| Phoenix saw the second explosion through the ash, and saw the shadow of Kevin fly back and to the ground. The time was now.
Phoenix let loose the energy he had been searching for. A cascade of fire escaped from Phoenix, bellowing forward in excitement. He quickly took control of the fire, and sent it down towards Kevin. As the fire moved, it shaped into a long pillar that spiraled downward, forming a small tornado-like funnel that would channel all the hot air down and oxygen up. It had not yet reached Kevin, but soon would. It would be getting hotter and harder to breath on the street. "Let us end this, Kevin." |

| Phoenix prepared as Sorcha ran towards him, and spun quickly as she launched over him. A kick was spinning its way towards him.
Acting on reflexes, Alastor flipped his knife to face downward in his fist and sliced the air horizontally, the blade facing towards the ground. Alastor took the kick to the stomach a split second later, and it sent him flying backwards several meters.. He quickly rolled to his feet and looked to Sorcha, looking to see if his dagger had made contact. With no time to react, Sorcha's leg should have been sliced open by his dagger, and the effects were something he could really use right now. The energy still cracked on his fists as he swallowed, dirt and saliva scratching his dry throat on the way down. This was getting rough. |

| Name: Alastor
Appearance: Male. Black shoulder length hair tied into a ponytail. Grey eyes, approximately six foot tall. Wears a black t-shirt, a pair of jeans and black Converse sneakers. He has a pale complexion. Backstory: Alastor was a dead spirit was trained and used as an assistant to the Greek God, Hades. He trained for centuries by fighting dead spirits for Hades' amusement. After a while, Hades sent Alastor to the surface to find other powerful beings and send them to the Underworld so Hades can build a vast army to overthrow his brother, Zeus. Weapons: Under normal circumstances, Alastor uses his black-bladed longsword. It is made entirely of Dark energy, and can be changed from its solid for to energy at any time, if Alastor wills it. When not in its energy state, the sword is a solid, and unbreakable as it is magically infused. His other weapon is a dagger crafted and cooled in the river Styx, making it unbreakable. It also grants him tremendous energy reserves, but slowly feeds from his energy source, making him weak over prolonged usage during the fight. If cut by this dagger, the wound cannot be closed during the battle unless it is burnt shut. The area around the wound also becomes chilled, and hinders movement further by numbing the nerve ending. Powers: While in the Underworld, Hades taught Alastor three energies that he himself uses. All three can be used as projectiles or charged to his fists/feet/weapons. All have different effects, depending on what it is charged to. Dark Energy: The energy of the wicked. This energy grants greater strength to Alastor, increasing the strength of the hit/kick/slash that he uses it with. In raw projectile form, it will feel like a punch of varying strength, depending on how strongly it has been charged. Rage Energy: The energy of the adamant. This energy is damaging by more than physical means. It will burn and explode on the opponent if hit, depending on how it is used. When used as a projectile, it will explode on contact, with similar results when used on a punch or kick. The sword attack will burn and feel like varying attacks of physical strength. Soul Energy: The energy of the dead. This energy burns the opponent, constricting the muscles it hits and weakening them for a few posts in that area. Different effects when used on a weapon. Isn't anybody that teaches a college class a Professor? And just to be funny, you should call him madam, as that is what he asked for. 
While in here, I suppose I could have a big "Fuck You!" shout out to one of my supposed friends. Backstabbing son of a bitch. No names mentioned, of course, but lets just say they should fix their own problems instead of causing more in my life. That is very general, but yeah. It needs to be, for untold reasons. |

| The closest I've come to doing that is telling them that I think they are unqualified to teach the class, and I am immediately switching out to find someone better. Not in person, though, because I'm a scaredy cat.
(and no, that is not a stab at you Rogue. I either had the choice of email or telling them face-to-face, and I chose email. )

| Yes, I have noticed that, but I don't think it has happened to mine...
It also appears at the end of True's signature. My layout also broke, and it appears every time you visit the 'Edit Profile' link, it adds a pair of backslashes around something in your layout, possibly multiple times. | OOC: My attack wasn't supposed to hit you yet. I was charging it, because it is supposed to be powerful. It wasn't supposed to reach you until this post. But whatever, I'll play along. And how did you just push the air?
BIC: Phoenix saw the grenade rocketing towards him and immediately released his hold on the fire. He had a plan that would surprise Kevin deeply. As he released his hold on the fire, he simultaneously concentrated on the energy of the grenade. Heat is energy, Phoenix thought, smiling inwardly. Within seconds, Phoenix had converted all of the grenade's energy into flames, and with no energy, there was no velocity. The grenade stopped in its tracks, and began to fall downwards--until it exploded. Ready for this, Phoenix took all of the flame from the explosion and directed it towards Kevin, along with the magnetically propelled shrapnel. But Phoenix suddenly felt a sharp pain in his legs, the pain of something ripping out of him. The shrapnel that was embedded in his legs was being ripped out. Less work for me, Phoenix thought, gritting his teeth in pain. But he couldn't let it distract him. While concentrating on the fire, Phoenix looked the man coming towards him straight in the eyes--and then lunged forward, his golden sword heading straight for Kevin's heart. Because Kevin was in mid-air, his chance of escape seemed impossible. OOC: Phoenix's sword is unaffected by your magnet because it is made of gold. Gold is non-ferrous. As she ran at him, Alastor tensed, ready for anything. As she threw the slash at him, Alastor flipped over her arm, using it as leverage. He tried to hold on to her arm as he landed on his feet. If he did, he would stab her in the back with his dagger, right where the heart would be. If he could not hold on, he would spin around, and be ready for the her next move. |

