I fucking HATE that phrase, most especially with how it was validated by things like Boost Mobile ads. It's been one of those questions that I'll hear everywhere, specifically said by people talking into their phone with the speakerphone enabled, holding it in front of them and treating it like a damn walkie-talkie. I don't want to hear your conversation. I don't care! But goddamn you if you think you sound hip saying, "Where you at?" There's just so much wrong that sentence. | I ended up having a nervous breakdown this morning.
My uncle was coming by to pick Lola up for a doctor's appointment, which she was then supposed to go to my aunt's house afterwards, but since my aunt is "sick" (and determined to inconvenience Brandon and me) Lola's returning here. I mentioned in the Fuck You thread that Brandon's birthday was Tuesday and we had plans to spend the day out-of-town this week, but those were pretty much thrown out the window because I needed to be here to take care of Lola since Beth wouldn't take her back on Sunday when she was supposed to. Anyway, I'm up extra early, I'm changing Lola's diaper, cleaning her up, changing her clothes, doing her hair, perfuming her, cleaning her glasses, getting her breakfast (it's all just one big argument after another), and then sitting back and waiting for my uncle to come and -- surprise, surprise -- he's over half an hour late. At about the 30 minute mark, she gets up and decides she needs to have a bowel movement. She goes to the bathroom and then starts screaming for me, needing help with pulling her skirt up. She goes and then a few minutes later she's screaming for me to wipe her ass.
My uncle comes, picks her up, and leaves. And for some reason I just burst into tears a few minutes later. It's just.. is this what my life has come to? This is supposed to be temporary, but I just don't know. My parents are insisting I get a job, and yet yelling at me to stay home with Lola. In that same vein, I left my laptop on the dining room table the other day since I have to be down there to watch Lola and I needed to leave in a hurry to take Brandon to class. My mom started using it and deleted all of my tabs (I had like 50 open on Firefox for different things I was looking into and researching). I got home after dropping Brandon off at school, saw her trying to Google some church or some shit and got angry that she just closed everything. My dad then stepped in to go, "Well, you shouldn't have left it there!" and then threatened that he wouldn't let me use his car any more. It's like I'm never allowed to be mad or upset, like I'm being gaslighted. Worse yet, Mom was saying she thought my laptop was hers (mine is white, had this texture on it, and is older. Hers is black, shiny, newer, and wider). WTF, Mom? On top of this, I'm only paid $400 a month (if I'm lucky). I've been having to pay for food and gas for Brandon and myself and even Lola, and then I've been paying Brandon's insurance and schooling. I'm broke. I put so much into making Lola look presentable and taken care of. Whenever we get her from my aunt, it's always, "Give her a bath. She stinks!" You have to bathe her too, you cunt! She can't take care of herself. Her hair is always uncombed, her clothes are never changed, and she just smells like piss and shit all the time. Fuck you, Beth. Worse than all of this, Lola's mind is GONE. Every few minutes she'll ask me about having to pick up my Auntie Evelyn from the airport or something of the like. Even when I reassure her that they aren't coming she'll say OK, move on, and then FIVE FUCKING MINUTES LATER she'll ask AGAIN. She's asking me to make up a bed for family that isn't there and isn't coming. She keeps saying there's a snake in her room or that someone's sleeping under her bed. My parents bitch about having to deal with her at the end of the day, but I deal with her 24 HOURS A DAY. I have to be the one to talk her down from things and try to get her to calm down, take her medication, and go to bed. Fuck that Beth wouldn't take her for the week that she's supposed. I doubt she'll pay me the $200 that would be owed. I just feel so damned unloved, unappreciated, and unhappy. I really just want to leave. I feel like I've lost touch with the world. I miss the little community we had, with the bunnies, and how young and worry-less we all were. |

