My question is why he got zapped in the first place. Not shown on the vid, and if it was there on the audio I can’t tell. But cops don't use any sort of force, unless it is provoked. ((Esp if there are ppl around))

As for the guy, well ... I'm throwing my lot in with Avatar. He should have done what they said the first time. Hell even after the first zap (and between the rest) there was enough time for him to regain motor control, and do what he was being told. If the man with the gun says jump, you f***ing jump.

As for racism, I could find no evidence that the cops were being raciest. Was it because he was Mid-Eastern? Is that the reason the 'R' word is being thrown around? Well if that is the case that means that every time a white cop goes to arrest a member of a minority race they are being raciest, and cant do it because it's wrong.

And our society doesn’t promote racism. If you want proof, listen to the news, listen to any one discussing a race problem, and they are talking about how to stop the hate. Hell read our little community here. We are our society.

In fact our society promotes that cops are the bad guys. That they all are crooked, and abuse their power. And are not to be trusted.

Now back to the incident shown here. Maybe it was uncalled for, maybe it is the act of some school yard bullies with badges. But maybe he gave them a reason. All we are going off of is (while it is of good quality, I wonder what brand he used.) a cell phone audio/video.

And one more thing... Just because I'm not jumping on the "Lets get those F***ING cops" band wagon doesn’t mean I condone their actions, or approve of multiple uses of the tazer. In fact I did feel bad for him, and I also wanted to yell "stop". Getting the s*** shocked out of you hurts. But I am willing to give the cops the benefit of the doubt that there was a legit reason behind the first tazering. After that, he should have done what he was told.

*edit, typo attack

Jay Lenno of the tonight show is calling for a boycott of those who are sponsoring this program. And honestly, I agree.

This show is a disgusting idea, and those responsible should be flogged. I feel a deep disgust at the thought of this show, and will refuse to watch it. But since Elara is could you write down the sponsors, so I ((And hopefully many, many others)) can at least avoid them.

I am ashamed that those bastards (OJ, and those behind the show) are even part of the same spices as I am. I guess that every race but have the preverbal bottom of the barrel.

I won't.

I would leave it at that, but it would be spam...

Look, I'm not going to burn everyone at the stake for this dumbassd event, book or otherwise. I just find it wrong.

So basically he fought with the police...

My sympathy for him is waning.

He fought them, and they brought a taser to a wrestling match. It still sucks that it happened to him, but if that report is true then there is nothing really more to be said.

Scout, he knew someone had to do it. So Donavan couldn't complain. Besides, he was still strong enough to break almost anyone, and large enough to act as a mount for large heavy weapons. Add in the ability to move around as quiet as a shadow, and you have a heavy weapon that is hard to track, much less pin down to eliminate.

Also with his size and strength, the added quickness of being a scout would make him that much more dangerous in close quarter, and hand to hand combat.

All in all, it promises to be interesting.

Well if she just left, and didn't make a scene, why would she be needed to be escorted out?

If he did what was told to him, and didn't make a scene, I think he could have left under his own power.

Hell, when I saw this video on the news yesterday, they conveniently didn't play the part where he was shouting at the police (no visual on the action). And then they did a little bit painting the history of one of the officers in a rather bad light.

But what do you expect from a society that teaches cops are bad?

Glancing back at the past posts, I think it's a shame that these cops are in some sense being excused because our society believes cops are bad already.

Where the hell did this come from? A few bad cops here and there who made a few bad judgments. So does that make the whole lot bad? Of course not.

So by saying, "Well, everyone thinks cops are bad anyway, so what these guys did doesn't matter." Yes, it does. Because someone thinks you're a monster, doesn't mean you should prove them right.

I'm tired of these lowered expectations that we have for our leaders and people of authority. I'm not speaking ill of police, hell I know many of them who take every measure they can to still be civilized in the face of adversity and with difficult people by building rapports with them and taking care of tough situations with a cool head about them. These people are heroes.

Granted this student made a VERY stupid decision by making a scene and screaming his head off, but to dismiss the Tazer'ing because it's so-called typical behavior is scary. It's these forms of apathy that truly frighten me. Reminds me of this girl railing about being raped on another forum and warning people to take precautions and people responded back with posts like, "Well at least you got sex out of it" and "Haha. Buttsecks" (though it turned out the initial post wasn't completely honest, the reactions were still sickening).

I honestly don't see either side in the right here and if we just continue this idea that this world is all about hate, racism, and police brutality, then we're all losing.

Rouge, I have not once said that what they did was right. Nor, even in my post looking at the other side of the argument, excused them. (But I did say I was loosing sympathy) In fact I said in my first post that I wanted them to stop as well. There are torture methods similar to what happened. And lets face it, they were inducing pain to get him to comply with their demands. And if this is considered 'typical' police behavior, either we need to look at our view of cops and where it comes from, or we need to stop those who are making it typical.

All I was saying in my last post is that most people seem ready to jump on the "bad cop" band wagon.

Hell I still don't know for sure what actually happened. So I honestly can't take either side. (He should have done what they said, and they didn't need to tazer him as many times as they did.)

And I wasn't trying to defend the cops (or any cop) by saying they were persecuted, or put down so much. What I was saying was that it is wrong to prejudge the situation only on a small number of facts. And everyone seems ready to prejudge the cops in the wrong.

But again, I know as much as anyone else on this board. And that is still not the whole story. So if it comes out that the student was provoked into escalating the confrontation, and the cops were in the wrong, I'll be smiling at the thought of them getting legal action taken against them.

And I agree with you, wide spread apathy, and large accusations of racism, and hate is killing us as a whole, and we all lose.