| OOC: You didn't specify how many bullets, so I will keep it general in my post, and act as though you fired the entire time.
Phoenix was surprised when he missed, but saw Kevin reaching for the gun and prepared himself. Using the same technique he used to stop the grenade, Phoenix changed all of the kinetic energy from the bullets as they left the gun into fire. It was coming much easier to him now, as it was simple combustion. He was able to stop them af soon as they left the chamber. Bullet after bullet plummeted harmlessly towards the asphalt. As Phoenix did this, he directed all of the fire created in this process flying towards Kevin's eyes. This, along with the shrapnel, was bound to be a nuisance. Still concentrating on the fire, Phoenix dove downwards towards Kevin, sending a slash towards his torso. Because of the fire that was flying towards his eyes, Kevin's visibility would be hindered, and he might not see Phoenix trying to slash at him yet again. |

| Phoenix allowed a smile to play across his lips for a brief moment before concentrating on the shrapnel inside of Kevin. He turned the energy into fire once more, burning Kevin's insides. But this time it was different. The magnet acted on the metal continuously, meaning Phoenix needed to concentrate on the metal shards all the more carefully. The magnet was falling, but its span was only so far. Phoenix changed his direction of flight and flew down the street quickly. Feeling the strain on the metal, and his energy weakening, he allowed a few of the smaller pieces to pass through, shooting out of Kevin and through Phoenix himself. He felt the hot metal tear through his skin and flesh, slicing small parts of his lungs. The injuries were there, but not yet fatal. The heat from the metal burnt everything closed as fast as it left. He would live for now, but needed rest. Then the pull on the metal ceased, and he felt his fire weakening inside the body of the man.
He alighted on top of a flat roof, carrying all of the weight of the limp man the whole time while flying. "Kevin. It is a fight you wanted, and it is a fight I gave you. But it is time to end this. Either surrender now, and we leave as friends, for now at least, or I will finish this fight right now." As Phoenix spoke, he made sure to hold on to Kevin, not allowing him to move his arms. If Kevin made the slightest movement, Phoenix would burst into flames hotter than he had dared use this entire duel. It would burn Kevin to a crisp, as he was sure the man could not use his ice in this state. Phoenix had saved Kevin's life, along with his own. Now Kevin had to decide--fight to the death, or live for another day. |

| An explosion sounded, but it seemed so far away. The man standing in front of him burst apart into a bloody mess. He looked down at his t-shirt, stained with blood, but not sure who's it was anymore. His entire body was soaked, and there were large holes in his chest an stomach, but he felt none of it.
Phoenix fell to his knees, and then to the concrete, blood pooled all around him. His fiery wings slowly faded, leaving two scorching holes in the t-shirt. The remains of Kevin lie broken on the ground, unrecognizable in the carnage. A golden fire started to burn from Phoenix'a back then, spreading slowly until the entire rooftop was alight in a beautiful conflagration. When the fire burned out, there was nothing left of the battle. Not even a scorch mark scarred the final battlefield. The rest of the street lay in ruin, the only signs of the small war that raged among the forgotten buildings. But the battle would not be forgotten. Kevin was sure to find his way back to a physical state, and then he would be looking for something. Something with wings. |

| OOC: Open battle, besides Yasu and Vince. Lol. I am battling Yasu in a separate thread with an interesting method, and I just got done a battle with Vince.
Contract: Three day post schedule, unless notified. If the battle exceeds ten pages, a panel of judges will make the decision. Battlefield: The Lucid Forest. A place between the Dreamworld and the mortal realm. The thin forest stretches on forever, in theory. In it wander many things caught between the two worlds, cursed to wander limbo forever, 'less they find the way out. A large river runs through the Lucid Forest, branching out into many small streams that weave their way between the loosely grown trees. BIC: Sunlight cascaded downwards from the three suns burning in the bright orange sky. A few clouds floated lazily in a soft breeze, their hue a light green. The breeze picked up once more, and a blue leaf fluttered downward to alight in front of a man sitting cross legged upon a flat rock. The man appeared to be meditating, his eyes closed as though in deep concentration, and soft hands lay unmoving upon his knees. Phoenix suddenly opened his eyes, his concentration broken by the snap of a twig echoing in the clearing. The sound had come from the surrounding forest, and Phoenix felt someone approaching his resting place. Someone strong. |