I turned to the Super Bowl near the end, and got the downer that was them talking about how heartbroken the Patriots' owner was, who apparently lost his wife over the summer and was reeeeeally wanting his team to win. Anyway, I'm watching the Puppy Bowl. |

| Fuck that my aunt is insisting we have Lola for ANOTHER week. I'm not as pissed about this as I was this past week when my anger about not getting to take Brandon out (and at least she agrees that I should be paid these weeks), but it's still annoying. And I can't even begin to tell you how much it's going to fuck things up with how it's now going to us the first half of the month and then her the second.
Ah well... And here's a fuck you to a "friend" who invited herself on our outing yesterday in celebration of Brandon's birthday along with Stitch. There's no polite way to tell someone no if they ask, and we couldn't come up with a valid excuse. Anyway, she claimed she wasn't sick any more and spent the whole day coughing like a TB-infected orphan with black lung without covering her mouth. Then she tried to invite her boyfriend along, which was another awkward moment of trying to figure out how to say no (not that we hate him, it's just when they're together they're REALLY unbearable to be around. They're better separated). On top of this, we went out to eat, she ordered food and drinks, and then suddenly didn't have any money (but said she'll cover the parking -- WOW, $2!!). She seriously ordered $20 worth of food, and then insult to injury went on Yelp to rate the place down saying it wasn't worth her money. I know this isn't really worth much compared to everyone else's fuck yous, but this chick has been working my last nerve for the past couple years. I keep getting stuck hanging out with her because I feel sorry for her. Her best friend dumped her, saying she never wanted to see her again, and on top of this she's bipolar and her emotions are like a lightswitch. Then she's really difficult to communicate with -- flip-flopping on her opinions depending on who she's talking to, and NEVER shutting up. Like I said, I only hang out with her because I feel sorry for her. Fuck that I'm so fucking delusional and thinking things will be fun THIS time. I keep giving her chances because she USED TO BE fun and pretty decent to be around. Now she's like an energy-sucking blackhole and I end up completely lethargic as she continues to be a generally shitty person to be around. Anyway, I know I should cut the chord, and I ended up writing an angry FB message to Lee about last night saying I do not intend on calling her or hanging out with her for a month and he agreed with the sentiment. This all came about because I posted about my plans for the day on his wall, she saw it, and invited herself. Lee immediately messaged me then saying he wasn't comfortable with her coming, but he'd be OK with it if I was. Like I said, I feel sorry for her, and at the same time I'm delusional and yet again gave her the benefit of the doubt, and once again I'm kicking myself for it. For the record, whenever Lee's wanted me to go with him somewhere and bought me a plane ticket, she gets furious that he did that for me and he won't buy her one too so she can go with us. He and I keep having to apologize, on her behalf, to our friends whoever encounter her. Oh my god, I'm STILL ranting! 
Sorry to hear about this shitty textbook of yours. I completely understand on the schoolwork. 
But seriously? That IS a biased book. And this professor is using it? WTF? |

| Oh god, just fuck today, already.
My mom frantically calls and wakes me up to see if my dad was around because she wanted me to tell him to call her brother about renting a container to throw out the rest of the stuff at my grandmother's house. It's something she could have talked about with him when she got home, but I stumbled down the hall to his office only to have him ignore me while I tried to ask him, pick up his own phone and start calling someone else rather than talk with Mom himself. Then when I'm about to get off the phone, he goes, "Oh Lillian died." I immediately pass the information to Mom, who then starts crying. Lillian was my mother's oldest friend in America. When she and my grandparents first came to this country and settled in San Francisco, Lillian was their across-the-street neighbor, whom Mom has kept contact with to this day. When Brandon and I went up there to stay in a hostel, we had to drop off a gift for Lillian, who then insisted we sit and talk with her for hours, saying my mom was her "little sister." This news comes on the heels of my grandmother's best friend passing away last week from liver cancer. What a shitty morning. |

I've been watching my grandmother day and night for the last month, and my parents keep talking down to me to do this or that like I was hired help. "Wake your lola up for dinner. Get her her teeth. Cut her meat for her. Change her diaper. Change her clothes. Put her to bed." It's to the point that if my mom EVER has to do anything because my hands are full, she acts overly exasperated and my dad yells at me to do it. I just asked if I could use the car to go to the library and was yelled at to stay home with Lola while they go over to her house to sort through her things. Meanwhile my college friends are getting on with their careers. I'm REALLY trying not to feel suicidal, but... Sorry. I really need to stop thinking about myself and my problems. |
