Well, its been more than 30 days and I haven't been working on the project. I put up a new message on the site:
So, it seems that there haven't' been any updates for a while. Well, that is true. The reason being that the sole developer (Lord Alexandor) got a job and has been working all kinds of hours. This project hasn't been abandoned or forgotten, but is on temporary hold until life smooths out again. I (Lord Alexandor) am in the middle of moving to a new home (first time homeowner!) and I'm working non-regular hours in order to pay the bills. Once things start to become regular again, progress will resume. Expect something to happen in the next 3-6 months, but release has been pushed back to TBD...=\
So, now that Minecraft has stopped consuming all of my free time, I am working at a job. This means I don't have the long stretches to commit to working on BOSS. I should be able to resume work within 3-6 months, though. I'll keep Xeogaming updated when updates happen.

THIS IS NOT FORGOTTEN, ABANDONED OR OVER! IT WILL BE FINISHED! Just...later...=(

I look forward to it. But I might not be active within the next week or so (Work, Fallout, and Family issues). But I can arrange something.

Donations are accepted at any time! I'll be happy with what I can get.

Also, I've got Bitmap, DS, and Cairoi set as the next 3 testers. I have Xeus, Phoenix, and Vulkar already. The next round of testing should start within the next 30 days.

I haven't been able to work on it too much lately, I've been working on getting a job and minecraft. I have ideas on how to do items, so when I do work on them, I'll get it done in a day or two. Making said items do things, though, could take an extra day or three...

Since Lord Vulkas Mormonus is leaving us soon, I have PMed him with a super-pre-alpha preview pass to the project. I have also sent one to my Lord Xeusalexanders VII. I have one other one, but I'm saving that for a special occasion and/or person.

Hope you guys enjoy! Also, don't freak out if something changes or a character disappears. I'll try not to let that happen, but sometimes...well...I forget to back up the live server and just overwrite from the developer server.

Other invites will go out when battles actually work...sorta. =S

Edit: I sent one to Lord Phoenix as well, so there are 3 people to test. 3 more invites will go out when items and ranged weapons are finished. 3 more when magic works. Then I will open registration after everything is ironed out.

Semi-Official Update

All official updates will now be posted on the Project: BOSS Website and will be linked here. Comments are disabled on the website for now, so just post here with questions, comments, and/or concerns. Eventually, the site will have comments enabled for players, but not for visitors.

Speaking of updates, a new update was posted to the site, so you may want to check it out. It is copied below:

Due to my extreme lazy nature, I can promise static sprites, and not animated, ahaha. But that can always change based on supply and demand (or need/deadlines stuff)

Well, I am looking for an artist. Check here for more details. Project: BOSS needs some art...=D

Also, I am not actually using any ACMLM code for the system. It will integrate fairly loosely to the board. Essentially, its a stand-alone system with the users shared into ACMLM. All the output will be very simple and I shouldn't have too much trouble getting it into ACMLM.

After I get this down and ready, I've got another project to re-code ACMLM to be easy to use and easy to modify. It is currently called Project: MAGNETO.

I must say, I'm greatly insterested in how this project is going to work. I know for a while back, we had a PvP system that was humorus, but it failed after a while due to glitches, and the peiced together code.

I can see where that would work, but a full on RPG? You have my respect LA, if you get this going, and it's solid. ACMLM isn't the easiest of code to work with. If you need help with side stuff (that isn't code) let me know. I may beable to look into spriting for you for the hell of it.

Of course, that's in my free time.

In a word: No. The "stats" you are referring to are arbitrary and will not have any connection to character stats. Each Player (user) will be able to have 10 characters at any one time. Each character can be completely different. Thus, the stats you refer to wouldn't work very well...

Well, the job is going well. Almost too well. I work morning shift (7am-3pm) most weekdays, so when I get home, I'm tired. Therefore, I haven't done much work on the Project. On top of that, I've been helping a friend with some personal issues. Hopefully, I can get back to regular updates in October.

I am looking to get items working and have a 1 week developer preview test with a few people. I'm going to try doing weapons only with different classes. No skills, no magic, no buffs, and no enchantments, just pure stats and weapons. I'll try to shoot for having this preview by November 3rd, 2010.

OFFICIAL UPDATE:

Summary of the Past

Project: BOSS is progressing slowly...like not at all. I have recently gotten a job, so development has slowed considerably stopped for now. However, I do plan to do some work this week. Also, all development is now local and backed up on DuW. My computer is now a WAMP server!

Skills and spells are still being worked on by Natimus, and I don't really expect to see much for a few weeks. Spells, skills, and ranged attacks will all be put on a back-burner until we hammer out the melee stuff...And items.

Big News Today

So, I now have a job and work 45 hour weeks. This cuts into my project time quite a bit, but a basic item shop should be ready before next week. I have created my WAMP server and got most of the critical tables in place for items/equipment and skills.

The Future

I am still working on mundane equipment, the item shop, and a basic battle interface. I have created the tables to allow for spell-scripts to be attached to any item, so enchanted/magical items are possible. Natimus is still working on the spells, abilities/skills, and weapon trees. I am STILL looking for an artist to do some static sprite work for me (paid position). Check here for more info.

Big News Today

So far, a 1v1 melee battle with level 1 characters takes anywhere from 30-150 actions (15-75 rounds) with each action being a normal attack with no modifiers (stats only). I plan on testing weapons, shields, and armor (basic sword and shield with armor) later today or tomorrow. A basic item shop should be ready shortly thereafter.

The Future
