Just work harder next year and it should balance out your GPA. If you are really worried about it, go to a two year university first and then transfer to a bigger one later.

Well today I just got my grades for my work over Sixth Form, All C grades (Highest being A, lowest pass grade being E).

Now I've just had a discussion with my mum (Well, it was more of her talking at me and bursting into tears near the end) about how I should have done better and how that isn't good enough to get into universities.

I'm just lost at the moment on what I want to do. I mean, one option is continue with what I've got, hope a university will accept me and try and do better in my next year of study.

Another would be to drop higher education altogether and either find an apprenticeship or go into work... I'm not entirely sure how that will work out either.

I'm just lost in my choices and need some suggestions...
