OMG Cairoi, we need a Sylvia Brown in Dreamstone! *gasp*
Montel: "Fuck this." *takes the blue pill* |

Sylvia: "In the future, there will be machines. The machines will start off as friends, but something will happen, and the sun will be blocked out. Soon, it will be the machines who own us."
*turns to audience* Sylvia: "This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes." *audience takes red pill* Sylvia: "Beam us up, Scotty." |

Originally posted by Elara Actually, the main reason why I found this list was because I was stuck watching Montel that day and I noticed she kept saying the world was ending in 93 years, so I had to look into that. Didn't Nostradamus predict the world would end in 3790? From what I remember it would be by a comet hitting Earth near New York (ala Deep Impact), but man would have already started living in space stations by then. Ah, prognosticators. |

I think the only thing that made me happy was that she didn't go on about the world ending in 2012 like all the other "psychics" do. Out of all of it, I only hope the surgery, cancer, and car things are true... okay, and the aliens... if we don't try to blow them up that is. |

Originally posted by Project 13 When Zoso read over the list after I posted it he mentioned that she must be watching too much Star Trek, Stargate SG-1, and otherwise just being stupid. It's somewhat amusing what Star Trek has made up that have managed to become real in the future (seriously, Star Trek's influenced a lot of modern science or at least been really good at illustrating concepts that man had only just discovered), so she probably looked at the possibility of what they've got becoming real and went off of that. |

I got about 15 things into the list.
These things aren't a prediction. They are things that anybody with half a brain could have seen coming. And everything she's predicted has been in a sci fi movie at some point. Most of those bad sci fi movies. It's not that I don't believe in psychics, but she definitely is not one. |

"13. Babies will be birthed in water all the time, with music, incense, and green and lavender lights. "
Dude, that was like, 40 years ago. Get the facts straight. Alright, watch ME predict the next hundred years: The middle east will STILL be fucked up, out presidents will continuously get worse, gas prices will hit $8 a gallon, and cigarettes will cost 12 dollars a pack. Aliens might comes, America will attack them because we're stupid and attack everything we don't understand. This will piss off the highly evolved aliens, and result in mass human genocide. Goodnight, sweet prince. |

Heh, reminds me of something that one of my friends went through. He ended up going by a psychic prediction place, and saw a sign, indicating ti was closed, "Out, due to unseen illness."
I hate these frauds, and Sylvia looks extremely ugly. |

These are absolutely hilarious. She's been watching way too many cyberpunk movies lately or something. |

If you've ever gotten stuck watching daytime television, you might have caught the Montel Williams show with this older woman on who supposedly talks with the dead and sees the future and all that without any effort.
Many come to the show with difficult questions and she answers them bluntly and quickly without any other words or explanations than what she says, making the person asking feel alienated and left with nothing else to say or think. Example of a typical episode: Woman #1: My husband died last year. Is his soul all right? Sylvia: He's in heaven. Montel: Next question! Woman #2: My daughter has her heart set on going to college... Sylvia: She'll go to Harvard. Montel: Next question! Woman #3: My son disappeared 5 years ago, where is he? Sylvia: He drowned 4 years ago. Montel: Next question! So Sylvia, who's been making oodles and oodles of money on her books and appearances on Montel has these predictions for the next 100 years: http://www.sylvia.org/home/2000plus.cfm Originally posted by Sylvia Browne on her website Now Sylvia has been caught a few times: Now you can take the list with a grain of salt, maybe it's at least good for a laugh. Either way, people who prey on the misery of others are evil. EDIT: I remembered seeing this these before and just re-found them now: |
