Yeah, even after signing up for shit loads of stuff using my GMail account, I STILL only have 10 junk mail after three months of having it. And half of that is forum notifications from Anime League telling me people replied to a thread I made/a thread I posted in.
Go GMail! |

This was done on Yahoo, but I have used two other ones, G-Mail, and a serverwide client mail.
G Mail diddnt have squat. And the serverwide client diddnt either. Which goes to show you that I shouldent use Yahoo for my mail anymore |

Wow, that is rather sad. I can't believe how much lack of security there is with emails. Was this with yahoo? Wonder if it's just as bad with others. |

I don't know what to say other than that's just downright sad. |

So I completely forgot about this project I was working on about Internet security through E-mail.
It was a bonus project I came up with for extra credit. But today I got a notification reminder of it. So turning this in would be a waste, but I thought it was pretty interesting. You see, it started with me testing an E-mail account that would be left untouched for a year. No E-mails sent, no sign-up involved, no nothing. Just a blank E-mail account with no interest tags by Yahoo or anything. Well, I wanted to see how much junk, viruses, Any-kind of ware involved. Would be sent to your E-mail. Guess how many I got Hello: PLCDH31804, You have 1304 New 40978 Bulk messages in your inbox. And many thanks to the technicians of the PLC, I scanned each and every one of them while I was in town today doing buisness. The results are: 6 Viruses that effect Memory Drives. Some of the links were links to previous worms Hundreds of thousands of Spyware (Majority linked to porno sites ) thousands of corruption data / corrupted Random Text messages that links to nowhere So yeah, discuss this. |
