Well, food for thought this Memorial Day weekend.

Hug your loved ones tight.

It just sucks.

**shrugs** Sometimes coming up with explanations makes things harder. I have family over there now and a very good friend of mine. We all write to each other every day almost, and so far so good. Everyone's safe, and one gets to come home soon.

Again, it just sucks. No matter which angle you take.

Yeah, we should just get out of there, I can agree to that, but a lot the Iraqi civilians want us there to help them out. You can look at this video and feel bad for the girl, it is something terrible to have happened, but people in Iraq are going through the same thing. Sometimes worse. That soldier died for our country, considered an honor by many. Husbands over there aren't so lucky. They die for no reason. Sometimes from collateral damage, other times from being forced to fight by a group of insurgents. I would take a little comfort in knowing my spouse died in combat rather than dying the role of someone who was forced to become suicide bomber lest his family be murdered. Can you imagine what horrors wives over there must be going through that aren't even being documented?

The husband in that video died fighting an insurgent. The insurgent who killed him, assuming he was married, might have had his wife and children killed for not doing so. Which is worse? It's never a good thing to have a loved one lost. I can imagine very well how bad things would for my family. Just know there two sides to every war.

Actually... I really don't know what to say... I've discussed this many times with my mom and she winds up crying instead of me. It's true... I understand what I have gotten myself into... but you know it happens all the time over there... It can't be helped until we are pulled out.

I have lost a couple of friends from AIT this month. They were over there and they had been hit by rockets and bombs... I wanted to just cry when I found that out. I pray every day for these people. Some of these people going out there are 18 and 19. You have only sons and daughters out there now... Things will never be the same for this widow or this person's family.

I believe that we all should learn to be strong and face what hits us... Yes we are not prepared for the worst, but we all will find out what may be around the bend.

I'm against us still being in the middle east... still. We need to get out because we are not needed anymore. What ever happened to taking men and women off the battle field?