And a side note, there is a special place in hell for rapist, and I would love to see them get their as fast as possible. And people who think that rape is funny should be beaten.

*Edit: I was in the prosses of responding when you put that edit up.

That is sick. I couldn't watch the whole thing, it's just wrong.

I am disgusted. I don't know what else to say.

So instead of just dismissing something you obviously don't understand, try learning about it.

And one more thing, honor and loyalty are two separate words.

I am against the draft. And agree with Elara, in that being forced into service is wrong. It not much better that the old British navy's way of recruiting sailors. Knock out the applicant, and they wake up on a ship and in the navy.

But should the draft come about I'll just sign up. Like my father before me. Might as well pick which branch I'll go into, and which MOS I'll pick.

But there will be issues of who are exempt, and for what reason.

And as for tightening up the borders, oh please. Like that'll keep everyone from crossing. It most defiantly didn't in the 60s. Beside I'll give out the address of a few people I know (one being a family relation) that has property that extends into Canada.

Besides, Elara no offence but you just might be 4F. And couldn't get in anyways.

Actually Logos I think she was asking me about 4F. And that was a rather uncalled for response.

Elara 4F is to be physically unfit for the military. It is most of the time a physical condition, i.e. inner ear problem throwing off balance, night blindness, or joint problems. But now a days it also includes inability to pass the basic physical entry test.

Donavan opened his case before he left. And grimaced at what he saw. But he knew he shouldn't have hoped for much else. He quickly adjusts, and dons the holsters and places two curved daggers in shoulder holsters, and tightened them down snugly to his chest. A belt goes around his waist and he places the large handgun to the small of his back. "At least this is a decent size" Adjusting the sword belt he settles it so that the handle over his right shoulder.

Geared up he rushes out the door, and for sector two. As he runs, Donavan reaches back with his right hand he clicked the toggle the charge his gun, and link with his Shard system.

Despite his size he runs as swiftly and as silently as a shadow. Soon catching up with Marin just as she is finishing gearing up herself. He runs the rest of the way with her, weaving through the other people in the hall without losing his stride.

Matching his stride with hers he shrugs. "Intruders, maybe an attack. All I know is that we are getting sent to sector two, and I have a feeling that there maybe hostile targets. But until we get the order, I think we should be quiet and keep our eyes open. It could be a drill, or a mistake."

"With my kind of skills?" He asks with a soft laugh as he sidesteps around a much slower researcher. "I can do much more not loaded down, but I would rather have the rifle than the sword. But we get what we get. Besides, I bet I can bag more than you with the short blades." He says shooting her a mischievous smile as he spins around another straggler.

Donavan quickly moves to flank the bend in the corridor. "We need to go down" he says in a horse whisper. Pointing down at the same time. "Down to level 3." He says and starts down the hall. Coming to the stairwell door he opens it and looks down. Seeing nothing yet he starts down the steps half running, half jumping from landing to landing. All as silent as a shadow.

We ((My friends and I)) had a test to see weather of not you are drunk. If you could headbut a wall, and feel nothing. That's it, your drunk.

I once drank so much I vomited in my sleep. It sucked, and I was hung over, and still a little drunk in the morning.

But oddly enough My worst hangover was the first time I got drunk. My friend and I split a large bottle of JD, a bottle of Crown Royal, and Captain Morgans, and roughly about 20 beers. The next morning I felt so sick, but I had to get up at around 6am to do community service. But I stopped on my way into town and had a burger, and that seems to always help me get over hang overs.

My advice, don't get too drunk. It's the best way to avoid a hangover.

*Edit: Beers are easier to drink than Bears... stupid spell check... I need a drink

I OFTEN forget Zabuza's gay. I just don't remind myself that he is when we're hanging out.

Honestly I feel this way is what our society should think. Not be colorblind, but to just have it as the background of the person. ((if that makes sense))

But being white, it seems to be expected that I am raciest. To be honest, I don't care. A friend of mine is black, and gay. And I don't think of him as gay or black, but as him.

But society expects that racism is going to be always around. And when people think that the way things are, are suppose to be a particular way, they become single-minded on the issue and actually works towards that point.

The fix the problem, is for the issue to become a non issue.

But that is my opinion on the solution, and not on the question at hand...

Why is it so worse for a white man to be racist than a black man?

Because it is acceptable.

In one of my theater classes, we were looking for states of being for the actors to portray. And one girl (black, and quite race proud) said "Act white." to a black actor. The actor on stage turns to me (who is next to him) and looks confused. But when someone said that I should "Act black" The same student got offended, and walked out of class. The black actor, and I ended up with those states of being. And to portray that, we stood there and chilled.

But the point is, the girl was offended by the thought of a white guy portraying black. But was tickled to think that a black guy portraying white.

Because, every race has a stereotype. But only those who look white can't playoff of those without being racist.

To everyone out there... If you are proud of who you are. Your race, your history, your culture. Congratulations. That's very good for you. I'm glad that you are proud. I hope more people take pride in who they are. That way you will improve yourself, better yourself. And not just expect to have a hand out for being who you are.

But then again this is my opinion. I don't care who agrees with me. This is my opinion. And I shall practice what I preach. Who ever you are is who you are, and I'll judge you on that, and not on anything else.

"Let's grab them. Then we can sort out the smoke, and any holes" Donavan says and goes after the children, running as quiet as a shadow.

Opting not to draw a weapon he hoped to just simply grab them, and hold them down until they can be restrained in a more suitable way. He also hoped to catch them before they entered the ventilation. In such a tight space his size would be too much of a hindrance.
