| John regained his composure, his focus broken by Katie. He looked at her, then back at this strange new target. Completely flabbergasted by the turn of events, he figured he would make the best of the situation.
"You're welcome to join us, if you like." His words were spiked with an undertone of urgency. Students were beginning to seep into the hallway, curious about the "earthquake" they'd felt. He'd much rather leave before a scene was made. |

Suddenly, John felt this ferocious rage boiling up beneath his heart. It was a simmering blackness, clawing at his mind. "Cody, come with me to the car. I forgot something. Kate, you know what we want, right? Great." John stood up, without waiting for anyone's response. The hairs on the back of his neck were rising.

Deep underground, in a cavern bathed in the flickering glare of fluorescent lights, and old man stands against a pillar, running his hand through the wiry tangles of his beard.

"My dream placed me here, I know that. All that's missing is a man with golden fire. Time to play the waiting game, I suppose." He chuckles and slowly steps over to a chair, struggling to sit himself down.

So, as some of you may have noticed, I made myself a new simbattle character. His profile can be found in the Profile Forum. He is an old man who gains his powers from absorbing the souls of his enemies.

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to make an informal little event of this character. If you fight against Benjamin, you can either win and escape, or lose and have your soulblood absorbed. If you do lose, I've come up with a fun little activity. A new character named Romulus resurrects your character's soul and implants it in one of his disciple's bodies. He gives you the option of reclaiming your body and soulblood by using the disciple's body and abilities, along with a special weapon or technique (haven't decided yet). You get a rematch against Benjamin, and if you succeed with the weapon or technique, your character will be fully restored. I think it could be a fun little opportunity to expand the actual character of the simbattle characters while having them use new abilities. While in these new bodies, they would have access to few of their normal abilities, and would have to adapt to the skills and powers of the disciple. If you're interested, start a thread or post here or anything. This could be a fun excuse to get some activity in the simbattle arena.

As though he had always been there, Benjamin appaeared before the unkind young man, fully poised and with a cold fury in his eyes.

"Respect your elders, you little shit!" Flowing forward, Benjamin launched a punch at Ivan's gut at a speed inconcievably fast for one so old. The force of the punch could easily send Ivan down the steps he had just finished climbing.

I use those abilities for RP reasons only, not in simbattles. It leads him to people with abilities. He cannot control either of those abilities in the slightest. |

John walked calmly as they made their way out of the restaurant. He did not betray his intent or his emotions until he knew they were out of sight. Then, with the swiftness of a beast, he turned and grabbed Cody, throwing him up against a shadowed wall of the building.

"You think I didn't notice what happened in the hallway? I know you were responsible. You smell like one of them, you look like one of them, hell, you fucking act like one of them!" John's eyes widened, the look of anger in his eyes boiling his hazel irises to a radiant yellow.

John stood against the wall, clutching at his arms fiercely. He'd been trying for weeks to suppress this. He didn't want it to come out now.

As the cold sweat dulled his vision, he looked up at the sky. There was going to be a full moon tonight. He wasn't going to be able to control himself. He had to leave. He pushed himself off the ground and looked back at the wall. He'd stained it with blood. His blood. Looking down, he realized he'd clawed through his shirt and broke skin. He didn't look back once.
