If I had to list my personal favorites;
Tekken, virtua fighter, Soul Caliber. Mortal Kombat is waaaaaay over rated, they've been selling the same game with a different name to you for the last 6 years. DBZBT2 was great, but I found I got bored of it way to quick, and the learing curve on any any system was about 2 minutes for it. |

POWERSTONE, I FORGOT.
And actually, the Dragonball Z fighting games lately are pretty good, at least in my opinion. I got sick of Tekken when Tekken 3 came out. |

Ive got Powerstone working on my computer. (Dont ask, lets just say my friend "Goat" helped)
I played it alot on the dreamcast. Tis an extremely fun game. I wanted to get Power stone 2, but at the time I diddnt have enough money to buy it. Edit- I remember Tips and Tricks saying something about it years ago, did it ever come out BTW? I got a PS2, PS3, and a hardcore PC. Edit- Does anyone remember DBZ: Final Bout? I had a mod chip and played the HELL out of this game. ( I miss it so much ) It was an OLD PS1 fighting game that just about everyone wanted to get their hands on back in the Gool Ol' days. By far the BEST DBZ game out there. |

All I'm going to say about the Virtua Fighter series is ... I can't stand them. It feels so utterly broken and amateurish compared to Tekken or DOA, regardless if its probably the oldest series, but that's me.
Anyways, what systems do you own Nagis? Because if you've got a Dreamcast laying around, Power Stone is an awesome obscure fighting series (two came out for the DC). I really have no idea what to compare it too, imagine a fighting game with action like the Smash Bros games, in somewhat 3D, with a lot of Japanese/otaku-like humor ... or something. |

Wryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy* (aka Dio) was in Jojos Bizarre Adventure or some crunk like that?
I like many fighting games, but not Mortal Kombat. Ugh. Ew. Etc. Although, I really love Sub-Zero. *No "h". |

I was a pretty decent street fighter person, Especially the Hyper edition where the game was seriously fast =D
Vega + My fingers = Death I played Soul Caliber 3 religiously while I was in Flordia, right now my best character would have to be Aseroth. Slow, but I can work with him easily, plus his HK and BLK-K are pretty decent to start trouble with me around. Oh yeah, question: What fighting game was Dio Brando in? (Incoming Wryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy) *Thanks TP |

Byte, that's bull. You just have to know where to look.
Alright, first off, King of Fighters is a personal favorite of mine, it's wonderful and amazing. I'd suggest playing 99, 00, and 03. However, here's some suggestions for you. Soul Calibur 2: Soul Calibur 3 pisses everyone off. 2 has less features, however, the character weights are more realistic (aka Astaroth is slower and such), and it's overall a more authentic weapon fighter feel. Virtua Fighter is a great series, true, but I've yet to really get into it that much. Guilty Gear is one of my favorite games of all time, with Chip Zanuff and Ky Kiske being my two main men. Oh, Samurai Showdown is also worth a look in to. BTW, I never really was a fan of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. I dunno, that's just me. |

Virtua Fighter 5 is the only really good fighting game out right now. |

I downloaded Mugen a few days ago and loved it. But the only problem with that is the fact that there isnt really a supply of SNK characters out there (Like Dio Brando, WHRRRYYYYYYYY)
But anyways, I checked out Cairoi's profile and looked into KOF, looks pretty decient. I got Soul Caliber 3, its not bad, but jeez it kinda pisses me off sometimes. Guilty Gear was awesome at first, but I took it back. I remember Sol badguy was my best char on that game (Testiment was a FUCKING BITCH on there) I also took it back, because, well, you have to turn around by mashing a button. And I would much rather move the joypad to the opposite direction when I want to change directions. Oh yeah, and before any of you guys Say Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. I know, its like 80 dollars. I play it pretty much at the Arcade all the time. But im not wasting my money on the PS2 version if its that expensive. So guys, share your thoughts on some good fighting games. |
