Yeah, Tommen was actually recast (along with Daario and The Mountain). The guy playing Tommen now is the same one who played Martin Lannister last season.

I'd be just as irritated were I in your shoes. Trying to figure out her reasoning, it's probably out of pride that she wants to share this event with as many as possible. Parents tend to do that, especially out of worry that if they don't invite family members it'll offend them and therefore make them look bad. But yes, treating weddings like a family reunion is typical.

Linda was something of a Momzilla (out of love, of course, she wanted things perfect, which equated to how she preferred them). We kept having to urge Sara that it was her wedding and she should have things how she liked. Granted Sara's a 20-year-old high school drop-out who got pregnant at 17 and every major decision in her life was made for her by her guardians or the men in her life, so everything in the wedding relied on how cheap everything came or services provided for free by our side of the family. At least you have more gravitas, Elara.

You shouldn't have to sacrifice your location choice because a few more relatives are coming.

To put more perspective on the situation with the driving up without Scott, we were originally going to drive up with Brandon's grandmother as well. However, she was so worn out from the drive from Phoenix to SoCal, Michelle (Linda's sister) bought Mary a plane ticket to fly up with them when they went. This was decided in the middle of the night before Linda came to pick us up. Scott's saying that the moment we found out Mary was out, we should have immediately formulated plans to get him, so he's upset we didn't think of him.

Let me repeat that. It was the middle of the night. We were leaving in a few hours and would have passed Bakersfield, where he says he could have rendezvoused. He was already seemingly determined not to go, already going on about how he was more excited to go to Melinda's wedding in September. Did he really expect us to be so rude as to wake him up and assume he would have the gas money to drive to our route?

Seriously, I hope Jennifer uninvites him. I really don't want to see him, at least not for quite some time.

This is the kind of shit my dad's dad used to pull. He'd suddenly get into his head that he wanted to fuck over my dad and would write letters to the rest of the family (out of the fucking blue, mind) that my dad was wasting money (which is such a joke since Dad's an ultra-conservative tightwad of the highest order) and other ridiculous things.

I don't have much going in my life, but there are a few things I'm happy about.

Had a great trip up to Washington and I finally got to build memories of Seattle and Portland. The last time I was in the area I was 1, and my parents and had taken me up there for Expo '86 in Canada. That's also the last time I've been to Canada, so I'll need to get my passport renewed to one day form memories of that too.

Came back just before my mom and her best friend came back from Yellowknife, Canada. Her friend's from Australia, so we took her around before she flew home. She'll be back in July. She's a big fan of "Game of Thrones" (a massive Tyrion fan) and so we kept talking about it. ALL. THE. TIME.

Bran and I hit 10 years together. Celebrated by going whale watching. Saw a HUGE pod of dolphins and a gray whale. Then went to WonderCon and faire. Pretty tiring weekend. This coming weekend will be pretty packed too.

The next couple months may get busy with people staying at our house, particularly my cousin and her daughter, who's going to be doing a show in Hollywood in June. Sheltered Sacramento kids in the ghetto -- this'll be fun.

I just raced home from San Diego to record this fucking podcast that I've been doing that's been moved to Sunday nights. Fuck my boss/friend's work schedule for this already since it's messing with plans all over the goddamn place.

But then he's stood me up... again... for this fucking thing.

I'm sitting here with all the recording equipment set up, headphones on, waiting for our publisher to sign on to Skype. It's 9:30. Ah fuck it.

I haven't sailed Carnival itself (though I've sailed on lines they own), but based on the people I see loading into the ships that dock in San Pedro, they tend to be a younger crowd with more families. It's definitely skewed toward that age group.

Probably better that way. My last cruise I was surrounded by classist senior citizens.

Well, bon voyage!

It's been an irritating day. Too crazy bad even for the "Fuck you" list.

But I guess I could be happy about the fact that this Saturday is Free Comic Book Day.

Man, do I miss the weather of the Pacific Northwest. It was hovering in the early 60s most of the time. Rained a bit, but I loved it all.

On heading back down, stopped in Sacramento and damn near melted my face off and it was just as bad getting back to L.A.

It was fairly mild this month, but it's been in the mid-90s this week. Bloody hell.

Happy to have taken in Free Comic Book Day yesterday, even if I only slept 2 hours before we headed out for our annual shop crawl. Best holiday ever.

Eep, finals. That's probably one of the few things I don't miss about school.

Just got off the phone with my cousin. My weekends in June are entirely taken up driving my cousin's daughter to and from her show in Hollywood during the fringe festival. She'll be staying with us the entire month.

Then once she leaves, our friend from Australia comes back to stay. We've got grand plans for the first weekend of July.

This month is a bit packed as well, but with much more variety, at least. Going to see Elara (yay!) and shoot post-wedding pictures. Will be dropping by the locations this week to get a good idea of where to shoot.

We're doing faire this weekend. Last weekend was Free Comic Book Day and free day for the animal mummies exhibit at Bowers.

Next weekend is Elara's bonfire and that morning is a Gallifrey One staff meeting. Not sure if I'll be running down to San Diego that night to pick up friends or what. Then that Sunday is our Anime L.A. recruitment picnic (need to bake slutty brownies in the middle of the night and still need to run by the park to figure out which table to take when we get there at dawn).

Spoiler:
That being that Lysa killed Jon Arryn.

I really don't know. I don't have peanut butter sandwiches all that often. I guess my ideal sandwich of that sort would be almond butter with honey on wheat bread eaten the usual way a sandwich is consumed -- thereby swallowing it whole and getting the nut butter and stickiness all over one's face.

Not sure if that answered your question all that well.

Of all of the infomercials you've seen on TV for some new invention or whatever, which one have you been the most tempted to order (especially after hearing the "but wait, there's more!" offer)?

Dude, have you seen that video of the two girls fighting and one eventually throws a shovel at the other's head, yelling at her to get off her property? I keep expecting there to be a news story about the shovel-thrower getting convicted of assault with a deadly weapon and this was the sort of thing I wouldn't have expected anything to happen with 10 years ago. Hell, it would have been on "America's Funniest Homevideos" and that would have been the end of it.

Nothing particularly interesting has happened with Miko and Tiki this year. Miko's a little, old lady (at 10 years old) and Tiki's still all about spending her days on the roof under her little cabana that is an overhanging money tree.

Perhaps them at their most amusing would be when I gave them baths a month or so ago. I have to bring them into the shower with me and then bring the showerhead down to get them wet with warm water, soap them off and rinse. They cry like I'm attempting to drown them as they scratch at the door and slide down upset. It's funny because Tiki was a fucking terror when we used to bathe her in the sink or bathtub, but with this method she doesn't know to scratch or bite me.

Yeah, it was the first spoiler I ever found out regarding ASOIAF/GOT. I'm just glad it's finally out of the way.

Lots of people are complaining about the whole Bran and the Reeds being at Craster's, but frankly, so long as none of them were suddenly killed off or whatever, what does it matter? Are surprises so bad?
